Thank your for your take. I really love Eau Givree. I personally consider it one of the best designers of the last years. That opening just gets me, but I also really enjoy that woody slightly metallic base. I’m lucky I guess since I really get good longevity out of it (6-8 hours) even when working out. I do apply quite heavy, 9-10 sprays but without reapplying.

That was a solid review. It is not easy to be both very critical and respectful at the same time. I sprayed at a drugstore and walked outside and got the same ‘it has no legs’ verdict after 20 minutes. And like you once said, that makes a fragrance without a use case and to me that means it is not worth the expense. It was reassuring to see the hype being contradicted by someone else as well 😉
I got 5ml original mini splash, can't commit to full bottle, will maybe get a 12.5/15ml original mini with a sprayer. I get these usually and save money (or rather buy 5-7 minis instead of 1 full bottle.) That being said, it lasts 6 hours on me, I usually wear it in 25-30°C temp. I love the opening, dry dow is too piny for me. Agree with 1-dimentiality, not much going on after 2 hours. Will be checking out Cedro di Diamante, thanks for the recommendation.

I often pick this one up whenever I walk into a designer perfume store. Unfortunately, I always felt like it lacks performance, which I cannot say about PDM Perseus, which, to my nose, plays a very similar role, or at least can be used in hot weather. I own neither of them and I don't think I will. Plenty of perfumes I like much better, hot weather or not (I wear King Blue in 35° no problem). Thank you for this video, Daniel. I'm off to watching it, curious to learn how you feel about Eau Givre.
Thank you for the video👍🏻 Original Terre d’Hermes parfum my husband’s favorite since release, not impressed with Tres frais version - too much grapefruit for me. On the citrus part have you tried Kobe Xerjoff? And what do you think about Profumum Roma?Have any perfume from this brand?
Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune is good and I ordered a sample of Cedro di Diamante based on your comments, however, the "best" grapefruit I've smelled is Summer of 84 from Kerosene.
You are absolutely right. This is nothing to write home about. To be honest... considering they are nearly the same price retail with Allure Edition Blanche, I'm not even going to explain what is the right decision... Eau Givree lasts 40 minutes on my skin, it's funny. For the life of me, I CANNOT smell the berries, which were the main buying aspect for me...
I sold my bottle because of what you said about the dry down. I put TDH Eau Givree on one day and I noticed after about 2 hours it was all but undetectable, and I asked myself...... what is the point of this? I understand it's a citrus fragrance with basically no base, but I do like my fragrances to last at least 4 hours or longer.
@@EndersFPS I’m selling/trading my bottle also. The opening is the best part of this and I don’t need it to extend to the drydown like that. I’m going to go for a simpler and higher quality citrus for when I need my ‘tart fix’. This is good for those people who own 1-5 fragrances total 🙂
Have you tried Byredo ‘oud immortel’ ? It’s got a limoncello opening which is quite unique, albeit smelling slightly synthetic and then settles into a limoncello oud. In summer time it’s quite potent. Projects a lot especially for a byredo. I doubt it has any real oud in it but it’s quite different. Worth a try on skin if you get a chance
Always loved the opening of this one, but the drydown just fell flat. Smelled like bitter clementine pith on my skin. Incidentally, I was torn between getting Cedro di Diamante or Mandarino di Sicilia back in the day and ended up with a bottle of the latter. Both lovely citrus fragrances.
Also been on the hunt for a dumb reach summer scent, and the same as you ended up buying eau givree because of all the hype in fragcom. Also blind bought Sospiro Vibrato for the same reason, which also turned out very underwhelming. If you tried any of those I’m interested to hear your thoughts.
@@AndreasHamberg I tried the Sospiro but not the PDM. I thought the Sospiro was trying way too hard and the scent profile has been done to death. There is also a metric ton of ambroxan in the base which I’m not a fan of. I would rather go with a sincere citrus at this point…
