NEXT LEVEL INFINITY LOOP ON THE SMOOTHSTAR MANTA RAY SURFSKATE!
The Manta Ray is a great board for those taller riders 6'2" and up - I'm 6'2" tall and I use this board as my step-up. It has a tone of drive so you can hold your turns more and great for the bowl, but you can also get super radical with it on smaller ramps as shown in this video YEW!
Hope you enjoy and learn something - lemme know what ya'll wanna see next! HAPPY SURFSKATING YEWW!

Great content, skill and advice. Still haven't practiced airs. I'm 45, riding a 39" + SmoothStar Thruster 1.
Made a vid called "The Top Layer + Mud Flood rider.
Not here to advertise bro, realized long ago that my channel will always be a minor one. Just wanted to show my personal Land Surfing world.. for the riding field is vast.

Man that's crazy , what kind of wheels are you using going over grass like that
@@letsgoletsgoletsgoletsgoletsgo Anything between 65mm〜80mm works well. Currently using worn down Orangatang Purple Kegels.
Dude, you say you don't want to advertise but that's what you are doing. Not nice
@@99timewaster Not making a cent is what I meant. Try creating something and getting it out yourself. Not nice for doing a service for the world in my own way ay, thanks bud. I may be advertising the awesomeness of SmoothStar surf skates in various fields and passing that on.
Hey layton how loose/tight do you run the thruster? And the trucks? Agree on the leg burn😂 and the wheels, was thinking a harder compound may suit better.
I don't touch the thruster. It gradually gets looser over time. I never tighten mine as I love it looser than tighter, as I'm so accustomed to the looseness. If it's a brand new thruster, I wouldn't recommend tightening it, it's good to get used to the loose feeling. But after a few months if you feel its gotten too loose for you liking, give it a tighten. But again personally I never tighten the thruster as I like it loose. But if you've been riding it for a while and feel like you're skipping out on your bottom turns, give your back trucks a tighten first and see how they feel and then adjust the thruster accordingly if need be after that. And yes the leg burn is real, especially after leg day at the gym! haha YEW!
Hey man you’re really talented, are you sponsored?
Thank you! Yeah I am, I've been riding Smoothstar's for over 13 years now, no one really did it when I started, so it's sick to see it become more popular now! Check out my progression video to see how it all started YEW! ua-cam.com/video/HevhW4FgfcY/v-deo.html
I'm 200lbs and 6 feet . Manta ray or toledo??
Either, depends what sort of skating you want to do. the toldeo is great for everything, parks, cruising ect. Manta you can do everything on as well - its for those taller larger surfers. I'm 6'2" and the toldeo is like my performance shortboard. The manta is like my step up board when the waves get big. I like to use the manta in bigger bowls, hill bombs, cruising - it has a large wheel at the front and back so it's got more hold and drive through the turns. It's got the same deep concave on the deck as the toledo, so you can still get radical on it. It is slightly heavier, so not as easy to whip around as the toldeo. The toledo has a large wheel as the back and a medium sized one at the front so it going to give you more hold and drive through those top turns and bottom turns, but also give that extra bit of release off the top and looseness with those smaller front wheels. if you can afford it, go both, they're both great boards to have in you quiver being your height. But if not, go with the one that you think will suit more your style of skating better. Hope this helps YEW!!
@@YeWLayton thank you homie!!!
Bro be careful with your physique. It’s dangerous enough skating and surfing without adding sliding down slides on a skateboard recipe for disaster.
