When I went in again those guys you first faced, I snuck along the right wall, use the wall as cover and then worked my way through the interior. grenades worked so well. 😁 I'm really enjoying this game.
Yes, if kruglov walks over a better gun than the one he has, he automatically picks it up. All NPCs do I think. You can arm the captured duty guy in dark valley the same way. You may have to sell them a small amount of ammo too or they'll run out, cant remember.
@anomalousinsect there's a bug for repairing broken guns too. Find a pistol carrying zombie (common in yantar near x16), throw the gun you want fixing in front of it, wait for it to get picked up, then shoot zombie & get gun back. The gun will be in better condition after. Btw professor sakharov has a mission for ghost's armour, give it him & the reward is a much better armour. Best all round suit in the game imo. Also, you can enter the duty Base at rostok now i think, the commander has some cool missions with good rewards, plus there's another trader in there hidden away to the side. Good hunting, stalker!
Check the mercenaries on the top of the building in wild territory (seen at 49:25 here) if they spawn, they often carry scoped 5.56mm nato rifles better than the one you got. They take a grenade launcher attachment too.
@@anomalousinsect I wondered over to Yantar not fully remembering how it was in the old game. Ran across the field NW (toward x-16 exit) and was greeted with more of a "I should not be here right now." Lots of Snorks like the old game

Yesss. That's actually my usual play but figured I would try something different. 😂 So glad you are enjoying this!!
@anomalousinsect What is fascinating is how much some VR games have taken from these original games.

I appreciate all the tips, stalker! It's looking like I need to take a trip back to Yantar sooner than I thought I would.

They rebuilt Rostok so well in HOC. Familiar places and some adders The area at 5:00 is like twice the size now.
Oh that rocks. I put Stalker 2 on the back burner for now to simmer for updates, to focus on finishing this series and play the GAMMA update..haha.
