I think one key factor is the fact that he has done well with two teams that were considered one of the best in their league (Burnley in the Championship, and Anderlecht). Also, the obvious bit that he’s played under Pep.

"poor Kane 🤓" 1st of all, Vincent Kompany is a good manager with his tactics but his tactics doesn't match with Burnley but they still win the championship but Bayern Munich matches the tactics and players for Vincent Kompany.

As a Belgian I have to say I love Kompany. But man does it feel like the guy played too much Fifa career mode or football manager. Young kids, attacking, possession style even when he doesn’t have the players for it. Kids don’t win you consistent trophies. No matter how much you love your potentials and player growths in videogames. It doesn’t work like that irl. That said Bayern is one of those clubs that can save his career.
