OMG YOU'RE HILARIOUS "Kayley who? I don't know her." "I'm gonna be honest, I feel like bloggers are doing calculus with their outfits, and I'm just trying to add." FREAKING GOLD, RIGHT THERE!
You are missing the point of the scrunchi. To not damage your hair. But before using it every time you use a hair tie that does rip and pull at your hair. It's not really about bringing it back, for curly girls it's never gone out of style as it helps protect.
No that IS the point of them. So less breakage. To do the way the video uses them, its like turning the scrunchy into just a regular add in, and not actually helpful
I bought two scrunchies a year ago and have been using them to make a lazy hairstyle a bit more polished when I’m late for a party or work. High ponytail, with a scrunchie. Topknot, with a scrunchie. Simple braid, with a scrunchie.
I remember all of middle school having a scrunchie to match every outfit. We also thought it was cool back then to have an extra scrunchie worn around your wrist
For quick reference: 1:52 loose, low ponytail 2:55 ponytail half-updo 4:33 double chignon ❤️ 5:43 long side-braid secure with a statement scrunchie ❤️ 7:23 top-knot with a statement scrunchie 9:05 top-knot half-updo with curly hair and a matching scrunchie ❤️
as someone with super curly and thick hair i personally love scrunchies. they don’t pull on my hair and cause it to break as much as regular hair ties do. i also straighten my hair sometimes so scrunchies are super helpful bc they don’t leave that weird bump thing in my hair. i have always loved them and i think that they are making such a fashion comeback.
I have always worn scrunchies because my hair is so thick. Regular hair ties are too small and I feel like they tug on my hair a lot more. I wear them proud!
When scrunchies first came out, I wasn't in to them, but lately ive been kinda diggng them and especially now after watching ur vid. I think imma gonna need to buy me some!
I was so sad when scrunchies went away. They're an easy item to use to get that hair out of the way. I often used it to make ponytails. My favorite was the super loose ponytail. Where you put it in super low, almost to the bottom of the hair. Kind alike your side braid. Then you pull the hair out above it to create bubble. Works best without layers. I love these. Thank you!
Oh my god the 80's sequence I'm crying!! Kayley I've always loved your videos but somehow you have upped your game EVEN MORE in 2018 and you are honestly killing it. Love how your quirky humor is showing through more and more. Love you!
When I was in 7th grade I found one of my moms scrunchies and I used it because I needed a hair tie and the kids in my class laughed at me 🙁 that was a sad day
Alessya Delgado When I was in 2nd or 3rd grade and my birthday came around I asked my mom to curl my hair so I could feel "special". I got laughed at by most of my class because I looked kinda like Shirley Temple.. ended up running to the bathroom crying and the teacher had sent a friend of mine to cheer me up. People are so mean sometimes 😡😒
I remember when I was in 4th grade I had my sister put my hair in a bun one day and I loved it but the kids in my class made fun of me because of the hair stick securing it. They called me Wilma Flintstone for using sticks in my hair. I went home in tears over it. People can be jerks.
Dang I get that, in like 2nd grade I wore my hair up in space buns and got made fun of a ton. I finally wore them again in 9th grade and got made fun of again and havent ever since...
When I saw you dancing at 2:25 I was like "OMG DO YOU DO BALLET?! YOURE SO GRACEFUL I CANT BELIEVE MY FAVOURITE UA-camR DOES BALLET LIKE I DO!"...but you were probably just dancing for fun 😬
Haha! I mean I did ballet for 10+ years, but I'm pretty rusty now! The outfit made me feel like a movie musical star / Disney princess so I had an embarrassing amount of footage of me dancing 🙈🙈😂
Im watchinh with my hair up in a scrunchie. Tbh im almost 41 and have never truly stopped us8ng them. I love that grey velvet and the pink velvet one, where did you get it?
Hahaha I'm 36 and I went through a short period in the early 2000s where I thought they were lame but kept them and realized how much better for my hair they were by about 2005. I only took a short break from them lol!
Angela Jung yeah i agree with you there, i use one for sleeping as i have to have my hair up in a pony tail out of the way and it stops breakage and stops pulling on the roots!
The herbal essences shine collection, shampoo and conditioner leaves your hair SMOOTH and SHINY without leaving it greasy and dirty. I saw a difference in my hair soon after I started using it. My hair feels way healthier and looks way better when I wake up! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND
How do you do it? Your hair became way thicker in like four years, and it is visible even on the braids, they are thicker even before you pull them apart! I have fine hair, similar to the kind you had like four years ago so please, pretty please, share your secrets. ♥
I know, I know. :D Sadly, in this video, she didn´t braid it all from her hair, but still, if you watch some of her older videos, her hair looks way thicker now. :D
Kateřina Černá she has a video where she talked about how she gets her hair cut and what to ask for. It’s layered differently than most long haircuts so the ends aren’t as tiny when she does braids.
I rock your 90s, 80s, and messy bun hairstyles almost everyday haha, scrunchies are amazing and my go to hair accessory, I have one in all of my bags just in case, this video speaks to me on a spiritual level 👌🏼
As someone who was a preteen/teenager during the 90’s I was actually happy to see that scrunchies was coming back in fashion. It was my ride or die hairitem back then and now it has once again a place among my hairstuff.
I've been using them for years. My hair is prone to breaking because it's brittle and dry (no matter what do!) And scrunchies don't damage the hair like elastics do. I don't care if anyone likes them or not frankly!! My hair comfort is far more important. And it's allowed me to finally get my hair grown long after years of trying with no luck. Now i keep it long by using scrunchies and not breaking it off. It's generally either in a pony or braided
Okay 1) this is amazing and you look awesome with 80s curls. 2) I’ve been following you for a few years and I know you were struggling with feeling creative and motivated for this channel but WOW. GIRL. Your content is amazing and I’m so happy that you seem happier and more inspired than you were then!! And you’re letting your personality shine through. It’s incredible and so heartwarming and I look forward to every upload. Keep it up!!
I thought it will be a video about how does a scrunchie work compared to a simple elastic or hair tie. (You know, it doesn't hurt your hair, or it's more comfortable, etc.) :/ But in this way I think it's not an "I tried ..." video, it's just a "Hairstyles with scrunchies" video, because you used normal hair tie. And the wig is also a "problem", because you can't feel, how this thing feels in your hair, you don't feel the tension if there is any, or other similar things (and you used a normal hair tie as well, so it's "double cheating"). I don't dislike a video, or something, I just say that the title is very deceptive. :/
I love that this video was hair and fashion together! Sometimes I find myself wondering how to make the hair styles in your tutorials, which I love, work with my day to day clothes; the outfit ideas in this video with each style was a really cool addition!
I literally always have a scrunchie on my wrist (or in my hair) they’re the best! Less damage to your hair using them and they’re an accessory all in one!
Oh man, this brought back memories!😊 I graduated HS in ‘86. The 80s weren’t kind to anyone, that is a fact! But I must confess with the reemergence of the scrunchy, my go to is the chignon! So easy & cute, especially for 2nd & 3rd day hair! XO
I LOVE my scrunchies, when I got them I thought they wouldn't be any different to a regular hair tie but they pull less on your hair in my opinion and look super cute, especially when coordinated with your outfit haha
Thanks for a wonderful video... Nowadays people are damaging their hair with thin nd tight hair ties... But ik glad scrunchies are back!! Its so much more safe and comfrtable
I love this video. I wear scruchies to sleep. I find that they don't leave a bend on my hair. I really liked the first and second hairstyle. My favorite was the top knot.
I didn’t think I would like this video, but it came out awesome! I love how you showed your online inspiration, it’s what every person does anyway when they’re searching for a new style. Love how relatable your channel is and always has been, and it’s only gotten better with time.
i have a black lace scrunchi and its my favourite...it keeps my hair very well and it doesnt slip....when i go to sleep i do a pony and the next morning its still perfect
Yasss! I am so glad that scrunchies are back! They tug a lot less on my curls. My only regret is getting rid of the scrunchies from my childhood. Who knew I would need them again?
I really don't get America's thing against scrunchies. Like, I wear one every day. They're cute and are gentler than regular hair ties
bowties are cool what do you mean?? scrunchies are a huge trend atm in america
We like them!!
I know right
Hfyugg
I live in america
I don’t remember any one saying they have anything against scrunchies. Just not a lot of people where them a lot
OMG YOU'RE HILARIOUS
"Kayley who? I don't know her."
"I'm gonna be honest, I feel like bloggers are doing calculus with their outfits, and I'm just trying to add." FREAKING GOLD, RIGHT THERE!
I bet scrunchies don't cause near as much breakage as regular pony tail holders 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Natasha Graves pony tail holders? U mean bobbles
bobbles? u mean hair ties
I didnt even realize I had two scrunchies😂
Maddie 05 hair ties? You mean hairbands??
Claire McDermott
Hair elastics?? You mean rubber bands
You are missing the point of the scrunchi. To not damage your hair. But before using it every time you use a hair tie that does rip and pull at your hair. It's not really about bringing it back, for curly girls it's never gone out of style as it helps protect.
exactly.
There are no rules... there is no “point” to a scrunchie
Rachel Lewis
Yes there is. It causes less breakage then a regular hairband.
That's a benefit, not a point.
No that IS the point of them. So less breakage. To do the way the video uses them, its like turning the scrunchy into just a regular add in, and not actually helpful
This was RIDICULOUSLY fun to film! What any hair trends / styles should I try next?
Kayley Melissa Can you link to where you got the Lizzie McGuire wig please! Xx
Microbraids could be fun. Or headbands to go back to the Gossip Girl age :P
More 80ies hair styles, please 💙
Could you show how you blow dry your hair?
Kayley Melissa natural? Lol. #veganlife hahahah😂😂😂 I'm not vegan, but natural hair can be pretty? Hahah
I love this format of video, if you have more ways to do this please do! Tbh living for that real 80s hair
mycatdoesntdolaundry It reminds me of Saf:)
mycatdoesntdolaundry yes please, I second that
Whatever you’re doing with your makeup on this video, keep it up, you’re GLOWING 😍
Brb trying to remember what products I was using that week!! 😄😄😄
Kayley Melissa yup brb 💕ya grl
So funny this 80ies sequence, hahaha 😂
She looks like Kylie Minogue in the 80's sequence, it's not a bad thing.
Cay Megakeksbrösel they are actually really popular now
I bought two scrunchies a year ago and have been using them to make a lazy hairstyle a bit more polished when I’m late for a party or work. High ponytail, with a scrunchie. Topknot, with a scrunchie. Simple braid, with a scrunchie.
Those little research bits made it feel a little like a Safiya Nygaard video🤣
very
A lot in this video felt like Safiya
Like the way she posed and described her look and stuff
Well she is friends with Safiya and they did few collabs together so maybe that's why their video ''formats'' are similar :)
A while back I bought a massive pack of velvet scrunchies on amazon, so I have a scrunchie to match every outfit no matter the color scheme 😂
Sara Schultz oh my😂😂😂
I just bought a pack of 40
Aaralynn Willard I just bought a pack of 47 but they haven’t come yet😁
Sara Schultz THATS AMAZING 😂😍
me too😂
" I put these shades on and I'm like *KAYLEY WHO I don't know her* "
You are adorable! 😍😂
Babe this is your BEST video till this day. I really loved e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g about it! ♥️♥️
same!
))) 0l
I remember all of middle school having a scrunchie to match every outfit. We also thought it was cool back then to have an extra scrunchie worn around your wrist
Could you do a video for us ladies that love our long, thick, HEAVY hair but get headaches from wearing it up for a long time.
YES
She can't because she doesn't have it.
Loved the 80s curls! Looks gorgeous on you! 80s was my favorite style for you. I’ve always loved scrunchies, especially as a 90s kid.
horsegirl2310 same but over time if wear them people look at you funny but actually better than regular hair ties tear hair out.
For quick reference:
1:52 loose, low ponytail
2:55 ponytail half-updo
4:33 double chignon ❤️
5:43 long side-braid secure with a statement scrunchie ❤️
7:23 top-knot with a statement scrunchie
9:05 top-knot half-updo with curly hair and a matching scrunchie ❤️
as someone with super curly and thick hair i personally love scrunchies. they don’t pull on my hair and cause it to break as much as regular hair ties do. i also straighten my hair sometimes so scrunchies are super helpful bc they don’t leave that weird bump thing in my hair. i have always loved them and i think that they are making such a fashion comeback.
I have always worn scrunchies because my hair is so thick. Regular hair ties are too small and I feel like they tug on my hair a lot more. I wear them proud!
SAMEEEEEEEEEEEE
Mahik Toora yeah me too
Sameee
i have been wearing scrunchies for a while now and i love them, they are really soft and gentle to your hair
You truly do got us! I was so thrilled with the bad 80's hair montage👍😂
You looks like a modern day Cinderella with the first outfit 😍👗
I was thinking that too! She is absolutely beautiful
I want that outfit!!
HONESTLY soooo pretty
I have always worn scrunchies. They’re practical and soft, so why not, just because a hair elastic was “uncool”.
Yessssss! My hairs so thick and heavy and scrunchies are the only thing that holds it comfortably! They’re my savior!!
This is a fantastic video! Absolutely loved the 80's-bad-hair-sequence! 😂
There is no such thing as bad 80's hair, just 80's hair that you may not want to be seen in public with.
80s are coming back! Cute hairstyles! :)
OnlineGal I hope so! 🤞 I actually liked the bright colors and fashion.
OnlineGal But it’s an opinion. You think it’s horrible, but others may not.
I’m mixed with 3b hair and I love scrunchies cause they look super sure with my hair and don’t get stuck in it
That 80's montage of hair made me click the subscribe button, good job.
Girl did I just see you whip out the ballet with some balanches?! As if I didn't love you enough already...
A list of women you looked like, to me, in this video:
Blake Lively
Emma Watson
Bridgit Mendler
Candace Cameron-Bure
Lisa Schwartz
Katie Stevens for me !
And Britt Robertson
Sophia Bush playing Erin Lindsay on Chicago PD
Also, I love the outfits here! Would love to see more fashion videos from you, maybe with matching hairdos?
Your 80’s hair was the best! I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Time to run out and buy some scrunchies!
I bought some scrunchies from lululemon and I’m in love with them! 😍 I’ve worn it all week and so happy scrunchies are back ♥️
Your hair look w/ the 80’s small wand b4 the scrunchi was put in, may be the top hair look that I’ve seen on you through your vid’s, no joke
👌🏼...
How did you do those 80's bangs!!!
Should I do a how to video on "bad" 80's hair?? It would Def include those bangs.

Scrunchies are so much better for your hair! I wear one everyday and they keep my curly hair so much healthier.
The '80s was definitely my fav!!!
Thank you!
I always wear scrunchies!! Better for my hair!
Watching this with my hair in a top knot using a scruchie. I love it
Really appreciate the effort that went into this video! I want more videos like this! Love this Kayley! 💕💕💕
Oh my god the 80's sequence I'm crying!! Kayley I've always loved your videos but somehow you have upped your game EVEN MORE in 2018 and you are honestly killing it. Love how your quirky humor is showing through more and more. Love you!

You were a trendsetter.. I bet they're all wearing scrunchies now thinking ab how cool you were
I do wear scrunchies every day. Everyone laughs and im like " i get to be comfy while yall putting your brains out!"😂😜
Dang I get that, in like 2nd grade I wore my hair up in space buns and got made fun of a ton. I finally wore them again in 9th grade and got made fun of again and havent ever since...
I looooved the 80s part. I was actually expecting you to show how you did those hairstyles for a moment 😂😂
Did you ever do ballet? I saw a balance in there and was just wondering.
I loved the pink fluffy scrunchie soooo much that I just HAD to go buy myself one 😇😇 Thanks for the inspiration💕💕
Kayley Melissa wow that's so cool! It means so much for me that replied 😍 I would love to see more footage of you dancing!
Girl I felt the same!! Ballet babes for life
Madeline Daunt 😂💖
OMG I thought I was the only one that thought this 😂😂😂
The 80s look is so amazing I'm going to try it too
In my grade scrunchies are a trend
Hands down my favorite video ever done by one of my favorite youtubers!
Im watchinh with my hair up in a scrunchie. Tbh im almost 41 and have never truly stopped us8ng them. I love that grey velvet and the pink velvet one, where did you get it?
They're all listed in the description box.
Thư Quan yes i realised after id posted my comment but thanks. Im probably going to make my own like i have for the last 25 years 😉
Hahaha I'm 36 and I went through a short period in the early 2000s where I thought they were lame but kept them and realized how much better for my hair they were by about 2005. I only took a short break from them lol!
Angela Jung yeah i agree with you there, i use one for sleeping as i have to have my hair up in a pony tail out of the way and it stops breakage and stops pulling on the roots!
Joy Walsh how do you make your own scrunci?
The herbal essences shine collection, shampoo and conditioner leaves your hair SMOOTH and SHINY without leaving it greasy and dirty. I saw a difference in my hair soon after I started using it. My hair feels way healthier and looks way better when I wake up! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND
The last one is really giving me Phoebe Buffay vibes!
My mom just got me a 20 pack of scruncies and I love them all
How do you do it? Your hair became way thicker in like four years, and it is visible even on the braids, they are thicker even before you pull them apart! I have fine hair, similar to the kind you had like four years ago so please, pretty please, share your secrets. ♥
I know, I know. :D Sadly, in this video, she didn´t braid it all from her hair, but still, if you watch some of her older videos, her hair looks way thicker now. :D
It's quite off topic but I found the phrase "fat wefts" super hilarious, so thanks for making me laugh ^^
Kateřina Černá she has a video where she talked about how she gets her hair cut and what to ask for. It’s layered differently than most long haircuts so the ends aren’t as tiny when she does braids.
Thank you all for advice and for the new phrase fat wefts! :D
the Kayley Melissa day was totally my jam. I have naturally curly and long hair, so adding some crunchy to my braid would be refreshing! ))))
I only use scrunchies ❤️❤️❤️to avoid hair breakage
I rock your 90s, 80s, and messy bun hairstyles almost everyday haha, scrunchies are amazing and my go to hair accessory, I have one in all of my bags just in case, this video speaks to me on a spiritual level 👌🏼
The control creme gel has silicone in it so it probably won’t be good for people with naturally curly hair. Too bad, it’s pretty cheap.
I’m buying scrunchies today! So these hairstyles helped me! Thanks!!
I have been wearing scrunchies for my whole life...
My mom still uses scrunchies!! You are super cute, I love all your scrunchie/outfit combos!
You are so universally beautiful.
Can you link to where you got the Lizzie McGuire wig please! Xx
As someone who was a preteen/teenager during the 90’s I was actually happy to see that scrunchies was coming back in fashion. It was my ride or die hairitem back then and now it has once again a place among my hairstuff.

HERBAL ESSENCE STILL TEST ON ANIMALS
I used that shampoo! Smells really nice!
You’re the cutest thing I stg can I be your friend 😂
I saw those balances while you were wearing the first outfit.
vsco girls have entered the chat
The first outfit is so absolutely gorgeous.
I love it!
is this an ad for herbal essences? not a fan of paid promos, they almost always dont feel genuine...
Okay 1) this is amazing and you look awesome with 80s curls. 2) I’ve been following you for a few years and I know you were struggling with feeling creative and motivated for this channel but WOW. When you did the braid style I just remembered...you are the 100 layers of extensions girl!
This is my everyday life😂😂😂 I wear scrunchies as hair ties bracelets and more idk why it’s not an everyday thing😂😂
I literally always have a scrunchie on my wrist (or in my hair) they’re the best! Less damage to your hair using them and they’re an accessory all in one!
I don’t really like the look of scrunchies but you pull them off v v well!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I did not think I would be that into this....but I actually love it!!!

Some serious Buffy Summers vibes with that 90s look!
I love this video. I wear scruchies to sleep. I find that they don't leave a bend on my hair. I really liked the first and second hairstyle. My favorite was the top knot.
