  • Yup, it finally happened. We sold our Airstream RV along with our GMC Sierra 2500HD, but we're not going without a truck living in the desert.

I've been a long time viewer of yours from just around when you were retiring and moving into the Airstream. Many of the videos revolved around early retirement, downsizing, and minimizing the materialistic clutter that prevented you from doing many of the things you really wanted to do. It inspired me and helped me to prepare for my own version of early retirement coming up in the next few months at 51 years old. I've watched as you have changed your focus from full time travel to off-grid living and it is great that your early retirement affords you the opportunity to make these changes. You have improved and expanded your estate to make it very much your own. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on how you maintain your focus of not allowing too many material thing into your life to remain relatively decluttered and financially free.

So glad you have found your place and also that you had the whole RV experience!! We love our home base and still exploring by RV…. We do understand the challenges of that though… and it can get exhausting…. One day we too will switch gears and sell the RV though.

I found you because of Airstreaming (I have a 2007 Interstate and previously a 1986 classic mh). I love your content and will continue to watch your videos because of the great content. It’s a hard decision, but looking forward is the only way to go forward!
    Love the red truck!

Hi guys - boy that was easy selling your Airstream. I agree with you, I would hate to see our motorhome just setting around collecting dust and rust. There is always another RV out there if you change your mind. Pepper is so cute on the sofa. All the best to you both!! 😊💞🇺🇸

Nice touch buying the new sewer hose! You guys had an adventure of a lifetime travelling around the country in the Airstream. Here's to many more new adventures!

I have a 2016 F150, and its the most quiet, smooth driving and nicely designed vehicle I have ever owned. It has its issues, but I kinda like it. Its way nicer than my dad's GMC.

We have enjoyed your videos for years. Adaptation is the key to life. Many changes for lots of folks recently and coming for many.
This time last year we were in your neck of the woods, camping and scouting out potential areas for retirement. Love the Southwest, however the water situation has us reconsidering. Understood no region is perfect. Your solar system info was very enlightening(no pun intended).Very interested in seeing how your well and water catchment systems work through this year and beyond.

Congrats on the sale of both your truck and Airstream. We had gone off the road to property manage a campground in Fl in 2014 for six years. In 2021 we hit the road again where we were camp hosting in the CO mountains. In 2022 we became the management team for the 16 USFS campgrounds in our district, but due to the crazy prices have not upgraded yet from our 23' Lance travel trailer. We keep going back & forth on whether to get a bigger travel trailer, a motorhome, or even a park model that gives us more room to spread out in when we aren't working 24/7 supporting our hard-working crews up in those canyons and mountain passes. If we went the park model route (can't get too far away from needing to deposit all that green stuff and download the mega data we need hourly and daily), we might get a Class B to travel in the between seasons, which means another park model in FL where we do eldercare all winter for the next few years. Life is short, dynamic, and always changing. We enjoyed following you guys for several years, keep having those adventures! We had a strawbale off-grid house in S. CO 2005-2008 before we went full-timing and we'd probably still be there, but working from home in 2008 was still science fiction (Wild Blue Satellite Internet) and aerospace was a big roller coaster. When I got replaced by 2 Pakistan Engineers in 2008, it was time to go full-time RVing, LOL. Cheers!

You guys! Wow congratulations on selling your rig! Ours didn't take long to sell either. Turns out AIRSTREAMS are a good investment! On to new adventures! We ended up downsizing our Airstream and then the Super C and now a 17 foot Sol Eclipse and we couldn't be happier. We also bought a tiny house and love that freedom of staying put or travel and not a lot of household (home base) responsibilities because we put our tiny home in a RV resort! Living in an RV and traveling was never going to be a permanent thing. Two years in the Super C was good for us. I really do love having a home base. Especially now with times so uncertain. Be well.. be safe...

Others who were fulltimers for years till they found a place to settle down have managed with a truck camper so they can still travel occaasionally, without needing a big rig. Your current home seems idyllic - a good decision for you.

Long time follower here and as a fellow Airstreamer since 2014, it’s a bit sad to see your Airstream that served as your home for several years. That being said, I totally get it and change is good moving forward onto new adventures! Loved seeing your pups again as it’s been too long since we’ve seen both of them. In past two years, we’ve only used our own Airstream for a one week trip to Oregon coast but planning on some trips this summer and fall. We moved cross country early June 2020 from east coast. We now live in western Nevada with backyard views of snow capped Sierra Range and shirt drive to Lake Tahoe, so we’re definitely in our happy place right at home. Enjoying gardening with fenced in yard to keep critters at bay. Our pup too enjoys the new digs with her own doggy door providing full access to nice size yard to play and race zoomies at will as she pleases. Looking forward to your continued adventures at your homestead or along with your travels! Thanks for taking us along!

I was already aware of the direction you are taking, of course, but watching this episode was still somewhat bittersweet for me. You know, though, that I totally understand and support this because you have to do YOU and nobody else. This makes so much sense every way you look at it. Plus I am pleased that Charlie and Bosley are able to stay together. It just feels right. The entire deal makes it feel like they are still in the "family" so to speak so job well done, my friends!

Sorry to see the Airstream go, but life changes and we move on to where we want to be. I love the desert southwest and have been thinking of how to best enjoy it, whether via rv travel, buying some land and building a small getaway, or something else entirely. I'm not there yet (still working full time), but hopefully some day I will have a piece of that in my life.

Well it's finally over they become house people no more traveling unless it's by plane I'm sure and they did it they went from a real truck to a SUV that looks like a truck Man when it goes downhill that goes downhill. All in fun but when it comes to the truck really anything that starts with a 15 is not a truck it's an SUV we all know it we've all driven them and drive like cars good luck with a new truck kind of.
