Hi! Great video! On your FAQ sheet, question number 3 has a typo. Also, as a parent I would be concerned about the Jolly Rancher candy becoming a choking hazard in the classroom or on the bus. My son was given a peppermint candy when he was in elementary school and no one noticed he was choking until he was blue in the face. He’s 25 years old now and still remembers the traumatic experience he had. I just recently watched this video and it reminded me of it.

Thank you! I'm sorry you son had a traumatic experience with hard candy! I've never found this to be a problem in my classroom with 2nd graders. Additionally, jolly ranchers are only given out at certain times (typically 2 given out at the end of the day after we clean the room) and students know they are not allowed to go outside with them and should not be running with them. However if a parent had a concern with this candy, I would be happy to give their child an alternative they felt was appropriate, especially if they were willing to contribute that item instead of the jolly ranchers.
We don't get our list until 2 days before school starts 😢. This make s it difficult because I always make name labels for their backpack hooks, bday wall, etc.

Totally get that and have been there a couple years! I think adding those things as the year gets started is totally fine!
