Fifth trailer unpacking time! A new locale called the Oilwell Basin, an underground mountainous area with a LOT of tar or oil just everywhere. The piping we see is likely remnants of an older civilization or possibly made by the ancient ancestors of Azuz tribe to control this natural oil for their own purposes or to just move it out of the way. The intense weather shift if this locale seems to be everything catches fire. I doubt all of the gunk is literwlly byproduct waste from village/settlement of Azuz nearby. New monsters! Rompopolo, apparently Italian, a Brute Wyvern with DISGUSTING bug parts and weird balloon sacks on its back that are filled with some kind of toxic gas. If it had to guess its sharp nose and sickle claws are meant to stab and pin prey while it’s horrible tongue drains their fluids, or he eats the random oil gunk off the floor. Ajarakan, a possibly Buddhism inspired Fanged Beast, same class as Rajang, Arzuros, and Gammoth. Some kind of mammal, it’s a big fire monkey. They seem to cover them selves in oil to light them selves ablaze and then wrestle things. They also appear to fight in pairs. If I had to guess, this thing is a similar tier to Doshaguma or Anjanath. As for the third guy, “The Black Flame.” Freaky oil covered octopus guy. His name is currently undisclosed because of course it would be, Capcom is teasing us. The Black Flame is the apex of the region, same as how Rey Dau and Uth Duna were for the prior locales. He arrives during the Fire Spring, but got attracted to the Everforge going haywire. Many are wondering if this guy is an Elder Dragon like Nakarkos or Yama Tsukami, but considering he’s fairly low on the pecking order in the grand scheme of things, I’m assuming he is the start of a brand new cephalopod classification. Also, open public beta next Thursday/Friday! Open for four days, it has crossplay, we get to play Wilds!
I'm assuming the Octopus's classification MIGHT just be why they haven't given us the name for the creature already. It's either that or this thing is...somehow more significant to the story than Arkveld himself? Either way, I think we should be super hype by the fact that his name wasn't dropped.
@@galaxyknight2869 We’ll likely see more of it either before or after game launch since if it is a new classification it is a big massive deal. Plus we already have footage of Arkveld beefing with the two prior Apexes already, I’m prepared to see Arkveld fight this octopus too
Fun fact, on the Wilds website, all monsters, including Arkveld, the flagship, had been named after their trailers. But the Black Flame, the massive octopus thingie, got NO name drop, keeping its special mythical title. This thing is officially something else... The lance move from the air is the return of skyward thrust from Rise, the best aerial move lance had and one of the most Broken moves in the game if used correctly against certain monsters in certain ways.
Rompopolo is creepy and grotesque in all the right ways, and it uses the brute wyvern skeleton in an amazingly unconventional way. It’s unironically my favorite Wilds design so far. And I can’t wait to make some deep-fried calamari with the Black Flame.
Im gonna listen to the reaction, but im gonna duck out from watching, ive already pre-ordered, i know the game is gonna be great, im just gonna wait till i get to experience it fresh for the first time! I hope your hearing has gotten better! i ALSO hope that we can organize hunting lobbies so we can all explore and enjoy all the new cool shit :D This will be your first monster hunter game youll get to play on release, where EVERYONE is on equal terms, prepare yourself for the long haul and try to stay consistent! with playing it! you wouldnt want to just do 10 hunts a month now would you? lets get you into the thick of it and get you on the same level as the fans so you can just straight into the DLCs when they launch, theres nothing like diving into a fresh hunt as it drops.
