It’s increasingly getting harder to go anywhere with the Nigerian passport. A mere sight of that green booklet invokes alertness in immigration officers across world. Well no one wants to take any responsibility. Rather blame others that are trying to protect their sovereign countries.
Annoying?! Maybe it’s high time Nigerians have an honest conversation about their countrymen’s behaviour in other countries. Even here in SA if it wasn’t for our weak government we should ban them. The distraction they cause is more even to our diplomatic advantages…

It’s very unAfrican for Nigerians to NEVER hear them rebuking their countrymen but complain about being banned yet they know all these transgressions. You must first rebuke what you know your people are doing don’t ignore it then want to be treated as normal human beings yet you behave so strange…. How are you raised?! The Seychelles government has announced that following various incidents including Nigerians in recent weeks, the Cabinet has requested that the Immigration Department exercise greater scrutiny on the entry of Nigerian into Seychelles.
The announcement came following the Cabinet of Ministers meeting at State House on Wednesday.
The incidents being referenced to included the arrest of 13 Nigerian citizens within the last two weeks with drugs.
Furthermore, 62 Nigerian citizens were allegedly involved in fraudulent activities at various tourism establishments.
The government says it is in the process of initiating discussions with the Nigerian authorities for the deportation of Nigerian nationals involved in drug trafficking activities with the view of handing them over to the Nigerian law enforcement authorities.
Wow Sassy, I dug a little more into this and the comments following various articles were something to behold- “monsters, drug-runners and peddlers, evil people, uncivilized, etc. “… similar to what happened in Dubai and other places. I would think that the Nigerian authorities would be interested in responding for some clarification, but no. Just when I thought that Nigerians were beginning to reclaim their reputations, it appears that my hopes are unfounded and further improvement of Nigeria’s global image will need to be implemented... thanks again Sassy for your timely and relevant content and for providing a forum to discuss these pertinent issues!

Thank you @Sassy Funke. This is great content. BUT what Seychelles didn't say is THEY DIDN'T COMPLETELY BANNED NIGERIANS.My visa to the seychelles was approved days ago. There is a strategy to this and the information is not out there yet.Some Nigerians are just messed up but I think they realised that not all Nigerians are bad. We are one of the best any country can have.

Sassy, that ban, if true, is definitely a hard pill to swallow, but the honest question is: if they were to have a distinction, where would they draw the line? It's a tough one. Do you think I would want them to include you and the many other lovely Nigerians in the unfortunate ban? Absolutely not! the texts of African Union do not allow his memebers to ban each other state members. Seychelles is not really an african nation.

Doubt if they can ban an entire nation. But they will make it very hard. Truthfully a lot countries are red flagging nigerians. Its messed up but at some point its not out of the question in the book of those countries. Some nigerians are really known for kicking up dust. Going to certain places and loudly critiquing the local population any chance they get. With some nigerians everything is a loud arrogant critique. Also some love perticipating in the dark world of life, the hustle. if u know what I mean....thse nigerians have built this reputation loud and clear within these countries and they are fed up with the arrogance. If you are a nation. And u see most of ure tourist who are doing this or that seem to come from a 1 certain location u will think to solve it all is to make it tough for them to enter.....

This is good news..this may sound like an extreme view..but with the state of the Nigerian economy Nigerians needs to learn to stay in their home country much more and reduce the demand for forex..develop our own tourism sector before going to other countries and spoiling Nigeria's already flagging image..every feature that is available in Seychelles is present here in Nigeria weather it be the beaches etc..but Nigerians being Nigerians must enter aeroplane by force..the Vice President of the Seychelles recently commented on this issue noting that many Nigerians who come their are involved in different forms of credit card scam..meaning that they didnt even have sufficient funds to be able to afford an authentic holiday in the first place or that tragically Nigerians are just criminally minded people..this is a very unfortunate reflection and as a traveler myself I always try to exhibit the best in my behaviour and conduct knowing when in foreign lands knowing that I not only represent myself but my family and a nation.
