Frida Wow !! ( the red haired, for those who don't know the band) . Frida's voice is different, unique and so powerful compared to the rest of singers in the world. One can clearly hear Frida at how she has the ability to carry the melody with the strength and well balanced harmonies. When it comes down to live performance we have been able to see that Frida is the channel who commands the band in a ulterior way, not to many singers do. Even to these days # voyage
And Frida is gorgeous,lovely,sweet,cool,strong and kind!
Anytime we can hear Agnetha & Friday singing live, it's a treat. Their live voices sound almost the same as their recorded voices & that's rare, it's also what makes them one of the greatest bands of all time.
Lol.. Friday? Personally.. Frida is my choice.. ❤️

Don't they just look radiant, happy and glowing , they are the best pop/ rock band there has ever been. And I love their outfits too.

As per Frida's look, it's simple. She is an artist and artists can do whatever they want to do with their looks. Also Frida always was a chameleon. Am I wrong? I remember when the Album Voulez-Vous was released, I thought that the brunet wasn't Frida and it took weeks to realize that she was indeed Frida. She is funny, beautiful, gifted, great, fabulous I just can't stop laughing out loud here. I'm in heaven with this video.

I always regarded this number as the best ass-kicking song that ABBA ever did - and Anni Frida gave a lifetime performance that was, and still is, totally outstanding! Ever the lady, you had it then, girl, and you still have it now - thank you for bringing your unique and outgoing style of oomph!! to the most talented pop group of the 20th century.
P.S. And the Bunny-hop dance at the coda is still a joy to behold.
I think it's a stronger song than Waterloo... but not quite as commercial. It's one hell of a good job by B&B

Always I have prefered Agnetha in every context, she's my favourite. But I dont think that Frida ruined herself with this hairs. She was known about their many-coloured personality, and crazy stage presences. I like her attitude, but Agni is my angel forever ;)

A smile that will warm the coldest heart, gorgeous big blue eyes that'll take you on an endless sensual trip. Her lovely flowing blonde hair draping softly upon her shoulders and the pair of luscious lips who can build a smile on the crabbiest face. A stunning and gracious woman indeed! wow how much more prominent Benny's piano play than on record. Love it. Actually loved So Long much better than Waterloo, but for whatever reason it bombed in most countries. At least in Germany it was a decent nr. 11 on the charts.... after Waterloo hit number 1 and Honey Honey hit number 2....

kingmarshmusic yes probably this is really the original key when they recorded the song but have to raise the pitch for the final song release. A lot of their songs were like that.

All TV sound was mono in 1974. Stereo TV didn't arrive until the mid-1980s. The fact that it's only playing in the right channel is an easy to fix video transfer error.

This performance was thought to be lost, and we've always known it was live but fortunately it surfaced recently so here it is for everybody's pleasure. :))
ABBFridalicious Yes, a BBC camera operator, who had retired I think, had kept tapes of shows like this at home. A lot of tapes at the studios got routinely wiped. But this guy went through stuff in his garage, like that, and found this. One tape was all it took!

What a treat! I wonder why they played it on TOTP though? The rules to be included on an episode were that you had to be a new release or going up the chart to appear. Does anyone know the story behind it? Did it just not chart?

Great performance, and with a live vocal too! This edition of TOTP was of course wiped by the BBC, as were many editions in the early 70s. It's surprisingly good quality, both audio and video. So Long is one of my favourites. Shame that, despite this TOTP performance, it didn't chart in the UK.

It is just unbelievable how much ranting about the looks of the girls there is in the comments of almost every ABBA video here on UA-cam. For heaven’s sake, they were musicians. Their music made them shine! Stop it already.

I actually liked this performance, although In the Carl Magnus Palm book on the complete ABBA recording sessions, there's a reproduction of an advert which has this performance dated 5th December. The book has only just been released so you may wish to reticle your video to reflect the correct date, as I'm sure fans will want to see the video.

This is not live, is still pre-recorded. Top of the Pops was all playback. The difference is that the tracks were recorded live-like in a studio a few days before the show.
This was recorded on 4th of Dec But shown on 5th of Dec. As top of the pops special Mag says that info.

Hehe, true. However, she looked great in Ein Kessel Buntes show but fortunately hair grows out and we had the gorgeous "Fernando" hair and later on the glamourous 77 concert flaming red hair.
This was the version which was also played live at Australia in 1977 and used for the Movie sequence.

How do you know this is live? I'm not saying it isn't, I'm just curious how you know.
I did have this in my collection before Sara managed to get a better copy as my was very grainy due to tape it as been played a lot. I do know that SOS video Top of the pops is out there but it's in the BBC hands now as I sent Sara an e-mail with info. SOS was destroyed by the BBC as they needed spare tapes at the time. Even the whole show as destroyed.
