I love the oddball shots that most wouldn't thought to film back then. The night shots of rides, sunsets, the sun shining on the waves coming in,etc.Rather forward-thinking in style.
I notice a sign for Macks Pizza on the boardwalk, That must be one of the oldest pizza place in NJ. Great video I love History, because you can learn from it, and if your old enough it brings back great memories of your youth.
Remember how close the water was to the boardwalk?!!!I remember being down there in the'60s on,to see my cousins.Every year the beach would grow to the desert that it is now..Amazing..The Flyer, the train,Joe's Pizza, the Sightseer, brings back so much....and WAATCH The Train car,PLLEEEase!!!
Wow, 59 years. Amazing to see what has changed, and what amazingly remains the same. Parts of the video could have been shot today. The best parts of Wildwood will always remain! The part with the map and the traveling little car was classic! You can tell if UA-cam was around this would have been posted! Thank you Joey for the history that would have been lost! Please support this channel with the Patreon page, it's worth every penny! Great Work Thanks Joey! 😎👍👍👍👍
Thank you so so much!! You have no idea how much I appreciate your support on my channel!!! Oh and yea this would have totally been on UA-cam if it was around back then. He put a ton of effort into it.
My grandparents had a summer house at 110 East Fern Road. Knew Mary, Vito, Nunzi, Dottie and Grace. This is what it would have looked like when my mom (Joyce) was just a kid. Nice video!!
I grew up 10 miles from Wildwood in the 1960s. You can see the original "Big Flamingo" sightseer boat at 3:22. It left from Sinn's dock in Wildwood Crest where the PT-109 boat operated from. Great video. Thanks!
@@WildwoodVideoArchive your right also i stopped at randys arcade yesterday and his business is doing great there was tons of people in there i was in there for almost 2 hours just playing fascination
Wow....thanks for sharing this! Its neat to see certain places or buildings that are still on the boardwalk today. I liked seeing the traditions of flag rasing and morning bike rides on the boards being the same for almost 60 years. The drive from Limerick PA was fun to watch. I just made a similar drive for a day trip yesterday. It must have been a real adventure to rely on pay phones paper maps and a late 1950s car to make the trip. I can also sympothize with that sad look when packing the car to leave for home, the worst feeling in the world is seeing Wildwood get smaller in the rear view mirror. Thanks for sharing the video, -Jason
Hey Jason!!! Thank you so much for watching. I am so glad you enjoyed it. To me this what a vlog / Day Trip Video from today would have looked like in the 60s. This gentleman made two other videos. I wish I knew his name. I love the flag tasing and bike rides. It shows that the classics stick around. And no one ever wants to leave wildwood.
This gem of a video is a real time capsule! From the year I was born, so it pretty much shows all the great memories I have of our family vacations at the shore!...'60s, '70s, and early '80s were my favorite times there. So much has changed, but we still go back every year!
Funny enough, before the GSP many people came via train. I’m sure at this time they saw a little bump but it was still so expensive to own your own car. The train was quick and cheap
Thank you Joey for making this video I love you channel so much and I like seeing the very vintage and old tram car in this video you make very good content which makes me feel happy
Irrelevant but RUNAWAY TRAM UPDATE: They got all the lights working except for a small part which is purple. It is very easy to miss. I’d say it is like 99.9% done. At least the lights
Very nostalgic. Compared to what we have today: How grainy the film was back then; no bikinis on the beach let alone thong bikinis; no black people on the beach!
OMG....I felt like my life just flashed in front of me. What great memories !!!
Awww!! So glad you liked it!!
That was awesome. I love seeing the history of Wildwood.
Thank you! I have a few more I am working on
Thanks for the memories. I was there that summer. I was 4 years old.

Thanks for the video-nice work with the 8MM…I vacationed there also, in those days, as a kid-it was a magical experience…thanks again for sharing!

Ya I always saw that as proof that the polar ice caps are in fact not melting.
@@DelbertSting-th7if Well,they are,but as to Wildwood losing beach,not happening,it seems.

I think I rode that same bike in '86

Born June 1960 - my grandmom and Uncle had a house on Hildreth! Miss them so much!
This is great love seeing the history of wildwood
It’s cool to see how things have changed over the years

Such great footage!!

Great video, brought back a flood of childhood memories. More please.
I love seeing the older era of Wildwood. But when I watch them, I enjoy them even more when I play the videos without sound.
Good stuff.
I wish it was still that time period. Life seemed slower, family and God still important to most. People dressed so much nicer too!
The beach scene, can we go back.
haha yes!
Always seems to rain the day you leave the shore!
haha that is so true. But isn't that better? Makes you feel like your not missing out on anything.
The soundtrack kept me watching.
I am happy to hear!! :-). I’ll make sure to add ones like that to my other film videos
awesome video. love seeing the past i wasn't there for!
And Walk Don't Run-Ventures,which was out in '60!
Awesome footage. It was nice to see wildwood back.in the day!
Everything seemed so innocent!
Such a cool old video👍
I actually watched the whole thing lol.. Nice footage 👍👍
Thank you so much!! These are fun projects I work on!

GSP was only 2 years old in 1960. Probably saw alot more people in WW after it was built. Beach looked crowded. Love the old movies of Wildwood

Amazing
Great video!
it was ok to be in the sun back then
Yeah, before we destroyed the ozone layer.
It would've been great to overlay a beach songs from Chubby Checker and Wildwood Days-Bobby Rydell!
I wish but copyright would have taken the video down. Thank you though
Love the vids man!! This one was cool. Keep them coming. Coming in a week can’t wait. Any news on the Runaway Tram??
Thank you so much!! Sadly no update as of yet. I’ll film another update this weekend.

TY for sharing would u know what happened to johnny pizza on boardwalk also r these people still alive.?
Sadly I have no idea. I can try to reach out
How about the value of all those late '50's to '60 cars now!!!Just imagine....
Watch the tram car, please.
10:02 Gas 25.9 cents per gallon.
Yeah, that was considered expensive because you were at the beach.
A gallon of water cost more than a gallon of gas back then
That would be great now
Biden didn't do THAT,that's for sure....
Was that the “Big Pink Flamingo”??? 3:18
Yes
Yes
Over half of these people are dead now! I was 20 years old in 1960, my time soon I guess.
