  • If you’ve ever read through the comments section on some of my videos, you’ve probably seen loads of people correcting my mistakes. Mistakes happen. I’m not perfect. And I strongly believe that mistakes are what make us human. They should be celebrated!

I made a mistake last year on my birthday and wrote "20 yars old" instead of "20 years old", people online told me there was nothing wrong with being a 20 year old pirate ! I remember and laugh about it every time I see the "mistake" :)

This is just what I needed! My mom and I both Bujo and she's been an artist her entire life. I'm always jealous of her beautiful spreads! But she gave me an awesome tip. If you use a white gelly roll pen to cover up mistakes it's much more smooth and beautiful than white out. I never use white out. you can't write overtop very well. the gelly rolls make the paper smooth again. I hope this helps someone out. 😊

Thanks for sharing your Bullet Journal bloopers :) One unintended side-effect I've noticed from keeping a bullet journal, is that I'm much better at letting go of mistakes- whether in my journal or elsewhere.

Thank you so much for this video. So often we forget we are human. You are the reason I am able to move on to the next day or next week with a positive recovery. Sometimes it is as simple as turning the page. What I like more than anything is your attitude! I love the laughter when you talk about it. You own it, laugh about it then turn the page...done. Now that is what I call a perfect mistake.

I looked up thousands of tips how to create the perfect bullet journal, but I feel like this is what I actually needed. I was scared to make mistakes but now I'm curious about the beautiful things that I can turn those mistakes into. Now I'm finally ready to start, 1000 x thank you ! :) :) :)

Thank you for sharing! I especially loved your comment, (paraphrasing) if anything, bullet journaling has helped me get over my own perfectionism. I need that, too! And I waited and waited and waited to start a bullet journal, because I couldn't decide which layout to use, or I would forget to mark things off, or I didn't know how to incorporate the journal I had compared to the other journals I have seen online. Finally, I started last week, and if I missed some, I didn't care. I just needed to get organized. So, thank you! I think I will have to adapt and grow to get different sections started, and I am ok with that. Baby steps! Have a great day! :)

Aw I really hate making mistakes when writing on my bullet journal because I always go head-first with a pen cause I'm rushing all the time. But I realise that when I flip back to pages I've written weeks ago and see the funny mistakes I've made, I can't help but to smile. And I Guess that's the beauty of bullet journals, they reflect you and your growth. And they remind you that youre not perfect and it's totally fine. Because weeks from now, you'll still be around and happy when you look back on all the time you've spent 😊

I wish there were a "love" button for this video! I'm a classical pianist, so I've had a lot to learn about perfectionism versus creativity. I feel like I've learned more in one year of bullet journaling than I did in 30 years of music practice about the art of letting go and enjoying the creative result, whatever it may be. You've expressed that so well!

Eourope is such a fun mistake! I make them all the time, especially because my native language is Dutch, so sometimes I don't even notice I made a mistake in the beginning. (I use English, because for some reason it feels better than my own language.) No one is perfect and I think mistakes can be really charming :)

I've only been using my bujo for nearly 2 months now but I honestly can't wait to keep on doing it until I actually have a lot of journals at hand like how you do now! Your work and being are lovely. again, thank you for sharing and for being inspirational.

My first attempt at a bullet journal was in an art journal which allowed for a heavier hand and didn’t ghost with markers.
My new journal is a true bullet journal and I’m learning to deal with ghosting and have ordered better pens to prevent the smearing. The smearing is driving me nuts.
But I keep reminding myself that I’m doing this to work on my creativity as well as stay organized with being in school, starting a new career, and having a large family.
Thank you for sharing that you’re human, too. ☺️👍🏻

Fewww. Thank you for this vlog. Although I have to say at first I would get so upset by my mistakes, weather messing up on dates or lay out not working the way I would like. Now I've been taking my mistakes in stride and have found ways to fix small errors. I guess its a learning curve in the journal and also learning to not be so hard on my self.

this video couldn't have come soon enough lol. I just dealt with this yesterday as I was setting up my monthly February spread (a bit late). I tried bubble lettering my February goals page and I hated it from the minute I started, so I turned it into a doodle do page instead. I'm new to bullet journaling anyway. this is month 2, and I've had quite a few mess ups already, just figuring out spacing for things. I have a cheap little Walmart notebook that has 23 lines in all. and last month was a doozy figuring out how things would fit and what kind of spreads I could do easily. I ended up with quite a few doodle or planning test pages throughout January. and that's OK. It's a big reason why I love this whole bullet journaling. if you make a mistake, you can always turn the page.

That's what I like about the bullet journal. When you make a mistake, you can just turn the page or cover up. not something you can do with regular journals.

Not gonna lie; if I made a mistake that required covering up most if not all of the page, I would just glue the pages together and get on with it. I'm not creative enough to come up with a pretty cover-up.
On the plus side, my bujo isn't working out for me. The paper and dot ruling I can't do anything about until i can get a new journal, but now I know I can start over with a better format. And it might not look as nice as I'd like it to, but if it does what I need it to that's what matters, right?

Absolutely! It can be all about function over form, that's how the Bullet Journal system began :)

My bullet journal is a hot mess compared to yours. But I really couldn't bother to spend much time stressing about little mistakes in a thing that is supposed to be a TOOL. It's supposed to make my life easier. I don't use a bullet journal to create a piece of art :D
    So, very good video :)

I love to bujo, but sadly I'm a very messy writer and I make mistakes a lot! But since I knew myself and this ist my first BuJo I bought Pens which you can easily erase, I highly recommend getting these, if you're as messy as me and don't want to waste nearly half of your BuJo because of mistakes :)
