28:59 Your friends utterly fantastic “wheel” landing, greased unto the ground with no bouncing, knocked my socks off. I’d dare say the best I’v ever seen! Great show, thank you!!!
Crazy how the plane’s structural design resembles real aluminum frame airplane design. It’s almost like it’s been painted in green aircraft primer. Fantastic!
Really neat to find this! My Father flew a Bird Dog in Vietnam with the same rocket pods. He passed away last year but he would've loved to have seen this build and fly. Great video!
This is the 1st time seeing you & your channel. What an awesome large scale bird! Job well done on the assembly & excellent 1st flight! Thanks for sharing!
I adore your videos, they make me feel brave enough to tackle these projects. The detail and explanations you give are so unique on this platform. Looking forward to the next one already!
Long time since I have watched a video like this and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a 96" Bird Dog which has flown very little. This inspires me to wring it out again.
Great job building and flying! I've watched many of your videos, so I finally subscribed. I used to fly nitro planes (meaning MANY years ago) but just a year or so ago got back into RC with electrics. I once built a Circus Hobbies Bird Dog (about 109" wingspan I think). LOVE Bird Dogs! Spent so much time and put so much detail into it....that it became a "hanger queen". You know...the one you just didn't want to crash. LOL. In fact, when I got out of nitro planes, and flying altogether for many years (I sold everything I had) ...but it's the only plane that I kept! I built it when I was about 40....I'm 72 now. Anyway....you keep those videos coming.
I worked on bird dogs in 67-68 in vietnam . We had a couple that needed major repairs but dont believe we lost any. We had rockets on one wing and m60 machine gun on the other . Both got used . Really enjoyed your video , brought back a lot of memories . Got to go up on one of the test flights which pilot did some amazing things Your model seems equally ++ capable ,, i,'m impressed with loop . Great video .

I love your videos. I live in Greenville MS. I been in and out of rc planes and helicopters and am back in it full time once I ran across your channel. You got me back interested and I am so glad I saw ur videos. Thanks and keep them coming
Loved the build. Loved the fly. My old friend that taught me to fly Bob - had a 1/3 Piper.Cub that I think might have been nearly the same size. I did buy a park sized Bird Dog that was very hard to fly. It was very pretty but i sold it.
An RC airplane hobby is not a viable option for me, at least not for a few years; I've already got other hobbies on the back burner that I need to return to. But it is pure pleasure watching your builds, or listening to your radio voice in the background while working on projects.
Might see this very plane at the Jetero RC Warbird event Oct 27 28 2023 Dayton TX 77535. It was at our high wing hoedown over the summer. Ownership passed to someone else.
Got to see this very model fly at the Jetero RC High Wing Hoedown June 24, 2023 Ownership passed from Fitz to another gentleman who brought it out sporting fabullous custom weathering.
Not sure if anyone else noted: The LED housing for the landing lights is necessary for the LED's to live long and prosper. So picking up a smaller finned heatsink would be in their best interest. Running them without could possibly cause an onboard fire without some way to remove the heat these LED beads generate. Also might need to have a bit of air-circulation behind the heatsink.
Great build! I love those shirts too! I loved all the accessories i got with my rans raven kit that I bought from legend hobby, thanks for the informative videos, definitely inspiring.
I was a model airplane builder when I was a teenager. I didn't make models like this because of the cost, but I made very nice things too... 50 years ago doing something like this was something incredible... but nowadays, we see thousands of similar things called "drones" and it doesn't attract so much attention anymore...
Love it, great job. I got the L-4 Grasshopper and was wondering about this one next. I just might have to start saving for that baby! Thanks a lot for sharing!!!!!
What a AWESOME model Fitz!!! I would have the Gray Air Force version if I had a way to haul that fuselage around. That huge model is not too dissimilar to flying full scale, Lol. Just Beautiful and thanks so much for your great and very descriptive video!!
This video is amazing. Could you tell me what film/skin you used to cover the frame please? I am actually building a full size replica L-19 and whilst the wooden frame doesn't faze me, I'm stuck on what to cover the frame with.

I‘m not a modeller but I really like watching your videos. I find them calming and therapeutic. What a beautiful aeroplane this is. ❤
Man…this is one of your best video yet. Amazingly done. Lots of great tips!!! Just loved every minute of it!!
Really good photography, and perfect commentary. Thank you for not having music playing while you talk!
You are a rock star of the Hobby World. Thank you for posting and sharing. One day I’d like to start flying.
Wonderful model and, good job!
You are so lucky to be able to have ALL OF YOUR PLANES AND GEAR.
Yeah ! Maybe too much .
Your building skills never cease to amaze me. The Bird Dog seems to fly very well, almost scale like. Thanks for a great video!
Hey Robert!
Building skills? Its an ARTF
@@phippsa3 Right? These are ASSEMBLING skills.
I think this model is fussy, but with careful assembly details you can have a fine airframe
28:59 Your friends utterly fantastic “wheel” landing, greased unto the ground with no bouncing, knocked my socks off. I’d dare say the best I’v ever seen! Great show, thank you!!!
Excellent video, narration, tempo, craftsmanship, and knowledge. Thanks for sharing your hobby and skills.

The extra gags in the video were glorious. A very fun (and fast) half hour. Great work as always!
Excellent video, I really enjoyed the build and your humor!!
Your workshop is my dream man.
I'm impressed by this model. She looks amazing and has great flight characteristics.

Needs spring loaded nerf rockets for ground attack

Wow! That IS a BIG DAWG.

Enjoyed that video, that sense of humor is refreshing.
Loved your presentation and filming clarity. Great fun.
I like that they make the box large enough to bury a guy in for when his wife figures out how much he spent on it. 😁
A great Video, no BS and greatly enjoyed the puns at the beginning. Great flying! Im an up and down pilot, get up real quick and down even quicker!
Fantastic airplane.

What a monster for an ARF!!!!!
Beautful Plane ...😊😊😊
Excellent video article Fitz! Enjoyed it...
Nice job. Great video. A note about the full scale job: going to full flap (45-degrees) commits you to landing. Happy flying!
Beautiful build, Thanks for sharing.
Your camera is a good flyer.
You Sir are an ARF master !!!!
I love your diction and vocabulary.
That's gotta be one of the most beautiful kits I've ever seen, congrats Bro!

Could call her "Homesick Angel" with how she loves to get up and stay in the air. Great looking model! On the ground and in the air!
I learn something new every time I watch you build. Great job!
Might see this very plane at the Jetero RC Warbird event Oct 27 28 2023 Dayton TX 77535. It was at our high wing hoedown over the summer. Ownership passed to someone else.

Trying to learn 🤩. Love your videos. Amazing!

Great park flyer!
