I don't get why they didn't just say walking a 5K is a worthy goal for someone her size. Finishing a 5K in under 45 mins would be great for her. I wogged (walk/jog) some 5Ks and 8Ks. I do better trying to be consistent with a brisk walk than trying to run.

Totally agree. Her hips can't take it either...I have severe degeneration in both hips from RA and when I was HALF Anna's weight, my extra weight doubled the rate at which my hip joints eroded AND increased inflammation so I had much more pain. At her age, she is prone to all kinds of joint issues...and she would be ineligible for joint replacement without significant weight loss.

I have been watching him for maybe a year or so. I hated him at first as I am not a fan of swearing and I believe he is more intelligent than having to rely on swearing to be relatable. But love him or hate him he has experience in the health care business and life coaching and fitness and does a lot of research (as CAN WE ALL if we want to, although some of the really doctor oriented medical articles are really hard to read and my father was a physician who read his medical journals every day, and I read some of them if they were interesting.) Alan has never said anything that I found was wrong or unsupported.

You are right, I’m a big girl, about 100 pounds overweight, I’m moderately active, but I still wouldn’t dream of running a 5k. I’ve started getting into shape last year, lost seven inches overall fat and still work in process. Walking has helped tremendously, as well as swimming and biking. I’m also trying to reprogram my mind to eat better which is a long process. This girl is setting herself up for failure because she’s trying to get immediate results. She will either injure herself to be lame for months on end and gain more weight or give up before any real progress happens. I have been there, been a part of both senarios.

For real. I lost 101 lbs and have kept it off 4 years with 0 exercise (severe hip degeneration) just by reducing my calories to 1500 per day / 2 meals a day, no snacking. BODIES ARE MADE IN THE KITCHEN, NOT AT THE GYM. I ate healthier homemade versions of all of my favorite foods- pastas, pizza, rice dishes, burritos, sandwiches, etc so I was/am totally satisfied.
Anna's "health journey" always confuses me because she portrays herself as working out consistently but
never discusses/address her caloric intake. For a woman her height/weight who is relatively active and works out rigorously 3+ times per week, she would need a MINUMUM of 4,500 calories a day just to maintain her weight. Eating is a part-time job for her. If she just reduced her caloric intake to 2500 a day (which is a LOT of food) and walked for 30 minutes daily she could easily lose 25 lbs per month
Now that the weightloss injections are no longer effective, she's backsliding and regaining at an alarming pace. I reject and resent her claim that she's "healthy" I would bet money that she has high blood pressure, high blood sugar, fatty liver disease, artery disease, sleep apnea, high cholesterol and an enlarged heart. She isn't doing herself or her supporters any favors with her phony fitness charade.

She is devoted to multiple chip snacks every day but believes because they add 10 grams of protein they're fine. I tried one of them (the processed chicken chips) and threw the bag in the trash after tasting them (and they were expensive.)

Thai is the core of the problem. They have to deal with their attraction to carbs, sugars and high salt and calorie daily foods, chips and garbage foods. This is the addiction because they could eat a whole lot of healthy foods, chicken, beef, fish, shellfish, some rice and pasta or beans in controlled amounts, even a little bit of pizza with fresh vegetables and without the cheese and sausage and still be happy and satisfied, but they don't believe it as it will take them three or even six weeks to lose their carb and sugar addiction and they won't trust the process.

Knowing the effect it can have on the bones ligaments tendons cartilage fluids discs vertibrae etc. They should encourage her to do water training in a pool for resistance and flexibility first. Maybe since this is teaching out to the massive people in the FA community they could all invest together to build themselves a pool for aqua training and associate it with run lab. I made a comment on TinyBlueDancer's video when she reacted to this on her channel and I wanted to comment again because I think people need to understand what Anna could achieve by just walking if she stuck with it and actually did what she says she does.
Anna claims she has been running for months? but is just learning that she can't even walk properly? I still think Anna was never running.
I have been consistently walking since mid-2021. I was coming off of two abdominal surgeries for endometriosis and had to work through a bunch of scar tissue. I wasn't working out and at 4'10" I was about 190lbs. I was struggling. So i started to take easy walks for 15 minutes playing Pokemon Go. I wasn't "working out" I was playing Pokemon. I stuck with that about every other day. Then it slowly moved up from 15 minutes or about half a mile (1,500 steps) to a mile (3,000) and it went from every other day to everyday. As a few more weeks passed I was at about 5,000 steps a day. I was being very consistent even as summer was coming to an end. I was working full time as well. That moved on to 7,500 steps to 10,000 and then 10,000 to 12,500 because for me that was five miles. By the beginning of 2022 I was walking 5 miles a day. I walked 5 miles a day every day for the year of 2022. I had lost about 25 pounds and was keeping it off.
2023 rolls around and I make it a goal to walk 20,000 steps a day because I had upped my miles over last year from 5 miles to 7 miles because I was getting faster. I was clearing more miles in less time. I went from 175 at the end of 2022 to 150lbs by the end of 2023. I was tracking calories and just taking it slow.
2024 has started and I'm up to 8 miles a day but my pace is about 14 minutes a mile. I keep that pace for an entire 2 hours and sometimes I can get it in about 12:50 minutes. This is still my walking pace, now it might be speed walking but it's still walking.
Anna doesn't need to do all of this. She doesn't have to run but she needs to be consistent. Consistent with her exercise, consistent with her diet. Most of my weight was lost through diet, the exercise just helps me eat a bit more because I am so short. Anna doesn't have to! She just needs to eat less and track her food. She needs to understand that weight loss happens in the kitchen and fitness happens in the gym (or outside). Exercise is for the brain.

All i can say about running...
    You start slow
    You do your stretches
You start walking, gain velocity and go from there, there are ofc pains, called in my country, lazy pain donkey pain 😂... Makes more sense in my language, sorry.... 😂😂 but what i never hear is the endorphins that running gives you❤
I cannot explain, but after and even during, with me, there is a burst of energy/happiness.
    ❤❤❤
And you can always dance, pick a video and just dance❤😂
I see this person more committed to shoes than to proper exercise... And yeah... She is crazy if she thinks running is good for her....

I'm 5'10 and 200 pounds. I'm 18 months deep into my weight loss/fitness journey. I go to the gym 6 days a week. I walk, low impact cardo, and strength train.
I've tried jogging a few times. I paid for it dearly. I jogged/walked on concrete one night for 45 minutes. It almost put me out of commission. My hips, my ankles, my feet. Holy moly.
That's from someone who walks 40 minutes a day at least plus other cardo.
You can't carry around a bunch of extra weight for years and expect your body to automatically function the way you want, unfortunately.
BTW, I also have lipodema. Primarily in my thighs, so even though they've shrank dramatically, that's still where I carry most of my extra weight.
Watching her run on concrete, ouch!

How does anyone get this big?
I grew up in the 70’s. I never used to see anyone this big to where their mobility was threatened and exercise was considered possibly dangerous.
I have been a casual runner since I ran JV track at 12. Enlisted in the Navy after a year of college. Went back and got a bachelor’s, and have worked a civilian career for 33 years. So-an average life…
I am 175 and 5’9”. I bicycle any chance I get. I have been dining out with my parents too much and am shoehorned into size 16 Levi’s Mom Jeans. I am forcing myself to watch this drivel until I fall asleep.

I don't either and it makes me hesitant to say anything. But there was an interesting experiment recently where a healthy weight man ate only fast food for a month. Not only did he gain weight, but they studied the changes in his brain and found that new pathways were developed linking the pleasure centers to eating certain foods, especially fast foods. So an initially unadvised diet can lead to actual addiction, which we should recognize as similar to a drug addiction and needs appropriate treatment. I am not excusing this but it is more serious than just telling people to eat less every day.

I’ve been watching Anna’s videos, on and off, for over a year. Although she talks about weight loss and working out, getting healthier, I don’t see any significant change.
I like her, on video she comes across as a genuine and thoughtful person but in my opinion she’s facing a dilemma………she has built her platform and following on ‘fat acceptance’ however, in truth, I’m sure she knows that being morbidly obese has serious implications for her long term health, especially if she wants to meet someone special and start a family.
But if she really gets healthy and drops a huge amount of weight I think she’s worried she’ll lose all her followers and be branded a ‘sell out’.
She needs to make a decision…..increase her chances of a longer and healthy life by dropping the pounds…..or not…..
