- We got the new 2021 MAKO Pro Skiff 15. In this video I walk around and review the boat and also cover the accessories that I ordered after purchasing the new boat.
There is also a small clip of us going out on the water for the first time and catching the first fish on the boat.

Nothing more exciting than a new (or new to you) boat
Thanks; so true.
Thanks for pointing out the backflush on those Mercury's. I was looking all over the manual trying to figure out how to flush the motor without turning it on!
Congrats on the boat! Look forward to seeing you around Clapboard.
Thanks Tyler; definitely new adventures awaiting
Probably the best review I’ve ever seen on a product haha
😄thanks
Very nice! New adventures are waiting, get out the house and go fish! ; )
That’s right! 👍🎣❤️😄
Those are cool little boats - most people I hear from are pleased with them. Congratulations!
Thanks; everyone seems to be pretty happy with them.
Really nice review; I will keep it on my short list. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed
Love the new boat! Gonna have alot of fun times on it.
Definitely looking forward to getting out there exploring lots more areas 👍🎣😄
LOL - I used the same music in a video I uploaded to UA-cam last night, before seeing your video:-) Big congrats on the new boat!
Thanks; I scroll through the UA-cam music listening to clips every time thinking... 🤔 hmm which one will it be ...
Congrats on becoming a boat owner! More range, more fish. There's a lot more maintenance and upkeep required but its well worth it.
Thanks Jim; already experiencing the boat life, you’ll see what happened in the next adventure but another reason I purchased new for that warranty...
So ready for 2021 😄🎣
Good looking boat, friend!
Thanks
Congrats on the new boat! Just use the "ear muff" style on the foot of the motor when flushing.
Thanks; I might have to try those if I have problems again.
@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish you’ll definitely want the muffs to properly flush your motor. You will turn the hose on and start the motor and let it cycle through for a few mins. Hooking up the hose is better than nothing but the muffs do a complete flush. Definitely want to do this for saltwater use.
Looks like a real nice boat Mike. Hope you and Katie enjoy it. I think you'll love that Terrova. I've got one on my boat and it's definitely been a game changer for me.
Thanks; Ive been out on the boat twice so far and it’s definitely my favorite upgrade I did on the boat.
I love that Suzuki Equator!
Some good videos going to be recorded on that thing . Nice boat Mike!
For sure 👍🎣😄
Congrats on the new boat.
Thank you 👍
I would really like to see how your trolling motor is all wired up. That would really help me. Thank you.
It was done at the dealer.
I had a problem with it one time where it wasn’t powering on and took it in and they re-did some wiring under warranty and fixed the problem.
A tech also told me the boards are known to fail on these i-pilots too.
I’m like... great.
He did assure me that they are still the best ones out there but that’s one of the problems they’ve seen.
Nice!!! I love your upgrades.
Thank you 👍😆
Thant hinge kit is pretty cool. Nice boat.
Thanks Wayn; so far it’s a great little boat.
Do you know what the total package length is now with the hinge kit?
Been looking everyone for someone who put the Fulton swing away on the 15’ Mako. Thanks dude!
Definitely worth it👍
@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish did you find it was a pretty easy install?
@@jaredlowe2635 when I ordered the boat I chose it as an option so when I picked the boat up it was already installed.
Nice boat bro
Thanks; definitely have been wanting that boat ever since I saw it a few years ago in a Bass Pro Shop
Try keeping the trailer a bit further out, I have the 17 pro skiff had same issue. Leave about 3 ft of the running boards above the water.
I saw a video after that and started doing that and I got some guides too.
Thanks 👍
Good job . Thanks !
What was walk out price with upgrades 4 yrs ago ?
How the boat been handling ?
Wonderful review Brother!
I was thinking about this very boat today after fishing with my Bro-in-Law for Fresh Water fishing.
Is there a mount or place for mounting a fishing seat on the bow?
Also, great advice on the improved trolling motor and engine monitoring system!
Thanks Again!
Cheers,
Eric
There is an option for a bow seat but I didn’t get it. I have a big 52qt cooler I keep up there that I will sit on and stand on occasionally.
What is the total length of the boat on the trailer with the swing tongue swung out of the way? I guess more succinctly, what is the shortest you can make your trailered boat?
Just under 19 ft
@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish Thanks!
how much was the boat total $ with your upgrades?
When I purchased it ; around $24k total
Congrats Mike!! im sure you will be getting alot of time with it by the time I get back haha
😆👍🎣
Great video. What length is the shaft on your trolling motor upgrade? Thank you
It’s about 5ft (60 inches)
Hello, I just picked up the same boat. Does the transducer work well where you have it mounted? Getting ready to install one. I am going to install it to a stern saver pad instead of drilling holes in transom. Thanks!!
No issues at all where it’s located. Just get a spray shooting up when under way.
@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish Thank you for the reply! Much appreciated.
I know this is a bit old. Is the boat on the trailer light enough to lift the tongue by hand and maneuver around? I would need to put mine on the side yard behind a fence and can’t get my truck back there.
Maybe a riding lawnmower could? I would think it would be too hard to try manually.
I can manually push it around on a flat concrete surface in the garage but with the tongue wheel down.
Just got mine. They installed bilge pump too close to drain hole so I can't stick the plug in it. Also had to reach under back deck and remove gas cap before I could pull tank out some to fill it. Gas gauge will not let it come out fully. No idea how they got it under there.
Yes after my initial first 3 times out I had to take it in like every time for something.
I just fixed the front baitwell problem myself.
Now she’s running good 👍
Mako Pro Skiff bait well pump fix (air lock fix)

@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish Took it back today and it seems the gas tank was sitting on top of the fuel hose and thats why it sat too high. Also they told me the plug goes on the outside of the boat. Ive googled it and there is a debate on where it goes so........
Just slide the gas tank to the center of the back deck, it is just a little higher than the ends on the deck than just slide it straight out, a little trouble but it works@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish
Nice video! Is that the 54" or 60" trolling motor shaft?
I’m pretty sure mine is 60
Thinking about getting the Mako 15 but worried about storage as my garage is only 19.5 ft. What the final measurement of your boat stored?
Sorry it took a while to respond. It’s just under 19ft with the trailer arm swung in.
Thanks for checking. Awesome videos
Thanks for responding to this question, I myself was looking to see how long it is as my garage is 19.5 feet
Thanks for the review. We just ordered a 2023 model. I'm also less than impressed with the fuel capacity. You said you ordered a second 6.6 gallon tank, is there room for both under the rear casting deck? Thanks!
Yes there’s room for both and I put a Y in line to switch between the two.
Super, thanks again
I am stuck to choose between Mako 15" , Carolina Skiff 16 JLS or 17L to Boston Whaler 150 Montauk
I love the Mako but I’d probably go with the Carolina Skiff 16 JLS next time if I ever get another inshore boat.
@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish I heard Skiff are bad they hold lots of water in them between mako skiff and carolina skiff tons of bad reviews on the boat owners forums
@@cammedramprocharged4927 some have had issues but I haven’t had any problem with it holding water.
Hello, how many people can go for a ride (not fishing)? Also, have you used your boat to pull a wakeboard or innertube?
I’ve seen another Mako 17 pull a wake board; the 15 should be able too fine.
I believe max occupancy is 5 and I’ve had that many for riding around not fishing.
Thanks for the video. How is the boat holding up?
Doing good; I fixed the baitwell issue that the majority of these Mako’s have.
I am about to have the 100 hr service done.
The only issue I have is I wish Mako would use all stainless steel hardware because I’m seeing some rust coming through on some of the hardware on the latches and on the front loop.
With the foldable hinge kit, what’s the total length you would need of garage space to house the skiff?
You should be good at 20ft of space.
It comes in a little less than 19ft.
@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish appreciate the reply, thanks
how much space do you have with the upgraded fold away trailer hitch kit... With that setup how much in total length storage wise is it?
Just under 19ft
can you tell me the specifics of the Fulton swing tongue(inches and lbs
The specs are on Amazon; they have multiple sizes on there.
thanks
What's the total foot print the boat/trailer/motor take up? I'm looking for a boat that I can fit inside my garage also. Do you still own the boat, what are your thoughts on it now that you have had it a couple of years?
With the swing away trailer arm it is just under 19ft. She’s been a good boat for me. A few hiccups at first but the motor and boat have a 5yr warranty.
Hey guy I’m curious do you know what the stock size of the prop is I’m looking at buying 1 very soon I want to op for the 60hp aswell but I’m curious what pitch it comes with also does it come with a stock 4blade or a 3 blade and did you get more top speed with that SS prop
I don’t remember about the stock prop; I upgraded to the SS prop so never used the stock one. Best speed I’ve gotten is 34mph
How long was the wait time on the boat? Been thinking of getting one myself
It was only a few months; maybe 3.
Can my Mazda cx-5 tow this boat with trailer and dry weight combined the Mazda can tow 2k pounds front wheel drive
Mako Pro Skiff 15 Average Package Weight 1750lb; you should be good to go 👍
How much did you pay?
At the time I believe it was around 21k plus had some upgrades and I put $4k down
What was the first fish caught on new boat, was it that trout?
Yes that was it 👍🎣
How does is do in rough water?
It gets bumpy. I’ve taken it out to the Jetty’s about 3 times.
If it gets too rough then I head more inshore to the creeks.
Definitely not an offshore use boat.
What is the length from the back of the motor to the trailer tongue hinge with it folded? I have a garage that is 20 ft from the back wall to the garage door. Was wondering if that boat would fit with the “ Swing away hinge”? Thanks!
Just under 19ft 👍😃
