Okay I think I understand what is happening now, because the question asks about "greatest percentage increase" and not about the greatest difference, the percentage increase between 2 and 2.5 is 0.25 (as 2.5 minus 2 = 0.5 and then 0.5÷2 = 0.25) and the percentage increase between 2.5 and 3 is 0.2 (as 3 minus 2.5 = 0.5 and then 0.5÷2.5 = 0.2, you don't need to calculate it, you can just see that 0.5÷2 is gonna be more than 0.5÷2.5) therefore the greatest percentage increase is between 2 and 2.5.
