    I used to shoot recurve bow all the time I used to hunt with one when I bow hunted I hope it turns out good for you keep up the good work and have a great day.

      It's on the list of things to do. I plan on getting it finished before archery season this year. Hopefully sooner rather than later so I can start to practice with it.
      I wish I had more Osage being handed out to me! Haha.

      Sorry, I volunteer as a high school wrestling coach, and that has been eating up a lot of my free time. I should be getting back to some projects soon. Keep an eye out.

    hey dude so you dont use the heart of the tree ? i mean the realy hard part ?it is locust right ? you recommend to use the withe part ? not the yellow heart? ( im not english sorry ^^)

      This is hickory and with hickory you are supposed to use the sap wood because it has higher tensile strength than the heart wood. Pretty much any where you are in the world you can find a wood that will perform well enough for bow making but each has different properties. The all around best bow wood is agreed to be osage orange and that type of wood you use the heart wood and remove all the sap wood. So depending on where you are and what types of wood you have available to you, you will have to research what wood you decide to use and the best way to make a bow from it.
