    Egyptian authorities unveiled five newly discovered tombs in the Saqqara necropolis, located south of the Egyptian capital Cairo. The five tombs belonged to senior royal officials, according to Mostafa Waziri, the head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities. The country’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said that one belonged to a top official named Iry, while the others belonged to different members of the royal court. This included a "steward of the royal house” and a priestess responsible for the king's “beautification.”

    Intriguing. I always wanted to be an archaeologist so I can do things like this. I have always loved history and it was my favorite subject in school. Ancient Egypt is one of my top favorites. I am a fan of Dr. Zahi Hawass for those that are familiar with him.

    I find it so interesting how elaborately these tombs are painted/carved yet walls inside the 3 great pyramids are completely barren. Why would they build a structure with a million blocks, each the size of a car, and encase the entire thing in granite. There is only one logical explanation. They're not tombs. I guarantee that they will not be broadcasting live as they open the chamber above the grand gallery.

    You can really tell the difference in the tombs for officials of the royal court vs the pharaoh's tomb. I mean its nice and all but its nowhere near the lavish decoration and quality of workmanship of a tomb for a pharaoh.

      because that's how we learn ... little left from 4k+ years ago outside of tombs - the benefits outweigh the losses, I'd say. plus, their names and history gets to live on in our imagination - which it wouldn't, trapped under earth and sand.

      @@pandoraheartsvd I'm actually looks a lot into African history. The thing is, I'm only saying that it would not be accurate to count Ancient Egyptian as "Black" based on modern definitions. While I'm not saying that there are no "black population" live in the territories which controls by ancient Egyptian authorities; the majority of population in the Upper Egypt is not "Black African". And Africa itself is full of civilization which are diverse. For "Black" civilizations, you should looks into the history of Songhai Empire and Mali Empire. Also Nubia, Kingdom of Aksum and etc.

    • @pandoraheartsvd
      @pandoraheartsvd 2 роки тому +2

      @@Valkyrie_Yukikaze Modern Egypt is diverse because of colonization of white and non black Arab people. Before ancient Egypt was diverse because of different African tribes but they weren't different races like we view today. Race is a term created by eurocentric ideology and was created much later. And I do look into ancient black civilizations. I'm well educated in ancient histories and ancient societies and cultures. I have a degree in this field and wrote many thesis papers on these topics. Including ancient Asia.

    Looking at how crude and ragged the statues and hieroglyphs are it is certain now more than ever the Great Pyramid dynasty predated this tomb by at least 100,000 years or more. The civilization that traveled the globe and brought Pyramid building knowledge to all the continents is completely lost to history but for a few relics, this tomb looks like it was drawn by children.
