Packraft Tour in the Balkans - Zrmanja (2023)

- Dream packraft trip on the Zrmanja in Croatia in spectacular scenery. At the end of April we were lucky with the weather and the level (86cm) and since all rafting providers were still closed, we had our absolute peace on the 10km before the tourist rush that takes over in the summer. The 8-10 meter high waterfall and the crystal clear, blue shimmering water in a deserted gorge were the absolute highlight.
The difficulties are very manageable. Most of the route is WW-0/1, a few steps can get a bit more heaving at mid-water with the key section up to WW-III. The 2-meter high waterfall at the end of the tour has some backwash depending on the water level, but can also be carried around to the right.
If you are in Croatia in spring and have your packraft with you, you should definitely plan a side trip here.
But beware: From 2023 it is mandatory to book an official local guide for a trip. This guide possibly book further in advance.

Geiler Scheiß, zu schade, dass ich nie WW-Paddeln gelernt habe, Opi fährt eher ruhigeres Wasser 😉 Ist euch bekannt, ob man die Strecke einigermaßen erwandern kann? Oder sind die Pfade nur an den Umtragestellen? Das ganze Kartenmaterial gibt irgendwie nicht viel her.
Jetzt muss ich mir gleich im Anschluss noch die Cetina anschauen ❤❤

Hey, Freut mich, dass es dir gefällt. 🤩 Die Schlucht kann leider nicht erwandert werden und es gibt nur ein paar Trampelpfade bei den Umtragungen. Aber den Nebenfluss, die Krupa, kann man hoch wandern, aber die darf man leider nicht mit einem Packraft befahren. LG Tom
@@Packraftexplorers Danke, für deine Antwort, Tom 😊 Dann bleibt ja doch nur das Boot. Zuerst werde ich mal die Schlucht von See aus bis zu den ersten kleinen Wasserfällen bepaddeln. Das hat dieses Jahr leider nicht geklappt, weil ich direkt an der Mündung des Zrmanja vom Gewitter überrascht wurde.
Und wer weiß, vielleicht besitze ich ja auch bald ein Packraft, das ist ja auch für die sogenannten Microadventures ein sehr brauchbares Spielzeug 😉

Thank you very much. Not 100% sure, but I guess it could be available the whole year, but since this year, you need an official local guide who guide you through the National Park. I guess it could be hard to find someone during winter time. BR Tom
