Watching the actors manipulate the puppets is so entrancing. I love how the actors display the minute emotions that the puppets can't convey, and how they wear darker versions of the characters' clothes (at least in this version). And I love this song.
To Ms. Parker I am saddened to hear that you feel this way about Avenue Q. What you have to understand about this particular musical is that the creators intended its purpose to be a comedic reflection on real adult life. Much like how Sesame Street (hence the usage of puppetry) teaches pre-elementary school aged children life principles such as mathematics, language arts and social skills, "Q" aims to give adults comical, yet insightful lessons that are applicable to every day life. Among these lessons are indeed homosexuality and acceptance. Many of my gay friends have told me that they relate with the character Rod's struggle of identifying who he is and coming out, because many of them went through similar struggles in their lives. Avenue Q is certainly not intending to market children with any sort of "agenda", seeing as all Broadway, touring, and regional productions of the musical (including the production that I was involved in) do not permit patrons under the age of 16 to be admitted without parental approval. As for what you saw on LOGO, "Q" is a very poignant title in the LGBT community. Much like how the musical Avenue Q is not intended for children, neither does LOGO claim to be a family network. The advertisements were intended to promote safe sex to prevent the transmission of HIV/AIDS, which is still very prominent, particularly in gay men. The use of the "Q" characters was no different than the use of a celebrity endorsement in any other PSA on any other network. Please understand that none of the characters, songs, or media associated with Avenue Q are intended to promote any particular mindset or beliefs upon children. I hope that in the future that you take the time to look into these things, instead of blindly labeling them as propaganda.
+Connor Rhoades I agree that was very well spoken but you don't have to walk on eggshells for homophobes. You have every right to post this on UA-cam without being harassed by bigots.
Whoever this Ms. Parker is she doesn't understand that this is a play for an adult audience. Kids wouldn't be able to see it unless if their parents didn't pay attention and didn't see this play was meant for children.
This is my favorite musical. I always watch this when I need to have fun or need to laugh. Plus I'd like to point out that Rod's puppeteer is super hot and acts great.
Best version of this song yet! Probably my favourite Avenue Q song and this is now my favourite version, and that's even considering the ever-so-excellent Original Broadway Cast! Best video of this song, seriously! :D *Bad Idea Bear Voice* : Yayyy Farmington Players! :') Wish I saw this show but I only turned 18 (and found out about this show) this year so hey. Fantastic acting here, can't get enough of this! Lol I love it. :)
@@Jonus_Grumby gotta say, you’re a fucking moron if you think this r-rated show is being marketed to children. More likely than not, you’re just some incel troll commenting garbage on any 12 year old video he can
@@ConnorRhoades I haven't seen enough of their stuff to really know. I just find it hard to accept grown people would want to watch this, and kid's shows do often market dysfunctional sexual behavior to kids.
I wasnt serious when I said "THE FUCK?! IS THIS SOME KIDS PUPPET PLAY?! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH OUR GENERATION?! XD" I was just laughing if it was XD
Nicky pulling out the Gay Pride flags killed me
I must admit that is a really nice touch to add with this song!
Hard same.
The guy who plays Rod is super attractive though ._.
I know right
That's exactly what I was thinking.
Tru
Sounds kinda GAY, ngl
Ur not wrong....

The finger movements at the "but I'm not gay" lines tie it together nicely.

The guy that wasn’t singing but was helping control Nicky looked so dead inside

Is no one gonna talk about the second hand of Nicky? How emotionless was his face???

Well... he’s the right hand. Basically sums it up.
Exactly, lighten up, dude!

They're not very good puppeteers....
That's the point. They were throwing in their mouth movements for extra satire on puppeteering in general.
Thanks!

It's not it's for grown ups or 18+ that's why if you were to look up the other plays you could tell it's for grown ups
