Being an Indian who grew up eating curry everyday, I really wanna try Japanese curry. That beef curry in the beginning looks delicious, looks kinda like the mutton curry my gramma used to make. 😋
It's milder than Indian curry, so you might be a bit underwhelmed in terms of spiciness. It's also more delicate, and tends to be slightly sweet. But do give it a try, I'd say it's still pretty satisfying.
@@pugward lol not all Indian curry are spicy. India is huge and each region has a different concept of flavour and a different method of cooking. The curry you usually eat in indian restaurants in the west is north indian or west Indian. There are way more spicier food in India like in the north east and much sweeter flavour as well like 'malai curry'. But yes the Japanese curry available here in restaurants are way too 'Indianised' I feel. I'll have to try it in Japan in the near future (hopefully). Lol.

CocoCurry is a great place but they are known for toning down the curry served to foreigners. More than likely if you order a level 10 spicey curry what you will actually get will be a level 7 spicey curry.
You had to have level 5 in the past before you order level 10. If you order level 10, waiter asks you "have you ever eaten level 5 or hotter?", if you are lucky in English.
If you really want to order level 10 ask it in Japanese. Just say jyu-kara and you really get the spiciest one. Ive tried to order in English before. It was definitely nerfed haha
I love Japanese curry when I tasted it the first time, it's what I always ordered whenever it's available. It's not as spicy as I thought it would be like the Indian curry I love but it's still good and delicious.
I clicked on this video specifically hoping that you visited Coco Ichibanya. Fell in love with that chain during my trip to Japan. Couldn't get enough of it!

Ridiculously good eating.
