2024 - NSX maintenance begins

  • As a response to the hardening of the grommet of the tailgate sub-code that was discovered during the year-end maintenance.
    The sub-code was replaced, stud bolts were installed in the rear wing, and the passenger side headlight (both low beam and high beam) that had been cut off at the end of the year was repaired.
    The passenger side headlight (both low beam and high beam) was repaired.
    It was fun to play with the NSX with gusto following the year-end maintenance off.
    *We do not recommend that individuals do their own maintenance.
     Please take care when working on it and do it at your own risk.
    ■ Postscript
    The part number of the tailgate subcode I purchased this time is "32106-SL0-000", but the one for 02R is "32106-SL0-N00", and it seems I could connect without modification if I bought this one.

    Many thanks for the LED conversion video which was very interesting as I now have HID and are rather weak compared with the other cars especially noticeable on country roads ( no road lights) at night with on coming traffic.,

      I see...HIDs are too dark.
      I don't know because I went with LED from the beginning.
      However, I feel that LEDs tend to cut out easily, so I need to be careful.

      @@83nnsax137 Thanks for the reply. You say that LED's cut out easily. Does that mean the units break or the light itself cuts off at a distance? Just last year I managed to buy some HID old style ballasts so not sure if I should change to LED.

      LEDs generate a lot of heat, so if they are not cooled properly, the LED elements at the point of emission and the surrounding electronic circuits will burn out from the heat, and the LEDs will not light up.
      The stock HID unit of the NSX is not suitable for LEDs because all the LEDs are placed inside the cover, so heat dissipation is not possible.

      @@83nnsax137 It appears that your headlight unit rear cover is different than the NA1 which has 2 round twist in dust covers. USA NSX Prime mail says most leave off the dust covers as the LED is too large and someone is selling a 3D printed larger version. Some cut a hole for ventilation.

      My headlight unit is a HID unit for NA2.
      The HID unit has a cover on the back that integrates the low and high beams.

    02R用は、32106-SL0-N00 サブコード,テールゲート(ハイマウント側の端子がギボシ)
    それ以外のグレードが、32106-SL0-000 サブコード,テールゲート(ハイマウント側の端子が防水カプラー)

      そしてそのギボシはその時代の軽自動車とかに頻用されてるけど、まさか02Rにまで純正採用されてるとは知らなんだ。 軽量化?(という名のコストダウン?!

      取り出した古い配線はラベルにN00と見えるので、02R用のホンダ純正配線そのものと思います。 コルゲートチューブが使われてるけど、重くなるのにねw カーボン樹脂の内壁不整面で配線が擦られるのを嫌ったんでしょうね。 モデウロの内部配線にもコルゲートチューブ使われてました。

      なるほど。パーツリストちゃんと見ずに買ったけど、02R用は別の品番で設定あったんですね。
      そっちを買っておけば加工せずに、ギボシ端子の接続のみでいけたのか。。。(悔)
      わざわざカプラーを止めたのに、コルゲートチューブは使ったり、ちょっと変な感じですね。r(^^;)
