I stumbled onto lost lakes last fall, as way to get away from working in the ICU after traveling to CA had been closed so long. I became quickly addicted thereafter. His videos are really films so artfully shot and such incredible scenery and, wildlife, fishing, night-sky's, Nlights etc. It's hard to beat Jon's ability to capture N.Ont's beauty.

If you're nuts then I guess I am too, love these videos........I'm recently retired, turn 60 next month, and will be able to spend more time in my canoe and doing some tripping as well, just not real remote like Budnik and John, but tripping none the less. My canoe is a Old Town Discovery 169, so portaging is not something I'll be able to really do with the shoulder issues I have.

I love your content man. You seemingly take a plain, ordinary vlogumentary into a wholesome experience. You know how to just talk enough, but not too much to the point I’m already on to the next video in my scroll feed. You can tell when people do this for the views, and those who do it for the love of doing it. Whatever it is that’s being done, you’re there; in the moment.
You captivated that here perfectly. Congratulations on your success, Sir. Keep living.

You did it again, Jon. Another trip, another home run. I'm happy to hear your knee held up even if the portages weren't too strenuous. And your photography was top-notch. The northern lights vignette with the music you set it to was truly magical and the shot of your silhouette and the lights reflecting in the water was worthy of a top, professional cinematographer. I could have watched that for hours. Now that the fall season is turning to winter, I suppose you'll be do some deep winter trips again. I enjoy those but not nearly as much as the summer/fall trips that truly show off that unimaginable far north country you guys in Canada are blessed with. Peace, brother.

Wow, it’s awesome to see you well and in your happy place! You have been through so much since February, it saddens me to know horrible it must have been.
Years ago I had a “Locked Knee”. On crutches for six months. Tried everything and everyone.
Then one AM while brushing my teeth, BOOB, this pop, and it was unlocked. Simply a miserable six months! I’m so glad you are well again!!

Hey man! Been watching your videos for a while now, and ive dropped a couple comments here and there to make suggestions. Im so impressed with your ability to capture the soul of our region in northern ontario so well. If you are ever looking for a good adventure this winter you are always welcome here in northeastern ontario. Spanish forest would fit your channel perfectly. One of the oldest red and white pine forests in the entire world. Cheers!

Your channel brings my inner camping and adventurous soul peace!
I feel like you have a lifeline to those adults who’ve been truly shaped by the fire that is camping in the wilderness! Going on adventures and not knowing your destination. And also using lots of tents common sense and your natural surroundings for food shelter (help anyhow) and warmth. Love it!!! I camped almost 30 years now right across from the East Branch of Presque Isle Springs… you must know that it makes quite the trek from upper Wisconsin thru UP into Superior!
Love it! Huge Beavers huge dragonflies and a great long sidewinder of a canoe trip to Sandborn Lake! One of my favorite adventures. God Bless you! And may you continue finding more Lost lAkes!!

You should take snapshots, or stills, of some of that beautiful scenery and sell the digitals.
I loved the way you had the tip of the canoe facing that absolutely amazing tree line! What a shot that would be! Imagine that on a metal print!

@LostLakes We are loving the new format. Love the wild life videography. Especially the attention to the smaller specimens. Please don’t stumble again carrying you canoe. Heart in mouth moment. Jon when you drank the unfiltered water whilst out in your canoe, I thought about what we do caravanning around Australia. And the idea originally came from your channel. It’s the LifeStraw but mounted in a drink bottle. Much more practical that the original LifeStraw you showed on one or your eps. All the best. Hope you recovery continues well. No commercial affiliation with LifeStraw.
