Such an underrated channel. Exactly the info you want and always entertaining. I’d love to pick up a stick, hoping to get my kids into a trainer soon, they’re on the sim at the moment.
It's probably good that I don't live next door to you as I would be at your house every time, I see your shop light on! Lol! Thanks for posting quality content, I really enjoy it.
Great video, Fitz! I can’t say how much I appreciate you putting Crow from MST3K in the video. Every time I hear “Crow” with these stick models, I think of Crow on MST3K. Happy flying!
I like it...I haven't flown in quite some time...But watching you makes me want to take to the air again..."Sky is the limit...Until your battery dies"..
Great video! The Ultra Stick is an awesome plane that simply performs. I think it could be a great trainer (on a buddy box) to pretty much whatever you can throw at it. Very versatile design! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. Yes i was quite surprised how mild and forgiving it was with the controls dialed down. Can easily be a second plane after you get tired of your trainer.
Mr. Walker I enjoy your videos , I wish you were closer to Champaign Illinois because I am sure I would enjoy the comradery as well. I am just getting back into the hobby after an 18 year absence . this plane is definitely on my radar just need to figure out which radio I want to purchase.
honestly you would have to do the best rc plane reviews that i have came across on YouToob, Always Clear, Explanatory, informative and Fun to listen too and that makes for a great watching experience whether the video is 5 mins or 45 mins so for this im very grateful to have come across your channel and will be watching many more of you vids as now im starting to get back into flying after a 2 yr delay to say the least he he , but lets hope we all stay safe and can get on with our lives and passions for RC Flying and building basically just enjoying what life we do have left cheers and look forward to many more watching of these great reviews :-))
Thanks for another great review. I learned to fly on a HK ugly stik pre-"nasty world bug" and I'm picking up my Hangar 9 Ultra stik this Friday. I'm really looking forward to this bigger stick in balsa. What battery did you like best in it? 3200/4000/5000? Just trying to decide on which 6S batteries to invest in.
I noticed with flaperon mix, elevator is also working ss it does with flap mix. Is there ANY way to omit that mix during flaperons? 🤔🤯 Thx & i just subscribed! 👍
Great video! Very informative. Can you post (or have you) on your set-up for this A/C? I have this plane (ARF Version) and can only get 1 flap position and 1 crow position, would be very interested in how you accomplished this. Thank you and thanks for the great video!!!
If you have q Spektrum radio, they have presets: www.horizonhobby.com/product/ultra-stick-pnp-60/HAN4775.html# Click on "manuals & support", then presets download.
That's a lotta switches. I'm not too familiar with Spektrum programming, but is it possible to simplify the pilot workload by setting up those behaviours to tie in to your rate & flap switch? - Use a 3 position switch for Low, Medium & High rates. - Either always have aileron & flap mixed together (gives you consistent feel in the air), or keep them separate in Low rates, and mix them on your Medium & High rate settings. - In Medium or High rates always have flap mixed to elevator for tight loops. I *think* if you assign both your Flap and Rate switches to activate flight modes a modern Spektrum radio lets you do all that, and then you're just flying with a standard flap switch and rates switch. Then for crow, either have that where your landing gear switch would normally be, or set it up like a glider with proportional crow braking controlled by the throttle stick. Anytime you hit your throttle cut switch, enable crow with it activated proportionally by pulling back on the throttle stick. In normal flight you pull back on throttle to slow down, if you want to slow more you hit your Crow/Gear switch and then again, the more you pull back on throttle, the slower you go.
Nice review, I had not heard of "crow" before, so it nice to see something new and get an in-flight demonstration of the feature. It's a good looking plane too.
I hope you get a commission on these because you just convinced me to buy one, and I'll put an AR10360T receiver in it because I like having the barometer chip (one of the sites I fly from is close to an airport so there is a hard 400 foot ceiling for good reason). I'd been kicking around the idea of buying one of these and you just convinced me, I wanted to experiment with crow and the flap mixing. I'm also thinking of installing a candy dropper or something like that with the extra channels. Thank you for an excellent and informative review.
Sticks are great airplanes. I had the .40 size when they first came out back in the early 2000's and I put many flights on it. I wanted another one and I decided on the 30cc version with a DLE-30. They can go from mild to wild and everything in between and the control surface mixing possibilities are a lot of fun to experiment with. I've buddy boxed new pilots on the U.S. with great success as well.
Nice vid . Just can't understand why a 4s rated power plant wasn't used. 6s is excessives and more expensive for no apparent gains the size of model doesn't warrant it. Do like your mix on the control surfaces. be nice and responsive

Beautiful airplane, and a really fun flight!!
Outstanding shipmate. Press on. USS Kitty Hawk CV-63. Jan 1980 to July 1983. RC er for life.
God bless you and your wife...thank you for sharing our passion of RC flight !

I built and flew this model back in the 1980s. If you're a beginner or expert this airplane will fit your flying style.
I really enjoy your videos. Best rc reviewer on youtube. Thank you all the way from Sweden.

Haha, glad someone appreciated it.

Just ordered mine this morning

Sure, you can dial in more or less elevator mix through the 'Flap System' menu on the Spektrum transmitter.
you will need UP trim on your elevator for this model as it will pitch forward when your flaps are hung out....i know as i have the 30cc version
Sweet flying. I have a 60" I need to get into the air. My first nitro. I think "snap flap" is the term for flap and elevator mix.

Well done Fitz.
I have a black horse stick 4d and ailerons and flaps combined together even when flaps are used they all moving together in same motion..
Great review Fitz ! I wish I lived close to you so you could teach me how to fly
Hah. In fact the flight videographer of this video is my current student.
@@HobbyView I'm sure he'll be flying great in no time !

Now your cooking with hotter oil.... Awesome plane and video.

good video and nice model, but i think, this is ideal model for gas engine and starting with gliders on rope ;-)

all the 26 G Servo on this airplane are junk and burning right away
