    What a fantastic video, this is exactly what I needed with the same issue on my Glerups, going to give this a try!

    Thanks 🙏🏼 now I can properly fix the hole in my Glerups. I'm also replacing the insoles which are worn out.
    Sadly Glerups wasn't very helpful when I contacted them regarding repair. I'm glad they sell replacement wool insoles, just don't expect any help from them in how to correctly replace them.

    This is so great, I thought I would have to throw away my home-felt but now rather holy slippers!
    I can’t believe that this video went under the radar and got so few likes so far. It‘s extremely helpful. SO easy to do! Thank you :)

      Also, with 100% felt pieces (no sole attached) like my slippers, I could strengthen the new felting with another wash. Maybe hand wash the first time and see how it goes.

      Sorry, one more afterthought:
      It’s not so easy to get this „roving“ here, but easy to get 100% wool yarn for felting. I intend to tear apart some of that, will report how that worked.

    Thank you so much. I actually tried that on my slippers but it peeled off pretty quickly. I’m going to give it another go poking a lot longer.

      yes please give it another go, also try to do multiple layers and go beyond the hole so it attaches to the fibres on the slippers ☺

    This is incredible and hard to believe it actually works!! My wool slippers are falling apart now. Wish I had seen this sooner! How large of a hole can you repair using this needle felting method?

      It’s called roving you can find it at a yarn or craft supply store 😄

    I just bought a pair of wool felt slippers and I like them enough to write a review. I noticed a review complaining about toe holes over 6 months of wear and then saw there were a LOT of toe hole complaints. So, I searched for repairs and found your amazing tutorial (wow!!!) and now I want to reinforce my toe areas now, before there are even holes, because I know my own big toes tend to turn a bit upward. Do you think that is worthwhile or should I jus wait until there are holes? Also, where does one find wool roving - never heard of it before your review. Thanks!

    • @bookhoudesign
      @bookhoudesign  7 місяців тому

      I would wait till it starts to thin out in that area and you can reinforce with the roving. The roving can be found at an art supply shop or a knitting store😊

    Yes, does the needle gauge matter? I tried this with a 4-needle setup I already had and it didn’t work very well. Or maybe I’m not using the right type of wool? I have some Lincoln in the perfect color but maybe it doesn’t felt as well.

    • @diyneedlefeltingwiththefel2312

      It could be that the size needle in your holder is to large & you may need a finer one ( 38S or 40T ). Lincoln usually felts pretty well but if the micron is to high, like human hair, it would probably work better if you matt it up with your fingers first so the fibers are going in all different directions. I hope this helps : )
