Just a quick note to let you know we love your feedback and suggestions! We read it all and will incorporate as much of it as possible 😃 - Jay
You really do a really great scientific test , 👍👍👍👍👍
These reviews are the high quality, high integrity content that MTB UA-cam needs.
Hey thanks! - Jay
This is great, hope to see more of these comparisons. Has a "Project farm" vibe to it, but for bikes.
Thanks! More to come. - Jay
Project farm is so good. That but just mtb stuff would be amazing. Really get into testing every product in a variety of ways.
i cant wait for the tool episode and the park tools quality gets destroyed.
My thoughts exactly!
Torque Test Channel is another good one
I'm impressed by tools and creativity used for testing. Good job!
The test rigs were definitely fun to dream up. - Jay

duuuude you deserve so many more views that you get. Can't believe you aren't more known. These tests are fantastic! project farm fort mtb! im in!
Glad you like them! - Jay
Outstanding! Never seen another review like it. I've been mountain biking since the late 80"s starting off with rigid hardtails. Since then, I've owned hardtails with suspension forks and full suspension bikes. Been through a lot of grips over time. Like you, I prefer comfort and durability first. I prefer grips close to 30mm. I'm a trail rider with not a lot of huge decents, and I do ware gloves most of the time. My old hands aren't as forgiving as they used to be. Grips are a personal preference, but your tests were very informative to say the least. Thanks for your outstanding effort!!
Thank you for leaving a comment - glad you found some of the information useful! - Jay
Dude, impressive comparison. You helped me out choosing my next grip! Great job!

Elite test ! Impressive, thank you 😍
Professionally done. Always informative and even somewhat entertaining in its own way.
Thanks for the feedback! - Jay
Often overlooked because many of us simply buy grips which we like the looks of or what we're used to - great to see some science helping to sway the decision/choice. Brilliant review - there should be awards for comparisons this good!
Thanks for the comment! - Jay

This video was FANTASTIC! I rarely comment on these kind of videos so here you go lol. Thank you for your research and experiments :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing a rare comment! 😃 - Jay
That's a pretty cool video! Most objective one that I've seen. I've been considering getting the Lizard Skins Northshore grips. Similar to the Oury's but with a gnarled pattern all over the squares.
Thanks for the feedback. Hope your grip choice worked out well for you! - Jay
I started watching this video thinking yeah right whatever. As you pulled out the rig I half rolled my eyes. Every subsequent sentence describing the rig and how it is going to work made me smile more and more. I absolutely love the effort you've done to, I stopped the video so I could make this comment, now back to watching.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! :) - Jay
This is a really great video! I wish Rev Grips were included to test there vibration dampening... maybe for V2 of this vid!
Thanks for the suggestion. - Jay
Great video and very thorough, as usual. Personally I wouldn't use grips that do not have a plastic or alloy end cap. I've clipped too many trees with the end of the bar and with the full rubber grips I've almost had some crashes. The grips with plastic / alloy end caps will just deflect off of the tree and are also more durable. I was using Odi Ruffian Lock-on Grips and loved them but they do wear out somewhat quick so I would have to turn them about a quarter turn every couple of months as the grip would start wearing down smooth and causing hand pain because you're basically grabbing plastic at that point. I just bought a pair of RevGrips Pro Series RG5 Grips and put them on my bike last week. I've only got 2 rides on them and they were a bit of a PITA to put on but I do love the grip itself. The claims of vibration dampening may be dubious as the trails I ride have a lot of long rock gardens and your hands take quite a beating and I didn't really notice a difference with the RevGrips. I don't get arm pump though so maybe in my specific situation they can't help. I'm curious to see how long the grips last before wearing smooth.
Great tip, thanks for sharing. - Jay
First video I have watched on this channel and it’s definitely a sub
Hey, Thanks! - Jay
Wow! Appreciate all the work to get the results
I appreciate the kind words, thank you! - Jay
Really enjoyed the comparisons, I hope more people jump on this channel. I'd love to see your comparisons on XC foam grips too!
Thanks for the note! If I do another round I'll add in some foam grips. - Jay
@@SimplyMountainBiking hi!!! Thank you, looking forward to your next project!

Thank you for sharing your experience. - Jay
Nice review I have yeti ODI and just ordered PNW.

Great, thank you! - Jay
Great video! I hope you do a comparison video on bike specific grease in the future.
Thank you for the idea - Jay
Elite video man
AMAZING I was struggling to find a grip now that I watched this video I might get the ergon ge1
Glad you found it helpful! - Jay
Brilliant dude! An engineer's wet dream. Always was Ergon, but want more comfort with DMR death grips and/or ODI elite. But all are sound choices!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the note. - Jay
PNW is definitely still my favorite.
Great video, as always! Very detailed and precise.
Glad you have one you like! Thanks for the comment. - Jay
regular or XL?
@@YanicEtoCharles regular. Feel great on the hands, and very grippy. Also got the entire PNW cockpit setup. Stem, bars, dropper lever, and grips of course. Best cockpit I've ever had!
I really don’t understand how you don’t have more subs
😃
Outstanding work! This reminds me of the ProjectFarm channel! You need to say "Very Impressive" when you are impressed with a result! 🤣 💪🙏
Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed it - Jay
Well done… you earned a new subscriber!
Thanks for the feedback. Welcome! - Jay
The scientific approach you took here impressed me. Great data
Thats definitely the most scientific mountain bike experiment I've ever seen, I'm pretty impressed.
Still dont know which ones to buy though 😂
I think I'll get the Ergon grips but in the softer factory version and give them a go.
Hope your grip choice worked out for you! - Jay
I’m a fan of project farm too! Nice video!
Thanks 👍 - Jay
Great methodology, good watch even though I don't actually need new grips :-D
I was hoping that you'd test Revgrips! But I suppose they are expensive and therefore not the most popular grips around.
Thanks for checking it out! I might test out the Revgrips in the future if there's enough demand! - Jay
What a video...loads of help
Great! - Jay
I'm a road rider, but I love the comparison videos on this channel. Can I please make a request? Can you do a comparison video of mini pumps?
Thanks for the idea. We'll put it on your backlog! - Jay
this video is above and beyond!
Appreciate the comment - Jay
I love the scientific approach to this!
Guy at the bike shop recommended Oury grips to me, and I'll never look back! I wanted to try them because I have bad wrist pain, and they're pretty padded. I liked them so much, I put them on my other bike too.
Great, thanks for the tip! - Jay
I don’t need grips right now so I’m saving this video to re-watch when I do need new ones.
Great! Glad you found it helpful. - Jay
Your reviews are close to scientific. You deserve a subscribe. Keep it up.
Much appreciated! - Jay
Subscribed.... Nice work. Gimme more
Thanks! More to come! - Jay
great review ,kinda thought comfort would have been a test but i guess thats subjective
Thanks. Yeah, I considered several aspects, like comfort, but decided they would be difficult to rate consistently. Thanks for the note! - Jay
I didn't see a link to the Deity's. Sorry if I missed it. Great video. Would love to see one of gloves. I subscribed.
Thanks for the idea and the sub! There isn't a link for the Deitys yet, thanks for trying to find one :). - Jay
nice data.....thanks for the effort
Thanks! - Jay
Project Farm for mountain biking! I like it! My Oury's are 3 years old and still going strong!
Great! - Jay
I really didn't know I needed this 😂
😀
I like your nerdy Test!
Thank you! - Jay
Dude you went way above and beyond the call of duty! Awesome review! Suggestion: slow down please, especially when recapping. I had to pause every time to examine the results. Update: I just went back and warched the recap at 50% speed and still had trouble pausing it in time to see results lol 😅
Thank you for the feedback! - Jay
love the testing. i do feel you actually rushed at the end where you flash the grades. i would like to see the entire grade chart to compare as well as all the numbers. i’m also hoping you can do the evo factory and oneup thin, regular grips. did u test the glove pull with the grips turned towards the grippier side rather than just the top? i feel some grips have more textures at certain angles below the grip not on top.
I think on the dry/wet test, it’s probably worth it to mention the consistency for when it’s dry vs wet and not just who has the most grip.
Great callout! - Jay
Nice work. Would like to see a table with all results together.
Thanks for the feedback, will consider adding that in future comparison videos. - Jay
Thank you for this. Now im going to choose deity :)
Glad you enjoyed it! - Jay
I really want to commend you on this, not many folks are willing to go through the mission of testing "scientifically". Dang good job.
Thank you so much - Jay
great review
I appreciate the note! - Jay
Felicidades, Chingon el video
¡Gracias! - Jay
Very nice Test ! I suspect you've learned a thing or 2 from the Project Farm...
Thanks for the feedback! Project Farm does some great videos! - Jay
Big project farm vibes and I love it. This could be a whole genre
Scrolled down waiting for the project farm comment!
😀
Damn dude this really felt like a Project Farm video, and I mean that in a really good way
Appreciate the feedback! - Jay

Awesome, welcome! - Jay
Could you also test saddle comfort. There are a variety of saddles for mountain bikes. It is a very personal choice. However, I noticed some saddles are very stiff with little cushion foam while others more recreational are more beefy and thick.
Thank you for the suggestions. - Jay
great effort
Thank you - Jay
Great test 👍
But no ESI or other silicone grips?
I've tried several of these grips over the past few years and only ESI gave the comfort I was looking for. They're not lock on though and durability isn't great.
Still, would have liked to see them in the comparison.
Thanks for the comment. I'll consider including some silicone grips if I do a future grouping. 😃 - Jay
Another vote for the ESI racers edge grips 🙂 so far no grip has matched the vibration dampening and comfort level of these grips. Just wish they were more durable.
@@specializedbighitfsrOh Yes I agree, if you touch, juste a little some tree, or something else, the grip will break instant
Project Farm level of quality in your testing methodology.... thanks.
Kind words, thank you! -Jay
3 minutes in and i have to say i'm impressed
Thanks for the comment! - Jay
should try the gd1 next time as well
Thanks for the suggestion. - Jay
Impressive testing setup. However I wish more people cared about supporting American made brands. Oury, ODI, as well as the unrepresented ESI are all great options.
Thank you for sharing! - Jay
from the old school; we wanted soft compound, pliable grippy, non-slip grips. The problem was always grips slipping on the bars, so we had methods of gluing them on. Later, everyone thought they had better grips but they just kept getting worse and worse over time. i'm glad that i bought a lifetime supply back then, cant get the good ones anymore. tires are the same.
Sounds like you stocked up on some good quality grips! -Jay
ODIs then. Thanks good sir!
Nice choice. 😀 - Jay
recently bought ergon ga2 and it’s so uncomfortable fatigue on hands and arms is worse than my stock grips thinking about the odi
I just put some long neck bmx grips and bar ends on my mtb 👌😎
Nice! - Jay
Used almost all of those grips. I go back to ESI extra chunky
Thanks for sharing your experience. - Jay
