The days when comedy shows were clean wholesome fun. I might have been born in 1981 but I love these oldies and goodies. Shows like this, I love Lucy, The honeymooners, Andy Griffith and Leave it to Beaver are some of the best.
my mom got this from the dollar store when I was 8 one winter. I thought it would be stupid, but it turned out to be one of the movies that I could watch again and again. Not to mention its funny and makes me think of my family.
Seee. See. The . Youngsters now adays. Don't know. About this.... this IS classical!!!!..... love these guys.....rest 8n peace brothers......always in our hearts!!!!!!....
Literally the first thing I was watching when my infant brain was beginning to perceive and hang on to memory. Thanks for having this on your channel I thought I had lost this film for good. Feels strange to remember every scene and watch it for the first time in a long time as if it was the first time. I appreciate it, see ya
I need this to remind me of just how awesome my childhood was! Every Sunday morning at 11am on WPIX 11 Alive in NYC, they'd show an Abbott and Costello movie.
I loved this movie growing up watched it every time I went to my dad's place. Mr. Dinklepuss is such a great name for a character if I had a cat I would name him that.
I love this an awesome old vintage film it's aired on the TV iraq in year of 1985or84 it's reminds me back to my childhood still keep watching it again as an old man
Just watched this with my housemate and I can't believe this is free for everyone, but damn if I'm not glad! This movie is dark, a little camp, but it makes for a fun time no matter your sense of humour
Haven't seen these in such a long time. Soooo funny. The one I loved most besides this was "The Time of Their Lives." There's so much stuff today labeled as comedy that just isn't and, mainly, it's because they try so hard for laughs. These movies the funny just happens -- you can't help laughing.
+Samalabear Well, they weren't all great films they did. This one was sort of a version of Wizard of Oz in a way. It is entertaining, I'll admit that. Time of their Lives was a different film for them because they weren't really teamed up in the film. Lou was a ghost and Bud was a modern person.
I had this on VHS as a kid and watched it probably once a week for years on end. In fact I still have the tape, but I no longer have a working VCR, and I haven't been able to find it on DVD anywhere, so getting to see it uploaded here is great. It's pretty dated now, though I'm surprised how a lot of the gags still land. My favourite is the scene where Jack and Polly are dancing, and she slugs him in the face for no reason LOL.
It's was a hard and long fight that Abbott and Costello have put up the money to put the movie Jack and the Beanstalk. Fighting with a major movie studio is not an easy thing to do. They won with the studio. It's Abbott and Costello's first color movie. And in the same year in 1952 they made another movie also in color titled, Abbott and Costello meet Captain Kidd, starring actor Charles Laughton. Just like the 1939 classic story movie The Wizard of Oz. Abbott and Costello in Jack and Beanstalk is my favorite.
Wow!! almost 64 years later and all in here are past tense and look at them; so well mannered compared to condescending-disgusting movies we see today.
Your right, they were tame on the screen and saved the hedonism for off screen. Im sure your of the opinion that with the "right" vote you can make everything great again!
Great films and series they made together. Jack and the bean stalk was one hilarious film. Nowadays they sure don’t make films the way it was made back them days. 😂👍 Thank You Pizza flix. Just subscribed as this film brought you to my attention.
I laughed at the part when Mr dinkle puss turned around and realized that was the giant’s shadow and he ran away and Jack did not know that he ran away because the giant was right behind him😂
Thanks for the movie 👍 From San Diego Cálifornia United States of America Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to all of you and your family ❤️ November/20/2019.
I was 3 or 4 when I first watched this then never remembered who did this spoof until I went through my dvds a couple of hours ago (it’s a bit late and didn’t want to commit to it in case I fell asleep)
Howdy movie goers, Could there be a more fun movie? Great characters, great story and really great music. "I Fear Nothing" played in my head for days after I first saw it. Buddy Baer was a superb not so bad "bad" guy in this film as well as a BAD "bad" guy in "The Giant From The Unknown." Mr. Dinglepuss, help me.......................... One of the best scenes is where Lou is drooling over the secretary at the employment agency and then she stands up. Eyes of blue and five feet two - well not so much the five feet two part. Get your chuckle hat on and have a good time.
I'm trying to find another old movie I saw as a kid. Not sure if it's 40's 50's or 60's, but the ending has a woman (maybe some sort of fairy?) in a sparkling blue dress (no, it's not Elsa) who I think decides to become human because she's in love, and so she transforms into a human woman wearing a less fancy green outfit. Her human boyfriend sees the transformation and gives her a big hug. Roll credits. Anyone have any idea?
i had joy watching these films they made a few that i can remember and this was one on my fav as a kid growing up in the 70's along with laurel and hardy films comedy and humour you wont get in films like these today as they make them to cheesy and some how not all that funny
I remember always hearing about Abbot and Costello being amazing comedians but not actually knowing who they were. Then when I was 15 I watched Who's on first and I realized they were those same two guys from the Jack and the Beanstalk movie I would watch every time I would stay at my grandparents' house as a kid.
A very powerful movie, indeed. Packed with a lot of hidden gems, specially representation of many archetypes like the Hero, the Shadow and the Devouring Mother.

Best line in the movie when Jack's mom cries as he goes up the beanstalk. Village woman comforts Jack's mom: "Don't worry Mrs Jack's Mom, he won't be back" I'm so saying that to my Mom when my brother leaves for college in the fall.
Lou Costello was born in Paterson New Jersey. This movie is good the comedy of Abbott and Costello was before Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. See how it's thestraight man Abbott and Dean Martin the comic Lou and Jerry.
I'm never sure watching this movie whether to be amused or concerned that the employment agency lady (aka Dorothy Ford, a beautiful actress) never undertakes an employment reference check on Jack or Mr Dinkle before giving them the job, gives them the address of the house that she has practically told them will be vacated by adults evening, and then Eloise leaves them alone at the house with Donald without so much as asking for their full names.
