How to use a Foredom foot control pedal with more than one tool

- This video will show you how to use a DJ power strip that will allow you to use one foot control with up to 8 different tools. This is a very simple setup and anyone can do it. =)

Thanks! This is awesome! This will work great for me as my work area is very small and very cluttered with lots of stuff (my dining room table to be exact and I store a ton of stuff underneath the table. It's the drawbac of living in a small one bdrm apt.). I currently use a regular power strip and plug or unplug things constantly (like my pickle pot) and I have to sort of crawl under the table to do it and it's really a pain. I've got 4 items plugged into that power strip (so far) and so this would be super convenient! Thanks for sharing such great tips! : )
No problem and I'm happy to see that so many people like this setup. Just so you know you can only plug things into this that will be controlled by the foot control. So you will have to plug your pickle pot into a different outlet. 😁👍
Fantastic idea and thanks for kind of affirming that I don't have to try to find and old original Dremel brand foot pedal to work with rotaries.

HI, I have that solder vent room, but haven’t seen it taped up to a exhaust tube. Cool. But it it exhausting just farther away, or did you cut a hole in the wall? And great idea for the switches! Going to use!Thanks!m
So I have it hooked up to a window fan and that is also in the window so it's just pushed outside 😁👍

You can use any foot pedal you like to make this work and this has worked with everything that I have plugged into it 😁👍
Hi i just came across your video which is very good by the way. I have a question, im a scale modeler and have a dremel 3000 and im getting a little sick of having to turn the thing on then off all the time when drilling or grinding multiple parts. i plan on getting a foredom ( when i can afford it ) so in the mean time i was curious would this work with the dremel and be able to control the speed of it with the foot pedal?? if i plug my dremel in at full blast then plug in the foot pedal would the foot pedal control the speed of said dremel?? thanks very much for your time.
So this will work with it but you will have very little control over the speed. Thing of it more of a of and on with the dremel. You can set your max speed and just leave it on so if you need to use it you just have to push the peddle.
Hi Adam, I used a Foredom foot pedal with my multi speed Dremel in just the way you described. It was not quite as smooth going from low to high speed as a Foredom flex shaft is, but it was quite serviceable.
sorry total newb here. Do you know if I can use the same foot petal and "dial speed control" that came with the powergraver with the SR Motor? I by accident ordered the power graver with pedal and dial speed control and they would not return it :( so hoping I could use the pedal and dial and just buy the SR motor and handpiece?? please advise!
It should work with the Foredom S, SR motors but not the Lx and Tx.
Check around I think you will find other videos that will show Foredom's working with other variable speed controls.
I just started listening, while I've done this on my own hope people realize that the Foredom TX and LX are DC tools and use a DC foot controller and would not work with this idea...
...and of course. some AC motors will die if you try to run at less than full capacity. Hence the drill press.
i know imlate with asking a question but im just now getting into ring making and was wondering if this would work on a wood lathe
Normally with a lathe you just set it to one speed. This should work on it but I honestly have never tried 😅

Hello, i have a 2 speed pottery wheel and am wondering if this will give me variable speed control..(switch to high, plug into pedal?) its proving to be a little tricky in getting a straight answer on this one.. thanks for any help :)
Maybe? This basically limits power so some electronics will change speed because of this but others will barely work and then need full power like my drill press it will start turning but it's really slow and kind of choppy or my old Dremel would do the same unless I push the pedal all the way down it would go to its maximum speed

By now you may have tried, usually NO! Likely a 2 speed motor that spins at @3500 or 1750 rpm and then reduced for the wheel mechanically. Same for grinders which can sometimes be 2 speed. If it has more than 2 speeds, you are likely fine.
