Is it just me, or does Archaos look way more hefty with how he moves? Really like the visual changes all around. The Tzeentchian Knights, Archaon's Horse. Just beautiful lol.
I don't mind them having the same units because that is exactly how they are in the Lore but what I do want is either the Chaos to work like Beastmen and build a Chaos Shrine and have some sort of Sacrifice Ground where settlements can't be re-colonised when in it or the ability to Occupy settlements like the Demons because the Campaign isn't fun when the Empire and High Elf armies constantly run past your armies to re-colonise ruins and you have no way to stop them making the Campaign very tedius.
Yup had a campaign completing it on very hard the Empire and Brittonia were the worst they had scattered so far in the world by the time i had destroyed Brittonia in the southlands the had expanded to Ulthuan apperiently and then had an army remain somewhere in the southlands so to Ulthuan and destroy them there and then back again. Empire was just annoying cause they kept confederating as they were being wiped out and then you had to do it all again.
@@grubby5tw I guess you don't play Very Hard or Legendary they have like 4 or 5 armies to every one you have no way to stop that I had 11 armies by the time I destroyed the Empire.
@@grubby5tw ah yes money is just not an issue on very hard i see. As if you don't need multiple armies when you are that far in the campaign. Create stacks powerfull enough to defeat whatever and abandon them at every ruin. You earn a lot by razing but it is by no means cost efficient.
If you played the Realms of Chaos campaign, you'd have noticed that WoC can occupy settlements now. Though their build options are more limited outside of specific locations like Middenheim. Similar thing with Norsca, they can now occupy settlements that aren't harbors or capitals.

9.99/10 My only slight nitpick is that I wish they altered Sigvald’s animations a bit so he slightly hovered above the ground, because the World itself is unworthy of touching his feet.

idk why but i feel opposite, i think in wh2 and 1 the chaos warrior models looked better... same with Kholek i think he looks worse now, looks grey and washed out really miss his look in wh1 where his armor was alot blacker. Archaeon looks better tho

@@knell18897 idk, it happened with wh2 release changing the lighting system and it just does not look right imo, and ye by washed out i mean too grey and just bland looking and, i loved the charcoal black armor on him and the chaos warriors looked badass and alot more menacing i think. I guess it does not look too bad in wh3 just really miss the DARK dark armor colors lol Also: Looking back comparing wh1 to wh2 and 3 kholek the gold trim on his armor was way more golden looking too, looked so nice in wh1 imo
With all the addenda Chaos factions got over time we will finally be able to recreate some very cool 4v4 max funds land battles involving Chaos. Imagine Chaos Warriors, Beastmen and 2 of daemons/monogod/skaven/Norsca squaring up against say all the human factions. A couple of years ago it would have been kinda drab, having to use the old warriors, old beastman and Norsca: in this type of huge themed army games trying to go chaos themed was honestly underwelming in terms of spectacle and unit variety compared to the undead, the elves, the human or the ordertide.
@@Mojo2996 Norsca will have its due for sure, all the factions that got significant power boosts and cool new mechanics in campaign and in battle during WH2 were extremely outdated compared to Norsca whem ME hit: remember how were, just to say the most egregious, the Empire, greenskins and wood elves? And tbh Chaos factions got from being super unremarkable in the context I described to having the excellent beastmen rework to having 5 new factions and a rework for WoC. The game will get better and we will have updates for Norsca and Vampires.

In Mortal Empires I raised the whole map with the Warriors of Chaos in around 350 turns. Forming teams of 2 stacks and splitting them across continents. I didn't even use Kholek or Sigvald, using the generic chaos lords was such an amazing role play experience. I got so attached to one chaos lord and his voice lines, I used his name as an online alias for a few months. His "Never stop, asinine mortal" became my life mantra lmao.

I would like warriors of chaos to be more unique compared to monogod deamons. Im afraid everyone will just pick khorne warriors of chaos and normal undivided warriors of chaos will be unused.
@@owen8943 nah. that feels more like khorne, honestly. But you're on the right track trying to make them feel unique. Shields are super necessary for them (given how much ranged is out there as opponents), so don't remove them unless there's added/enhanced missile resistance to compensate for removing something they always had and been balanced around. This will apply to multi-player more than campaign mind you, since I rarely went without a shaggoth doomstack when I played them in campaign lol.

Those changes are delicious, especially the visual ones! Have you noticed that Archeon scheathe his sword while he is moving? (seen at 6:36 ) That's so cool! As for those demonic units, i hope they will be rare and special. It would be a shame if Warriors of Chaos were just another demonic faction
Which would mean that when playing chaos you fight against chaos gods trying to get the power over all the chaos realm and the mortal empires map is just sideshow that helps you in the fight against the chaos gods you have to gain influence on some mortal factions that you either corrupt or or through chaos factions that are dedicated to your chaos god
those chaos steeds look AMAZING! The start of WH3 was rough but honestly Immortal Empires looks f***ing great and CA are redeeming themselves in my eyes.
Thats probably what they've been testing with the Exalted Daemon replacement stuff, though I hope it will be a bit more involved than that. Only the truly worthy ascend to daemonhood after all.
Warriors of Chaos were always my favorite faction until Khorne in W3. Glad too see nice changes. Imo only one visual thing is bad - ultramarine capes. WoCh looked better in dark colors.
That’s just factions colours, watch milkandcookies total war video he showcases the new units way better! The default chaos colour is darker then 1 and 2.
'aspiring champions now got double the health' at this point I thought they would still be a waste ... and double the damage. Now that is what was needed, a high stat unit with really high weapon strength. Now they can cut through low and mid tier infantry with astonishing efficiency, and they might actually be viable.
Given their model count it might be better to pit them against other monstrous infantry or heroes instead, a lot of that weapon strength is wasted if they're fighting hordes.
@@shigerufan1 they have cleaving attacks, i imagine they will be better vs hordes of bad infantry compared to some monsterous infantry at same cost like chaos spawn etc. High AF armor and melee defence they will be very good vs all t1 and t2 infantry that dont have armor piercing
@@shigerufan1 they used to have ~50 weapon strength, whereas most low tier infantry do indeed have close to 50 hp. But high tier units (like sisters of slaughter have 67 hp. The sisters have a 2% physical resist on top of that bringing their effective hp to 84. That is damn close, with the bit of armor blocking some damage that is pretty close to 0 waste killing a model. Trust me they will cut through sisters of slaughter, bladedancers and high tier demonic infantry like butter.

I just want say that @Zerkovich is one of few content creators who excel in showcasing Lords / Units visuals, action and their abilities and spells in much simpler way, a lot of decent camera shots angles, slow mo action and closeups. well done sir, I appreciate your work! 👍
As much as everyone poops on reskins but I absolutely want the regular Warriors of Chaos/Marauders/Chaos Knights to look unique to each faction: The undivided boys up there are fine for Archaon and Belakor (who could have a Night Lords colour scheme, just saying) but I want Sigi's boys to be much more pink, polished and stylish. Kohlek's boys could be steely, spiky and adorned with lightning insignia while Sartael's need that bluewish hue, the twisted armor and those slightly too many eye holes in their helmets. Af course here's hoping for some LL to command a sickly greenish band of bloated and rusty Nurgelites but alas... Maybe after the 4 Champions.
I was hoping that we'd get sorcerers(and the lord variants) capable of using the three monogod lores and the ability to summon the lesser daemons like the cultist heroes.
They look great - question is, how they will play. All the changes seem spot on, and Sigvald and Chicken in their gods proper rosters will be a great additions (two LL for both Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Deamons sound great and hint for Khorne and Nurgle DLC's in not so distant future).
Keeping a cap to how many demons your army can have makes sense. And I mean per army, as in per 4 human troops you can bring 1 demon. TBH I wanted more norsca overlap rather than chaos demons. After all most chaos warrior are recruited form Norsca, no?
A large majority of Chaos warriors come from the various marauder tribes (Kurgan, Hung, Norscan, etc). Of the marauder tribes, the Kurgan have the largest representation among the Chaos warrior ranks. Kurgan are known to in general be the biggest and most mutated of the tribes, so it makes sense that the majority of marauders that become Chaos warriors come from their tribe.
man the updated models looks amazing even kholek got lightning effect so cool. and the tzeentch warriors actually look like tzeentch units now rather then blue chosen i do hope tho that archeon has a global effect in a way when you play him that you do certain things that will slowly bring the end of the world that maybe the order races must defend like middenheim and so it feels like you are destroying the world rather then just making an empire like normal.
The problem with Chaos was more so in the campaign map. Their economy is a bit meh but the worse problem is creating a second army. As a horde faction they grow so slow. Best way to get population faster is by raids and razing cities. Trouble is by the time you create a second army who are level 1, you took out the easier targets with your main army, and since its midgame, Ai will have better units. And you can't just hand over good units your second army they will cost double or so for not having the appropriate buildings. They need more of a rework there to give them a momentum
I... The only thing I kinda agree with is that it CAN take time to get a second army, but that's only because whenever I play Chaos in WH1/2 I play it as a one-stack challenge. If I go the route to have all the faction leaders (Archaeon, Sigvald, Kholek), I usually just spam marauder horsemen, farm pop while sacking all of Norsca. Recruit Sigvald, then let him do the necessary things to get Kholek while I ravage the world and build the economy with Archaeon and a stack of 19 Chaos Warriors.
The problem was the campaign map. It was just how their campaign mechanics work rather than building them up. Imo is wasn't hard to build then up; my problem was when I would raze, then raze, then go back and kill the army that ruin-dwelled a razed province and repeat that cycle.
I am not saying it is impossible to build them up. However compared to more up to date factions, Chaos Warriors are very lacking. I want to feel like a snowball down a mountain you know? An unstoppable tide of destruction. But it feels like I am Plankton, playing chess and leveling my sneak to 100 to destroy the world.
I think that they should implement some degree of "Endgame crisis" like Stellaris for endgame in immortal empires. Something at random between different scenarios like Chaos invasion, Undead plague, Greenskin invasion of sort. To me it's one of the best sistems ever seen in a 4x game and it would be easily implementable in warhammer total war, they did that in Medieval with Huns. Something with a little of story, not just chaos units spamming here and there.

Btw i trust CA, they are a good developer and i think that WH3 despite being far inferior to WH2 will get better and better with time as WH2 did. That's why i'm waiting to buy the game till it gets discounted and adjusted...no reason to insta-buy without expansions just like CIV and Stellaris the bare-bone title is underwhelming while the full edition usually becomes awesome.
I like the idea that in order to bring daemons of chaos into you warriors of chaos armies involves summoning tokens that you get from dedicating your victories in battles to one of the four. Kinda like how you use the jars in tomb kings to buy special units, but it would be a general daemon units in this case.
Ooo an idea I had for Archeon is his magic should reflect his allegiance to all the gods by giving him a spell from each god lore. Like in the campaign you can get more or limit to just campaign and have a set 4 in battles and keep the new lores he has now
I wanna see an Update to gear that's gained by quest battles like that every legendary lord has 5 of them and that the quest battles are like sometimes more late game and harder to get

Archeon should have had a little extra from each of the chaos gods, as befitting their ever chosen: Khorne: non-spell fire attacks and magic dampening against anyone he fights Tzeench: barrier and a Tzeench spell of his choice OR magical damage on his melee Slaanesh: Devestating Flanker and 1 spell from here of your choice as well OR extra speed Nurgle: passive regeneration and a spell of Nurgle of your choice OR non-spell poison attacks. And also an ability to summon a squad of lesser daemons anywhere on the battlefield that’s set on a cooldown.
In lore and in tabletop, Archaon receives the benefits of all 4 marks of Chaos. Frenzy from Khorne, Spellcasting ability from Tzeentch, cloud of flies from Nurgle, and immune to psychology from Slaanesh. He basically already had all of those in game except CoF. He already has flaming magic attacks from Slayer of Kings. And no, for the love of god, he does NOT need regeneration or the ability to summon demons. He didn't have either ability in lore or in tabletop. He's already very strong in game, I think he's in a really good place, and the new model/animations are amazing. CA did my boi Archy proud!
@@rjstram Well what else that’s nurgle flavored that can be used as a good substitute for CoF’s? Regeneration would make _sense_ with anything having Nurgles favor in abundance, but when paired to the already difficult to kill Archeon it might well be overkill unless gimped to a degree…. Maybe something akin a combination of “Disgustingly Resilient” and the “Nurgles Gift” Contagion the 40K Death Guard forces have to reduce damage for him and close enough allies by a small degree while doing the same in reverse to nearby enemies. Like what would you say would be fair for the everchosen, 10-20% less/more damage taken for allies/enemies?
Thank the gods for dealing with the war pony situation! Also it would be cool to see this expanded to allowing unit knockdown to cav units sufficiently smaller than what they are charged by. Poor empire riders having to get up and run back to their mount. Or even chaos knights getting unseated by a dragon.
I think that a "Great Game" event should added in for the mono gods if you play Warriors of Chaos, where in which they all spawn a bunch of difficult armies somewhere on each edge of the map that is hostile to everyone, which you must defeat before truly becoming worthy to be crowned the next "Everchosen". It would be a very thematic final goal for long campaigns to have conquered not only the mortal realm but also proven to your patrons that you are more then worthy to lead their armies into battle.
I think it will be similar to how daemons of chaos are handled, more of a jack of all trades master of none while mono gods are all about making their specific strengths as big as possible.
Yeah, same. I feel like it'd also make sense lore-wise (Not that I'm an expert) WoC roster are still mainly human/mortal so the number of Daemons and amount of control they exert over them would be limited.
I wonder if they will lock requirement of demons behind a campaign mechanic. Like dedicate enough settlements to a specific god, like Norsca can do, and then have the option to recruit your own demons from that god.
regarding your last point: they said that they will implement many different late game szenarios that will be picked random each playthrough. i guess "the end times" is still one of them. other people guessed that something with nagash will happen and seeing the amount of contestants in the thunderdome i cann see that as well
We know already that Norsca are getting regular settlement management with no more outpost mechanic, so warriors of chaos will get it too, afterall they already occupy settlements in WH3
What i like the most of this super rework is that you can confederate the two greatest champions of chaos Be'lakor and Archaon, and of course also Kholek and Sigvald, and i think you can do it in two ways the classic diplomacy or spending souls the new unique resource of the Warriors of Chaos, in others words almost the same as with the Beastmen rework.
Damn, Chaos looks incredible! The black and brown color scheme on the champions is brilliant. Got Belakor on deck, Archaon lookin alpha, the knights got huge hellish mounts, and even got a demon prince on the roster. They did a damn good job!
its gonna be so damn nice having flying modes for older LL's even just for flavor its gonna be great to have Franz on his mount charging down with hypogriff knights by his side
Heres an idea for a better chaos invasion. Instead of having the death blob like in warhammer 2, imagine theres different paths the chaos invasion ai take. Say one army per "war path". These "war paths" are routes to certain settlements throughout the Immortal Empires map, in a specific order. The ai could be made to beeline to the settlements, thus preventing death blobs. The amount of armies could increase in waves too.
I was hoping marks of Choas would change the Warriors of chaos into different units. They need to also add some Nurgle mortals because atm there are none
The new chaos invasion should be done by increasing the relations of all chaos factions. The chaos factions will slowly unite until all factions that cause chaos corruption are allied. It would be nice to have several weaker armies spawn across the world to raid. This would force each faction to secure their own territory before they could unite to appose chaos. The empire, bretonnia, high elves, lizardmen, dwarfs, kislev, and Cathay would be pushed to a military alliance against chaos, while the tomb kings, wood elves, dark elves, and vampires would push for non aggression packs. They would eventually seek alliances as chaos unites and grows stronger. Orks, ogres, and skaven just act normally.
I honestly probably still wouldn't play them much, but that's not because they look bad, just that I like other factions' styles better. As a whole, this looks to be a MASSIVE improvement with a lot of cool things going on. I think my favorite thing might be the cross-faction lords feature. Having the option to run some of the lords in either WoC or one of the Demon factions is a really cool idea, and I'm curious as to who else they could use that for.
Didn't CA say there would be a variety of possible "End Times" events? Like there'd still be the Chaos invasion, but also a massive Orc Waaagh or a sudden eruption of Skaven.
hopefully they give us buildings we can dedicate to the specific gods to give us access to the god specific units and undivided to give us normal base chaos units
I don't think they'll lose their identity. I mean, you have the chosen. Great Frontline Units and now can you take Skullcrushers for example and smash their flanks. Or even those slaanesh riders, who does extra flanking damage. Or getting the enemy infantry rooted with your chosen and take your doom knights to crush the archers and artillery. There are now so many variaties, i love it.
I had kinda assumed they would merge the Demons of Chaos with Chaos Undivided cause it's literally the same faction in the lore so I don't mind that they are the same
I hope Undivided Chosen can still keep up. There's this bad habit in parts of the fanbase to act like Undivided couldn't commit to one god, but it's supposed to mean that all 4 gods like them. Each of the 4 gods units being specialized, while Undivided Chosen are the best all rounders is what I'm hoping for.
it feels so weird. I remember so many years ago we were talking and speculating on warriors of chaos, how maybe one day we might have different marks of chaos on them, how they would ally with demons... well, here it is now.
I personally liked the hoard mechanics, weird as it sounds. I loved the feel that Chaos ebbs and flows, it comes in, do a ton of damage, then retreats back to the depths of the chaos wastes where no one (except maybe Volkmar) can reach to build, recuperate, and expand their roster. 30 rounds later, bigger Chaos invasion, against a healed world except this time pushing further before turning back. Another 30 rounds, this time I destroy half the Empire before pulling back. It made for an amazing power fantasy to just have the world at your mercy to destroy over and over. It felt kind of like the 13 Black Crusades from Warhammer 40K, each of the first crusades had their own goals, with the final invasion the one intended to truly crush everything in its path.
Can't wait for mods where I can just combine all the Chaos factions together shits gonna be sick. Hopefully at least Daemon factions and Chaos Warrior factions will be part of the same faction group which is usually how confederation mods work
And I hope that marking units is an upgrade system, like scrap or the troy's amazon system rather than just a lazy "you can just buy them" thing, because that would just suck big time.

You know, Zerkovich, I was just thinking that what with the Champions of Chaos DLC coming this August 23rd, along with the Immortal Empires Map, and especially the Warriors of Chaos Rework that includes the Mark of Chaos Mechanic, I might be able to, say, play as the Warriors of Chaos in custom battles and possible test out any of the marked Chaos Knights in my roster, the two that I'm thinking about being the Chaos Knights of Khorne with Lances and The Chaos Knights of Nurgle, and see how they would test on the battlefield.
the chaos invasion needs to be allied with the skaven, and have a simultaneous undead invasion occur led by nagash and arkan the black. also, I would like a rival faction weighting system for the campaign which lets the player increase the auto-resolve value and aggression of specific ai factions against other ai to allow them to make it to the end game and an option to have that handled randomly so that every game you have the option to have a different enemy in the late game that doesn't require enormous work for you to bring about.
The chaos ponies are more thematically correct because steppe ponies tended to be smaller. Steppe ponies were more useful since they could survive off of grazing while being on campaign, while modern horses require fodder if you want any useful work out of them. If you recognize that "Chaos" are the tatars, wreaking havoc on the Chinese, Europe, most especially Russia, and emerging from seemingly nowhere (Central Asia, modern day "stan" land and Siberia), then smaller, slower ponies make more sense. But of course while strategically Chaos are like the Tatars, their armies are definitely not. Kislev are actually more like the historical tatars by playstyle, which is kinda right since by the 1400s Russian militaries had completely mirrored the khanates.
Is it just me, or does Archaos look way more hefty with how he moves? Really like the visual changes all around. The Tzeentchian Knights, Archaon's Horse. Just beautiful lol.

I don't mind them having the same units because that is exactly how they are in the Lore but what I do want is either the Chaos to work like Beastmen and build a Chaos Shrine and have some sort of Sacrifice Ground where settlements can't be re-colonised when in it or the ability to Occupy settlements like the Demons because the Campaign isn't fun when the Empire and High Elf armies constantly run past your armies to re-colonise ruins and you have no way to stop them making the Campaign very tedius.
Yup had a campaign completing it on very hard the Empire and Brittonia were the worst they had scattered so far in the world by the time i had destroyed Brittonia in the southlands the had expanded to Ulthuan apperiently and then had an army remain somewhere in the southlands so to Ulthuan and destroy them there and then back again. Empire was just annoying cause they kept confederating as they were being wiped out and then you had to do it all again.

@@grubby5tw ah yes money is just not an issue on very hard i see. As if you don't need multiple armies when you are that far in the campaign. Create stacks powerfull enough to defeat whatever and abandon them at every ruin. You earn a lot by razing but it is by no means cost efficient.
If you played the Realms of Chaos campaign, you'd have noticed that WoC can occupy settlements now. Though their build options are more limited outside of specific locations like Middenheim. Similar thing with Norsca, they can now occupy settlements that aren't harbors or capitals.
Tzeentch guys look amazing now, and my god chaos horses are BIG.

With all the addenda Chaos factions got over time we will finally be able to recreate some very cool 4v4 max funds land battles involving Chaos. Imagine Chaos Warriors, Beastmen and 2 of daemons/monogod/skaven/Norsca squaring up against say all the human factions.
A couple of years ago it would have been kinda drab, having to use the old warriors, old beastman and Norsca: in this type of huge themed army games trying to go chaos themed was honestly underwelming in terms of spectacle and unit variety compared to the undead, the elves, the human or the ordertide.

And tbh Chaos factions got from being super unremarkable in the context I described to having the excellent beastmen rework to having 5 new factions and a rework for WoC. The game will get better and we will have updates for Norsca and Vampires.

In Mortal Empires I raised the whole map with the Warriors of Chaos in around 350 turns. Forming teams of 2 stacks and splitting them across continents. I didn't even use Kholek or Sigvald, using the generic chaos lords was such an amazing role play experience. I got so attached to one chaos lord and his voice lines, I used his name as an online alias for a few months. His "Never stop, asinine mortal" became my life mantra lmao.

What excites me about this is seeing the graphical improvements to TW1 and TW2 units with the updated TW3 engine.

Shields are super necessary for them (given how much ranged is out there as opponents), so don't remove them unless there's added/enhanced missile resistance to compensate for removing something they always had and been balanced around. This will apply to multi-player more than campaign mind you, since I rarely went without a shaggoth doomstack when I played them in campaign lol.

I always liked the tiny horses carrying the big chaos warriors. It looked like they were in a lot of pain which fits into the chaos theme.

Now that is what was needed, a high stat unit with really high weapon strength. Now they can cut through low and mid tier infantry with astonishing efficiency, and they might actually be viable.
Given their model count it might be better to pit them against other monstrous infantry or heroes instead, a lot of that weapon strength is wasted if they're fighting hordes.
@@shigerufan1 they have cleaving attacks, i imagine they will be better vs hordes of bad infantry compared to some monsterous infantry at same cost like chaos spawn etc. High AF armor and melee defence they will be very good vs all t1 and t2 infantry that dont have armor piercing
@@shigerufan1 they used to have ~50 weapon strength, whereas most low tier infantry do indeed have close to 50 hp. But high tier units (like sisters of slaughter have 67 hp. The sisters have a 2% physical resist on top of that bringing their effective hp to 84. That is damn close, with the bit of armor blocking some damage that is pretty close to 0 waste killing a model.
Trust me they will cut through sisters of slaughter, bladedancers and high tier demonic infantry like butter.

They also have magic attacks, which got a huge buff between 2 & 3.

As much as everyone poops on reskins but I absolutely want the regular Warriors of Chaos/Marauders/Chaos Knights to look unique to each faction: The undivided boys up there are fine for Archaon and Belakor (who could have a Night Lords colour scheme, just saying) but I want Sigi's boys to be much more pink, polished and stylish. Kohlek's boys could be steely, spiky and adorned with lightning insignia while Sartael's need that bluewish hue, the twisted armor and those slightly too many eye holes in their helmets. Af course here's hoping for some LL to command a sickly greenish band of bloated and rusty Nurgelites but alas...

I was hoping that we'd get sorcerers(and the lord variants) capable of using the three monogod lores and the ability to summon the lesser daemons like the cultist heroes.
They look great - question is, how they will play. All the changes seem spot on, and Sigvald and Chicken in their gods proper rosters will be a great additions (two LL for both Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Deamons sound great and hint for Khorne and Nurgle DLC's in not so distant future).
I think there should be like a crusade mechanic against you. Like how the factions of Order have united against Chaos before the world ended.
Keeping a cap to how many demons your army can have makes sense. And I mean per army, as in per 4 human troops you can bring 1 demon.

A large majority of Chaos warriors come from the various marauder tribes (Kurgan, Hung, Norscan, etc). Of the marauder tribes, the Kurgan have the largest representation among the Chaos warrior ranks. Kurgan are known to in general be the biggest and most mutated of the tribes, so it makes sense that the majority of marauders that become Chaos warriors come from their tribe.
Was hoping they would upscale Kholek, especially after the Dread Saurian was added.

I never played much Warriors of Chaos in Warhammer I and II, but that Chaos Sorcerer next to Archaon in the beginning of the video looks cool as fuck.
The horse size increase is the single greatest alteration they have made, in any update.
The problem with Chaos was more so in the campaign map. Their economy is a bit meh but the worse problem is creating a second army. As a horde faction they grow so slow. Best way to get population faster is by raids and razing cities. Trouble is by the time you create a second army who are level 1, you took out the easier targets with your main army, and since its midgame, Ai will have better units. And you can't just hand over good units your second army they will cost double or so for not having the appropriate buildings. They need more of a rework there to give them a momentum
I... The only thing I kinda agree with is that it CAN take time to get a second army, but that's only because whenever I play Chaos in WH1/2 I play it as a one-stack challenge.
If I go the route to have all the faction leaders (Archaeon, Sigvald, Kholek), I usually just spam marauder horsemen, farm pop while sacking all of Norsca. Recruit Sigvald, then let him do the necessary things to get Kholek while I ravage the world and build the economy with Archaeon and a stack of 19 Chaos Warriors.
It's worth getting additional lords and just having them travel with your main stack while building up levels.
The problem was the campaign map. It was just how their campaign mechanics work rather than building them up. Imo is wasn't hard to build then up; my problem was when I would raze, then raze, then go back and kill the army that ruin-dwelled a razed province and repeat that cycle.
I am not saying it is impossible to build them up. However compared to more up to date factions, Chaos Warriors are very lacking. I want to feel like a snowball down a mountain you know? An unstoppable tide of destruction. But it feels like I am Plankton, playing chess and leveling my sneak to 100 to destroy the world.
I think that they should implement some degree of "Endgame crisis" like Stellaris for endgame in immortal empires.
Something at random between different scenarios like Chaos invasion, Undead plague, Greenskin invasion of sort.
To me it's one of the best sistems ever seen in a 4x game and it would be easily implementable in warhammer total war, they did that in Medieval with Huns.
Something with a little of story, not just chaos units spamming here and there.

I like the idea that in order to bring daemons of chaos into you warriors of chaos armies involves summoning tokens that you get from dedicating your victories in battles to one of the four. Kinda like how you use the jars in tomb kings to buy special units, but it would be a general daemon units in this case.
Ooo an idea I had for Archeon is his magic should reflect his allegiance to all the gods by giving him a spell from each god lore. Like in the campaign you can get more or limit to just campaign and have a set 4 in battles and keep the new lores he has now
I wanna see an Update to gear that's gained by quest battles like that every legendary lord has 5 of them and that the quest battles are like sometimes more late game and harder to get

I would like a sort of summoning mechanic, where you get recruitable demons from an event separate from the buildings you have.
Really dig it, the visual changes and mark mechanic add a lot of diversity to the armies on campaign, looking forward to play them
Archeon should have had a little extra from each of the chaos gods, as befitting their ever chosen:
Khorne: non-spell fire attacks and magic dampening against anyone he fights
Tzeench: barrier and a Tzeench spell of his choice OR magical damage on his melee
Slaanesh: Devestating Flanker and 1 spell from here of your choice as well OR extra speed
Nurgle: passive regeneration and a spell of Nurgle of your choice OR non-spell poison attacks.
And also an ability to summon a squad of lesser daemons anywhere on the battlefield that’s set on a cooldown.
That would make archeon objectively. The best LL in the game. Maybe instead of him just having it. He'd have quests issued to him for those bonuses
In lore and in tabletop, Archaon receives the benefits of all 4 marks of Chaos. Frenzy from Khorne, Spellcasting ability from Tzeentch, cloud of flies from Nurgle, and immune to psychology from Slaanesh. He basically already had all of those in game except CoF. He already has flaming magic attacks from Slayer of Kings. And no, for the love of god, he does NOT need regeneration or the ability to summon demons. He didn't have either ability in lore or in tabletop. He's already very strong in game, I think he's in a really good place, and the new model/animations are amazing. CA did my boi Archy proud!

Regeneration would make _sense_ with anything having Nurgles favor in abundance, but when paired to the already difficult to kill Archeon it might well be overkill unless gimped to a degree…. Maybe something akin a combination of “Disgustingly Resilient” and the “Nurgles Gift” Contagion the 40K Death Guard forces have to reduce damage for him and close enough allies by a small degree while doing the same in reverse to nearby enemies. Like what would you say would be fair for the everchosen, 10-20% less/more damage taken for allies/enemies?

I think that a "Great Game" event should added in for the mono gods if you play Warriors of Chaos, where in which they all spawn a bunch of difficult armies somewhere on each edge of the map that is hostile to everyone, which you must defeat before truly becoming worthy to be crowned the next "Everchosen". It would be a very thematic final goal for long campaigns to have conquered not only the mortal realm but also proven to your patrons that you are more then worthy to lead their armies into battle.
I hope the factions are limited to what they can recruit, as I just feel it would make Monogod factions redundant.
I think it will be similar to how daemons of chaos are handled, more of a jack of all trades master of none while mono gods are all about making their specific strengths as big as possible.
Yeah, same. I feel like it'd also make sense lore-wise (Not that I'm an expert) WoC roster are still mainly human/mortal so the number of Daemons and amount of control they exert over them would be limited.
I wonder if they will lock requirement of demons behind a campaign mechanic. Like dedicate enough settlements to a specific god, like Norsca can do, and then have the option to recruit your own demons from that god.
regarding your last point: they said that they will implement many different late game szenarios that will be picked random each playthrough. i guess "the end times" is still one of them. other people guessed that something with nagash will happen and seeing the amount of contestants in the thunderdome i cann see that as well
We know already that Norsca are getting regular settlement management with no more outpost mechanic, so warriors of chaos will get it too, afterall they already occupy settlements in WH3
The crossover lords are both the most simple and most genius solution for the lords that fit into multiple categories. Not bad CA.

What i like the most of this super rework is that you can confederate the two greatest champions of chaos Be'lakor and Archaon, and of course also Kholek and Sigvald, and i think you can do it in two ways the classic diplomacy or spending souls the new unique resource of the Warriors of Chaos, in others words almost the same as with the Beastmen rework.

Damn, Chaos looks incredible! The black and brown color scheme on the champions is brilliant. Got Belakor on deck, Archaon lookin alpha, the knights got huge hellish mounts, and even got a demon prince on the roster.

Heres an idea for a better chaos invasion. Instead of having the death blob like in warhammer 2, imagine theres different paths the chaos invasion ai take. Say one army per "war path". These "war paths" are routes to certain settlements throughout the Immortal Empires map, in a specific order. The ai could be made to beeline to the settlements, thus preventing death blobs. The amount of armies could increase in waves too.
Or at least a Chaos army targeting every major faction. Not just one part of the map, I like the dark elves so I always get hit hard by chaos first.

The new chaos invasion should be done by increasing the relations of all chaos factions. The chaos factions will slowly unite until all factions that cause chaos corruption are allied. It would be nice to have several weaker armies spawn across the world to raid. This would force each faction to secure their own territory before they could unite to appose chaos.
The empire, bretonnia, high elves, lizardmen, dwarfs, kislev, and Cathay would be pushed to a military alliance against chaos, while the tomb kings, wood elves, dark elves, and vampires would push for non aggression packs. They would eventually seek alliances as chaos unites and grows stronger. Orks, ogres, and skaven just act normally.
I honestly like it. It really opens up o the play style a bit. I would like to see new units added. Good rework. Good video
I honestly probably still wouldn't play them much, but that's not because they look bad, just that I like other factions' styles better. As a whole, this looks to be a MASSIVE improvement with a lot of cool things going on. I think my favorite thing might be the cross-faction lords feature. Having the option to run some of the lords in either WoC or one of the Demon factions is a really cool idea, and I'm curious as to who else they could use that for.
Didn't CA say there would be a variety of possible "End Times" events? Like there'd still be the Chaos invasion, but also a massive Orc Waaagh or a sudden eruption of Skaven.

I'm definitely leaning towards the idea that completing your mid game victory will give you the power to unleash end game level havoc on the world.
hopefully they give us buildings we can dedicate to the specific gods to give us access to the god specific units and undivided to give us normal base chaos units
I don't think they'll lose their identity. I mean, you have the chosen. Great Frontline Units and now can you take Skullcrushers for example and smash their flanks. Or even those slaanesh riders, who does extra flanking damage. Or getting the enemy infantry rooted with your chosen and take your doom knights to crush the archers and artillery. There are now so many variaties, i love it.

Just like with WH1 The Warriors of Chaos will be the first faction I'm gonna play with in the Immortal Empires campaign.
I had kinda assumed they would merge the Demons of Chaos with Chaos Undivided cause it's literally the same faction in the lore so I don't mind that they are the same
chaos is ok where it was but I welcome a change mostly because I love idea of having a evil fortress to lunch attacks

I hope Undivided Chosen can still keep up. There's this bad habit in parts of the fanbase to act like Undivided couldn't commit to one god, but it's supposed to mean that all 4 gods like them. Each of the 4 gods units being specialized, while Undivided Chosen are the best all rounders is what I'm hoping for.

it feels so weird. I remember so many years ago we were talking and speculating on warriors of chaos, how maybe one day we might have different marks of chaos on them, how they would ally with demons... well, here it is now.
I personally liked the hoard mechanics, weird as it sounds. I loved the feel that Chaos ebbs and flows, it comes in, do a ton of damage, then retreats back to the depths of the chaos wastes where no one (except maybe Volkmar) can reach to build, recuperate, and expand their roster. 30 rounds later, bigger Chaos invasion, against a healed world except this time pushing further before turning back. Another 30 rounds, this time I destroy half the Empire before pulling back. It made for an amazing power fantasy to just have the world at your mercy to destroy over and over. It felt kind of like the 13 Black Crusades from Warhammer 40K, each of the first crusades had their own goals, with the final invasion the one intended to truly crush everything in its path.
Can't wait for mods where I can just combine all the Chaos factions together shits gonna be sick. Hopefully at least Daemon factions and Chaos Warrior factions will be part of the same faction group which is usually how confederation mods work
This looks like a test for how Death with work, particularly Nagash's legion
The warriors of Zeentch are nice, like very nice as a particular youtuber complained how they didn't look Zeentchy at first.
hopefully it still is a horde thing but with the fun aspects of Taurox's campaign, especially the low downtime
This will really do well for chaos, gives them actual flexibility in multi-player
And I hope that marking units is an upgrade system, like scrap or the troy's amazon system rather than just a lazy "you can just buy them" thing, because that would just suck big time.
As Felix slowly woke up the room barely had any light for there was only three torches within a vast Hall he noticed Gotrek unconscious and then to his horror web like webs wrapped around him as well as Lance too had them all wrapped around him as well then he realized the witch hunter was in a coma of sort For his eyes was like in a translucent white staring upwards in the very blackness of the dark abyss of the ceiling then he seen his shadow looking at him for the first time
It scared Felix for it was watching him back with white translucent eyes
Smiling as it lingered around Lance like a snake then it disappeared back within his own shadow then Felix looked around and saw dozens of human remains of Bones of other adventurers around the Great Hall
Then Felix heard scudling noises as the smooth Stone service vibrated and echoed with tapping noises of the stone floor then Felix's heart felt like it dropped to his stomach for he saw six glowing red eyes staring right back at him he tried to move
But he couldn't for he was wrapped with the same web's that was wrapped around his very companions
As Felix watch those very six glowing red eyes go towards Gotrek
Slowly methodically then out of the shadows it revealed what it was within the light for it was a huge dark spider as it's fangs protrude out of its face the sharp Fangs glistered
With toxic venom pouring down the fangs like they were raindrops
As spider got closer to the Slayer Felix realized he had to do something but he didn't know how for he was stuck in the webs and his weapon was nowhere to be seen he looked around and then he saw his sword and Gotrek axe wrapped around webbing
Then Felix yelled at the spider get away from him then it slowly turned looking at Felix and then it spoke through in his mind like a normal conversation

Then essence taker pulled out of the spiders back and into Lance's hand as of witch hunter plunged essence taker through the spider's face then she screamed out Lord kurgan I failed you as her body conversed and spasm before all six of her legs closed in inward where she laid lifeless

Then the Witch Hunter cut down his webs and recover his companions weapons as Gotrek woke up ripping the spider webs off him like they were nothing looking around wondering what just happened
What happened manling's Felix looked at the Slayer you don't want to know Gotrek as Lance smiled a mischief grin he looked at the Slayer and replied let's just say heer Felix

You know, Zerkovich, I was just thinking that what with the Champions of Chaos DLC coming this August 23rd, along with the Immortal Empires Map, and especially the Warriors of Chaos Rework that includes the Mark of Chaos Mechanic, I might be able to, say, play as the Warriors of Chaos in custom battles and possible test out any of the marked Chaos Knights in my roster, the two that I'm thinking about being the Chaos Knights of Khorne with Lances and The Chaos Knights of Nurgle, and see how they would test on the battlefield.
the chaos invasion needs to be allied with the skaven, and have a simultaneous undead invasion occur led by nagash and arkan the black. also, I would like a rival faction weighting system for the campaign which lets the player increase the auto-resolve value and aggression of specific ai factions against other ai to allow them to make it to the end game and an option to have that handled randomly so that every game you have the option to have a different enemy in the late game that doesn't require enormous work for you to bring about.
I really hope Archaon has his mount from AOS. Secret mount for him
The chaos ponies are more thematically correct because steppe ponies tended to be smaller. Steppe ponies were more useful since they could survive off of grazing while being on campaign, while modern horses require fodder if you want any useful work out of them. If you recognize that "Chaos" are the tatars, wreaking havoc on the Chinese, Europe, most especially Russia, and emerging from seemingly nowhere (Central Asia, modern day "stan" land and Siberia), then smaller, slower ponies make more sense.
But of course while strategically Chaos are like the Tatars, their armies are definitely not. Kislev are actually more like the historical tatars by playstyle, which is kinda right since by the 1400s Russian militaries had completely mirrored the khanates.
Archaon looks awesome and dorghar is the right size and looks epic. Looking forward to the changes.
