my sixth grade teacher did something similar. fsixth grade was covid, so on the last day she decorated her room like a starbucks. she called it Starbooks! and we just did a whole lotta nothing

Hi! How did you make the trees above your smart board?

Maybe this sounds rude but to all teachers- if you keep losing pencils, just stop giving out pencils. I’m a student myself and honestly, if the teacher doesn’t give out pencils idgaf. Like if they just keep getting stolen you shouldn’t keep trying. Or do something like give the kids those comically large pencils if they ask lol

My class parents help with prepping pencils monthly.

I have used this Great Pencil Challenge for 3 years now in my 3rd grade classroom. 85% of Students have kept their pencil for almost 3 weeks. They get rewarded for being responsible. Students love it !

We don't get our list until 2 days before school starts 😢. This make s it difficult because I always make name labels for their backpack hooks, bday wall, etc. Love your classroom and ideas! ❤ This is my 5th year of teaching.

Congratulations! Curious as to what behavior communication you used for parents. Last year I used a daily calendar with which the kids colored at the end of the day depending on their color on the flip card chart (green, yellow…). Did you use something to communicate daily with parents concerning behavior or just communicate with them on an as needed basis?
