Any updates GT? Even though im a Ford Oz bloke, i learnt to drive in Pops Starfire VC & i later owned a VH, also love the VR's. Sad how Australian car manufacturing went, still have mh FG2 XR6 manual i wont ever sell
Hi GT, really enjoying these early girl Commodore projects and can't believe how well these cars have survived despite living in paddocks and wrecking yards for 20 years plus! I live in the UK and have restored a 1984 Opel Monza. During the restoration I was confronted with rust in places that I could not believe was possible after owning many early Commodores in Australia! Anyway, I am interested in that door hinge alignment tool that you were using; the K228. Any idea where I can get my hands on one of those? Keep up the brilliant work mate, I'm off to the Spa 24hr Classic shortly with a bunch of other Monza enthusiasts and will be spreading the word regarding this channel.
I'm surprised that people don't put the Bathurst flare guards and spoilers on them that would look tuff on a street car , similar to the SLR And the A9X , thing mate the VK commodore looked tuff at Bathurst with the flares and spoilers
Great little series, thanks, GT. Reminds me of my 1984 VK that I had in the early 2000's. Think I might just keep an eye open for one of these early ones!
@@glenntorrens8988 That one might be, but I had an Altantis Blue - a metallic light blue. First car I bought with my own money, so the emotional attachment is substantial :)
Glenn i couldn't drive this ??? Sorry needs a paint job !!!😮 like my fathers EK1 Honda Civic wouldn't drive it till every thing completed sorry that's me !!!
or, they were tough, simple and durable cars as the tens of thousands remaining ones prove... such as my 400,000km VB sedan. But no, they weren't perfect and they have plenty of happy owners!
Mrs Richards: " I paid for a room with a view!" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) " That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
Hoping for an update on this project. Did you end up tracking down the original owner in Cooma? Would love to see where it’s at now.
VC my favourite Commodore.....🙏🏻
I can't quite put my finger on why I enjoy watching the resurrection of an old Commode so much. But I do.
yes, I enjoy it too! Thanks for watching
It's still got the lichen on it! Lots of good tips there, it will be good to see it back on the road when that happens.
yes, most of that fuzz will remain on the. But I had to replace the windscreen
@@glenntorrens8988 That's patina!
Just so simple. I liked the demonstration of closing the panel gaps
Hey thanks, I reckon this car deserves to have smart looking panel alignment to complement its patina

Yes, possibly but difficult with a road car as the hubs need to be strengthened/swapped etc. And this old car is cool just the way it is!

Go get one! They're old enough to be cool and new enough to be comfy... I've done 1000+km in the past two weeks in one of these
@@glenntorrens8988 yep I had a VC commodore wagon with a manual that handled well was reliable and comfy 4 a stocker just thirsty
Bloody ripper 😁👌
Should use terosol panel bond in the old boot and bonet skins when it dries it forms a skin to repel moisture is a industry approved method
Cheers, there are plenty of brands/types of goop out there
@@glenntorrens8988 yep it's the one I use it's good stuff if done right or you can use an anti flutter
The best thing that isn't going to happen is some nice Atlantis Blue paint...sigh.
don't think it's atlantis blue. Either nocturne or mirage blue.
I think it's called Tiffany Blue

@@glenntorrens8988 I had one...shame I sold it!
I had a Commodore like same colour blue
What happened with this? Did it stall out because of the fuel tank?
Surly your gonna do a episode with this one too whre you track the orginal owner down
...stay tuned!

They certainly were cheap rubbish as were the Gemini and camira
But that what we liked in our cars 😂😂

I think it's time for @glenntorrens and @uniquecarsmagazine to find another holden and revive it like this one and the Bommadore projects
