    Just curious, how come you used two motors? Awesome build btw

    • @Alytra-ki7fd
      @Alytra-ki7fd  4 місяці тому +1

      The 2 motors are connected to two different sprockets for different speeds. 1 is connected to a large sprocket that gives high torque but low speed, 20mph or so. The other motor is connected to a much smaller sprocket that has low torque but high speed; it should make me go much faster if the sprocket doesn't bend or break.

      @@Alytra-ki7fd That's cool, so two different gears pretty much. I'm assuming you will have some sort of button or switch to change between the two

      yep, the two foot pedals will each control a motor. All I'll have to do is push one down and it will activate the motor, push the other foot pedal down and it will activate the other motor.

    hello you know you can use one throtle for 2 esc to control at the same time and the esc at the botem what if you take a bumb ?

    • @Alytra-ki7fd
      @Alytra-ki7fd  4 місяці тому +2

      I thought of that as well, but with these ESCs, they only have one port to connect the throttle to. I could connect extra wires from the throttle into the second ESC, but then I would have to manually turn off and on the ESC that I want so that I don't power both at the same time. It's a lot easier just to have two pedals so I can move my foot from one pedal to the other and have power at demand. As for hitting a bump, I'm (hoping) its high enough off the ground so it doesn't hit it, we shall see in the future. How were you thinking about connecting both ESCs to one throttle? I would love to know and thank you for watching.

      @@Alytra-ki7fd you just need to make parallel exits from throtle to both esc to regulate both in same time

      I want to control them separately at different times. The motors are connected to sprockets that are different sizes. The wheels will turn at different speeds if I power both ESCs at the same time; which is what I don't want.

      @@Alytra-ki7fd i was thinking to do the same first, then i thought but wait 1. if motor have maximum speed and you put one ratio on it and with other motor you put smaller ratio it will spin much more than its rated for 2. That motor with smaller ratio will take much more energy/power and probably gona overheat. What do you think about that

    • @Alytra-ki7fd
      @Alytra-ki7fd  4 місяці тому +2

      The motors will spin at the same speed, its the sprockets that will have different speeds; and the sprockets are connected to the axel which are also connected to the wheels.
      For example lets say the small sprocket on the motor itself has 11 teeth and we connect it to a larger sprocket with 55 teeth, with a chain. the motor itself will have to rotate 5 times in order for the 55 tooth sprocket to spin 1 time. That's how it is on one side of my go-kart.
      The other motor on the other side also has a 11 tooth sprocket on it. I connect that motor to a sprocket with 22 teeth, with a chain. The motor itself will have to rotate 2 times in order to make the 22 tooth sprocket rotate 1 time.
      This means the 22 tooth sprocket spins faster than the 55 tooth sprocket even when the speed of the motors are the same.
      what I'm describing is called "gear ratios"
      And you are right, the motor with the smaller sprocket will consume more power because it will be harder for the motor to turn such a small sprocket. I expect that motor to get a little hotter than the other one, but I don't think it will overheat and melt, it has pretty thick copper wirers on the inside, but we shall see.
      I just finished the go-kart today, it works, I will show and explain the sprockets in the next video that I will be posting soon.
