Here are my 2 cents coming from a Benfica fan, Sporting's main rivals.
I think he's the real deal. I've seen plenty of good strikers coming out of Portugal and do well in Europe, but I honestly don't think I've seen such a complete striker since Falcao. He does everything you would want a striker to do and more. He's clinical when finishing in front of the keeper, he can head the ball, he can shoot from mid distance, he can link up play, he can hold the ball while waiting for runs, he can make those runs himself, he's very fast and strong at the same time. He's a cultural phenomenon at this point, you see kids doing his celebration, you see players from other sports in Portugal doing it too. He also hasn't gotten into any drama or controversy up to this point, he's likeable even for rivals or non Sporting fans. Naturally I don't think he'd be as dominant in the Prem, at least in the first year or two, but if you see him play week in, week out, you'll understand the hype.
Tá calado, queres é vê-lo pelas costas 😂😂😂
Great comment and analysis. 👍
My only concern is I don't see him as being FAST! If anything, he seems too LEISURELY to me, and that's because this guy is built like a BEAST 😅, and you sometimes need SPEED in the Premier League to get by defenders.
But he has great potential
Fantastic post ♥️
@@OkA-007 he is fast. Very. That is impossible to dispute.
@OkA-007 bro , trust me , his fast , no so fast like Walker , but he dont need because with is force he puts walker falling , his good with left and right , and like i said, his so intelligent when he saw someone more faster than him he use is force , and trust me I saw huge guys like Fonte , Pepe , Otamendi and imagine Mangala get dropped by him like nothing . I saw so many times himself at the 90min of the game making 60m sprint to recover the ball like the first 10 min . What a fantastic player .
Im a chelsea fan, but i think arsenal would be the best fit for him. They're a key striker away from becoming an absolute menace in European football

+ A good bench is necessary
@@servisswe have one of the best benches in the prem
@@haydenp236 That’s probably not enough if Arsenal wants to compete consistently at the top. Players like Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, Cedric, Elneny and Fabio Vieira aren’t great Premier League players. Decent, maybe good but not great. Just look at City. Guardiola can basically rotate almost any position every week without losing quality (thank god we got Rice). We’re lucky that the injuries have been quite spread out. Imagine Saka and Ødegaard injured at the same time, I don’t think the game would flow the same without one of the two even
He is build for Arsenal, final piece for unstoppable Arteta Army
That celebration is cold
Perfectly suited to Arsenals playing style.
Another 100m spending from Edu masterclass. Sanchez vibe. ++ Odegaard. Recreate Ozil + Sanchez duo
Sanchez with Ronaldo like strength and speed
@@tomasseara1005 Alexis Sanchez strenght wasnt something should be talked easily
I gotta love the comments on, "Oh he is on poor Portuguese league, those numbers mean nothing" (and we talking only numbers cause thats what you can grasp since you never watched all his games like i did) and i assure you, if he had less than half of that i would still argue he is a machine! He is playing on a team where our wingers are totally under performing and whenever he is called to the wing on a typical sporting tactic he manages to put the ball on sweet spot to finish to bad the others cant do what he does, we need 2 more of him.
And whenever you question a player coming from the Portuguese league have in mind Arsenal just got beaten by Sporting last year and maybe next week from Porto and above all, remember these players that came from Portuguese League: Falcao, James Rodriguez, Ruben Dias, Mateus, Nunes, Bruno Fernandes, Darwin, Luiz Diaz, Joao Palhina, Rojo, Di MaRIAa. Which makes any questioning on signings from Portuguese league being risky.
Exactly, almost everyone who does well in Portugal does well in any other league. And Gyokeres absolutely dominates. And when he has a poor game (which is very rare) he still contributes massively. Also he is never injured and has incredible workrate.
just to put some more names in there: CR7, Figo, Oblak, Ederson, Deco, Rui Costa, Bernardo Silva, Diogo Dalot, Eder Militão, Nani, Quaresma, Eric Dier, Rafael Leão, Cancelo, Félix, Enzo, Lindelof...
I think he'd be perfect for us. Strong, pacy and a decent finisher with good link up. Funny thing is this arsenal side doesn't need a superstriker just one that suits our style and is decent in front of goal an i bet he will get 20+ goals.
so true i think he would be really good for us
Remember Darwin Nunez.
Not so true, there are moments where you need striker instincts to win you games
@@Peggyg13arteta would’ve cooked with nunez
he couldn’t score against Luton in the playoffs 😂😂
for 86 mill as a release clause, hes probs the best and cheapest option of the top strikers around
He has not played in any of the top 5 leagues and suddenly he is top striker ? He was in championship one year + ago and last summer no team in the whole wide world were willing to pay above 20m euros for him . That release clause is the lottery prize for sporting and I hope we don't pay it. Overhyping the transfer target is what fans do best
@@joshuasee2860Top 5? The French league and Portuguese league have swapped places back and forth for over a decade. There is a top 4, then Portuguese and French league in the brackets below, then the Dutch league in a bracket below those, then the rest.
@@joshuasee2860 Sure he is in a "low quality" portugeese league blah blah blah, bullshit. 70% of all the top players in prem come from outside of England, all over the world. Would you deny adding Ronaldo if he was in his youth? oh a reminder he also came from Sporting. Sporting is the #1 team in Portugal only because of Gyokeres. And look around on other strikers in the world that play in "better leagues" Mbappe in PSG SURROUNDED by talent and playing against a lot of mediocre teams. Haaland in city? SURROUNDED by talent and other than Liverpool and Arsenal there is no team anywhere near City. You could even make a statement about Haaland. Scoring goals like crazy but hes always been in the most dominant teams. The difference between Sporting and the other teams in Portugal other than Benfica and Porto is similliar to the difference between City and the other teams in the Prem. Same can be said about Kane in Bayern, other than top #6 the rest of the teams is crap, ah hes also SURROUNDED by talent.

He should sign for arsenal on summer
He‘d be mad signing for ARSEanal....bunch of losers.

Welcome to Arsenal VIKTOR BANE GYÖKERES
Cold celebration
Doing it in the Championship and Liga Nos is one thing, but the PL is the number 1 league in Europe and the hardest/most difficult league to play in. IMO he would be too much of a risk (and not worth the money) for PL sides.
Check him vs Porto this season if you want a pleasant suprise 👀
Pocketed by Hien yesterday
Where was Hien when he assisted Pedro Gonçalves? On Gyo's pocket! Go watch!
Damn I'm too early
Raya with the long pass, havertz flicks it, Gyokeres with the finish🔥🔥
This guy looks like a better version of Jesus…can dribble, shoot with either feet….and also with the elite Scandinavian will to dominate..prefer this guy over any osimhen or Toney any time any day…
Again 1 problem I see is that Arsenal need a no 9 that is central & ruthless but he's not quite that so don't add up that we want him
I love to see this player in my Lovely club Arsenal
He isn t pronunced gökerez, it is Viktor Gyökeres, you should say it like pronunce the "G" like a gansta "ö" like if you are moaing "k" like a c and "e" like ex when you say ex... and how you say the e letter "r" like you are pronuncing the r when you say the N word and say the "e" the same way and say "s" like when you say Shampo.
No its a normal s sound, its only like sh in Portugal
I couldn't understand anything of what you said. You should improve your writing.
zirkzee please

Santiago jiminez 🔥
Hell no
Please, we don't want Dutch Attackers.
100m lol the championship is better than the Portugal league! just proves it the standard of defending is shocking 25m-30m tops. They known for inflating prices but 100m come on
Correction, on March 10th he has 33 goals in 37 games for Sporting Portugal...
''It´s the portuguese league, the defenders ar not that good'', are the Benfica and Porto defenders bad? What the games whe he went against them... How many good or top defenders in the world come from the portuguese league?? Just because the players are in a lower rank league doesn´t mean they are bad. It´s not a transfer to a top tier club that makes a player top class, it´s a top class player that invites a top tier club to give them a contract!
Bruno Fernandes for you remember he came from Portuguese league and other players you need to stop being ignorant
Saka came straight from the academy and started dominating. If he is good, he is good. Simples
@@user-ph4ze7og5b Vardy is a master example of that
Am I the only one that sees Mika Biereth as a similar-style player?
Came here to say this
Seem similar but arteta will never trust a young player for that striker position
We've got Havertz we don't need another striker.
Of course we do
Admittedly, I haven't watched much of him but with all the recent talk about Gyokores, he seems like a beast and would probably be a good signing for us.
Though, I have a feeling that Arteta would more likely go in for maybe a Joao Neves instead to replace Partey and Jorginho in the long term. Someone young and talented but able to be moulded into the role while sticking with Havertz upfront.
GET THİS MAN TO ARSENAL RİGTH FUCKEN NOW
If Arsenal truly goes for him as it is rumoured, he should not look anywhere else. The system suits his style to a T.
I would take Vlahovic over him though but that's a bridge burnt. Gyokyeres seems like a raw version of the same.
Gyokeres would be a great signing for Arsenal pay the money get him in
the missing piece in arteta's army
He is a vandal champion, they came from S Norway, W Sweden.. Their first known name is VendilaR, probably derived from Vänern lake´s ancient name *Vendiz...
sell jesus and Nketia, get sesko and gyokeres.
Awful name pronunciation.
34 goals in 50 games? The guy has 36 goals in 39 oficial matches...
And 14 assists
All these comments are from people that have never watched him play just heard about him or watch some highlights or maybe about 15 minutes of his gameplay. He would destroy a lot of those defenses in the EPL. No I’m just kidding he sucks leave him alone let him stay in Portugal please😎
Another Brighton product
Come to chelsea bro
we are not buying him it will be sesko
Keep the money, he would be a flop. Leave him alone guys... 🙏
Not good enough for England. You should try Benfica. They have so many wonderkids we call them the England of Portugal.
Use Mika Biereth and save $100M
Only still photos - that's a minus
It makes no sense at all. He was just 20m euros last year attracting interest from Everton n westham only. He has no epl experience nor any top 5 leagues goals. Couldn't lead Coventry back up to epl.
One season in portugese league where his opponents other than the top 3 teams, are mostly just championship level. He is only 2 years younger than Ivan Toney. And now sporting wants 100 euros for him. Ivan Toney is a much better choice. Be rational ppl
And for 100m euro im sure there will be much safer bet somewhere round
Toney or Watkins should be the main choices for Arsenal.
He is overpriced, a good season in the championship and one in Portugal where they play mostly counter attacking football, he might end up being like Pepe i.e 1-2 season wonders who might struggle in a possession based team like Pepe did.
No Striker in the Market will come cheap
Which Top Teams wants to sell their own striker for a little amount of Money?
Don’t rate him. Watched him against Atalanta, he wasn’t impressive. The championship and Portuguese league are on the same level. Any decent striker can shine in both. Doesn’t alway translate to success in the English premier league
You watched him when he had a knock and didn't even start the game because of that and have already made up your mind?? Really?
I watch him and if you look at his skill set, he's a good target man, he has decent movement, good hold up play but what makes him one of the best strikers in the World is how good he is in tight areas. He is really technical and capable of beating players on the dribble, he is also a great chance creator, while obviously being a good goalscorer. Watch him more instead of being ignorant and being so quick to judge after 45 minutes of screen time
@@cwkjr2625he has not play in top 5 leagues before. He couldn't bring Coventry back to epl. Only two years younger than Ivan Toney who has scored way more top level league goals than him in way more season. Last summer not many teams would even go above 20m euro for him. He had a breakthrough season good for him. But his resume doesn't match his pricetag. Even Ivan Toney I don't think is a good option for us but way better than him on paper. For that price , too big a risk. This is epl we are talking about winning it. It ain't a casino. We need proven quality not one season wonder
@@joshuasee2860 I couldn't care less about resume, when you think about if a player is a good option for any club, you look at their skill set, not their past achievements. And his particular skill set, he's been demonstrating for years if the past is what you're thinking of, even his last season at Coventry he got 30+ goals and assists, is it his fault the rest of his team sucked?? Thats two seasons where he has put up really good performances It's about what he can do now, and despite playing in a less competitive league, he's come up against great defenders. Go and check out his performances vs Otamendi, vs Pepe, even against wonderkids like Antonio Silva, who most prem teams would love to have. One season wonder?? Who do you want to come in then?? Osihmen who has only scored 20+ goals in only one season?? Vlahovic?? Same situation. Sesko and Ferguson who have done basically nothing? Which one of these players isn't going to be a risk?? Which one of these players has been a consistently prolific and clinical striker? Just because Gyokeres hasn't played in the top 5 leagues yet doesn't mean he is worse than all these players, in fact, if you compare their skills, their strengths and weakness, Gyokeres is the most complete and most fitting striker option on the market, if you disagree then instead of telling me where he hasn't played and what he hasn't achieved, tell me what you think he cant do currently, tell me what his weaknesses are, it would be even better if you watched him often, which you clearly haven't but still...Every single striker we're looking at is a risk, I'd rather take a risk on a skill set that fits our system, that allows him to thrive in tight spaces, to be capable of creating for others and of course be a goalscorer, rather than a risk on players just because they've played in a top 5 league and had one prolific season last year despite being at times more wasteful than Gabi Jesus in front of goal.
@@cwkjr2625 he couldn’t score against Luton in the playoffs 😂😂
@@marcus-sky scored against Porto which our team struggled with last time...what's your point buddy?
