Hi, I actually own a food truck & I would like to say that these are just things people should know before opening a food truck but it should definitely not discourage you from opening your truck. Theres a lot of pro’s. 1. low start up cost 2. Opening a restaurant is EXPENSIVE if you dont have enough money for a restaurant and want to start building a name for yourself a food truck is definitely the route to go 3. Flexibility to be able to take your business to any city 4. You are a mobile marketing sensation everywhere you drive people are seeing your name it is easy for them to pull out their phone and follow you on IG 5. You don’t need staff right off the bat you can work your business yourself in the beginning until you work your way up I think this video is discouraging, the weather is not a reason to not open a food truck. Because when the weather is bad your traffic in a store is slow too. So please entrepreneur give it a try!
Have you ever has that instant in life where you say, "I wish I would have known that sooner", and realize you would have done things differently? I think he's trying to inform, not discourage.
I am thinking about a new type of restaurants: eating-spots in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate this is opposed to current restaurants, thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants, along with that, there is an app, people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app
I started out with a hot dog cart 3 years ago and it's been very profitable. I'm going to expand to a bigger food trailer next year and I'm excited about it. I don't want a food truck because if it breaks down I'm out of business, with a trailer if my truck breaks down I can always rent a truck to tow my food trailer and I'm still good to go while my truck is in the shop!
THESE are great points actually carts are alot less to maintain and easier to get around great point, and can be multiplied to operate 3 or 4 at the same time with simple help hiring someone to run the cart at multiple locations smaller investment as well.
food truck moment is growing, any type of business there is a risk, rules, costs and nothing is easy, if you don't try you won't succeed don't let this type of people demotivate you, go be you on boss get your food truck earn 200,000 a 375,000 per year don't be a 15 dollar employee or don't stay home waiting for the unemployment check.
We own our own business and are starting a food truck business as an additional business to add to our portfolio. I can say this, anyone who wants to start any type of business should have some management experience and and a little project management experience. If you have this under your belt you can be successful at anything. Also, thinking outside the box is and will always be what sets you apart from people giving you 10 reasons to not do anything.
Depends. I started a food truck with my friends. Weve had a great time. We have good support. And we really enjoy being together running the truck.. I get free food whenever I want. I did sacrifice about three months making hardly anything but our passion pushed us through.
When I was much younger I was talking to someone who just quit working from a food truck, and she said the reason she quit, and the reason everyone should avoid working at a food truck, is that after a while because of the cooking it gets too hot. If you are planning the set up of a food truck try to factor in how to cool or heat your truck.
Great content. I’m trying to start one next year and going through the research first. BUT this video should be 10 things to watch out for. Everything on this list are great things to keep in mind but all of them combined isn’t enough not to try. But great guide on what to do. Very helpful for me and thank you.
All of these reasons to not open a food truck are things that happen in the food industry period. Building or truck. I think these are things to be AWARE of, but not why you SHOULD NOT have a food truck. People will be good at being a business owner and some people won't. A lot of times it depends if you are really willing to invest your time and educate yourself properly.
Hey man I m running a food truck and all the 10 points you have told are 100% right specifically the most important one profit margin and the point about employees, point to add also the mental stress is damn omg can't take it

loved your video but number 1 was not going to get rich or make 6 figures on a food truck, but yet you say at a big 3 day event you can clear $5000, to $15000 or more?? well thats making big big bucks to me Thanks Ryan
hey Ryan! Yes and no let me clarify, depending on the event some events being large and full of customers yes the potential is Huge for profit, but many food truck operators have to be persistent and patient in the goal of the food truck being a long-term business and reap huge profits, also aside from many factors like food costs , revenue, markup etc. you could or could not become rich. I have found running my food business stick with through the ups and down you WILL be a success.
Thanks for sharing overlooked issues in this industry. You are so right about the need for experience. Most people think of fast-food joints as good work for teens; but they are also great places to gain insight into the realities of a food service business. I plan to open my own pizza food truck hopefully in 2-3 years and have it as a side project. It’s going to be hard to manage it fully but if I can convince a family member to run it for me then it can be a win win situation as they’ll be trusted over some random employee.

Noone wants to help me and I only have 13 years to retirement. Damn.
Some people are just afraid of success
I wish you were where I live I've always wanted to have a food truck
@@rodneygipson8087 what are you wanting to do? I have so many ideas but if I get started by myself I'll probably just do cotton candy
@@JJLewis-so1iq right because by alone it's supposed to be really hard. I have a few ideas also but like easy quick foods, something that there's not many people selling. And that's funny because something like that actually Crossed my mind because it would be easy
@@rodneygipson8087 well, start up is inexpensive. You don't need a whole lot of equipment. Anyway. Good luck
You're the older Justin Bieber. Lol
So don’t start cause you have a family lol
On the other hand, put them to work.
