Thanks, Jenni! As always, I love the tips that you provide to help find those nuances in the poses and body. These isometric neck strengthening exercises are amazing! I'm looking forward to incorporating them in my classes and in my own life (as someone who sits at a desk all day and looks down at a phone often).
Thanks so much for your great feedback on these tips, Eden! I so appreciate it. And I'm really glad you're planning on incorporating the isometric neck strengthening work into your own life (and classes!) I've found that type of neck "TLC" to be a game-changer for many people! :)
Thanks for that feedback, Dotjeff! It is really common for us to have relatively weak neck musculature because we don't often "train" our necks specifically. I think the isometric strength work I featured in this video can be an excellent way to start and to make a big change. I hope enjoy trying them out!
Thanks for that great observation, Katrina! That's such a great point that neck isometrics would have benefits for sirsasana - and probably also shoulder stand as well. You can't go wrong getting strong, right? ;) Thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy working with the isometrics if you incorporate them into your practice!
Double chin land! 🤣 Thanks for the wonderful tips. I have neck injuries so I usually go for tip #1 in any poses that require extension. I'll try the isometric exercises you propose. 👌
I'm really glad to know you appreciate these tips, Ana Lucia - thank you! And tip #1 can be helpful, but you never know - those neck isometrics may be some beneficial input into your system that may allow you to expand #1 through a larger range of motion! Also haha yes - double chin land is the place to be sometimes. I'm glad I was able to amuse you with that! ;) ;)

These are perfect tips for me, as I have weak neck muscles that are frustrating when I’m doing yoga poses.

I love the idea of neck strengthen through isometrics! This would have benefits in other poses too like sirsasana/headstand.
