The absolute euphoria of reading that title is indescribable, no one EVER admits when I had a point! Thank you for the acknowledgement, I hope LaDS learns to cater more to the mom demo, I genuinely think it is a previously untapped market that has a TON of potential.
I do agree the older demographic can bring in a lot of revenue to the game.
At the same time I also think a lot of younger people (mid/late teens to mid twenties) will feel cringe if they think a significant proportion of older people (30's maybe..) actually play this game much. And may abandon the game (like Facebook). And that could be the developers' concern.
@@Nice-Biscuit Unfortunately I've seen a lot of fangirls cringe at Otome Visual Novels from a company named Voltage in which some of the MC's are in their 30s and they call them pathetic and old (as 42 year old woman I guess I'm a fossil to them). It's awful how these young girls are brainwashed by patriarchal standards that being in your 30s is suddenly being practically geriatric.

Honestly all the gacha games I play just lump my age in with over 40’s. I’ve been playing video games since I was a little kid, literally almost 40 years, but this is just life. Once a woman is over thirty no one cares about us anymore. It doesn’t matter I’m still going to play. I guess I didn’t really even think about it because that’s just how all games are. If you’re over 40 they don’t actually care what your age is… it’s dumb. I try to ignore it and just play what I want lol.
I agree it's stupid. I'm actually hoping for a female run gacha or otome company to make a game. I just want to see how well it would do since they'd actually understand how to appeal to ALL legal aged females out there. It sucks that this type of treatment is something that people have to "get used to". In general, even outside the scope of gacha games, I think that kind of treatment and mindset is so twisted. Society shouldn't discard anyone just because of age or any other long list of categories. *sigh* I just wanna be happy with my 3d animated men lol Life in Linkon sounds better than out here rn lmao

As 42 year old woman it is disheartening when everything is practically catered to teens and 20-something year olds. Once you hit the big 30 it's like women are invisible. Oddly this isn't the case for men.
I will say I wish I could play as Captain Jenna, an older experienced woman. While MC is nice her immaturity at times does get on my nerves and makes me cringe, especially when she's with the 2 older men, Zayne and Sylus. I just feel there's a lot of ageism in the otome community yet people only focus on wanting a different gender for the MC when that would make the game not Otome. Would've much preferred an older protagonist at least in her 30s. But yeah, I know us 40-somethings are a very tiny minority in this fandom.
So I’m not quite in the age that was affected by this as I’m still in my early 30’s, but it did sit with me a bit wrong. I was like wow ok. Just lump the older players together 🙄😒. But then I thought, maybe they thought their player diversity wasn’t that high and this was a way to gauge who is actually playing the game. The older audience does have more disposable income than a young twenty something year old in college, so to me it would make sense to assume that maybe a nice chunk of the audience was older. 🤷🏾♀️ But I could be biased as all of my friends are in their late twenties and early thirties that play this game. I’m hoping this was a wake up call to the devs. This game should not be in any way catered towards minors, and hopefully once they see that the majority of players are fully grown and have been for a while, they add more spicy stuff, and the age rating will increase. Please cater to your adult audience of all ages InFold!
Fantastic Comment! I agree 100% with all your statements. As I've mentioned in a previous video, a huge part of the booktok community would eat this game right up and a lot of that community is the late 20's and up. It just makes sense for LADS to really just take the plunge into that pool of players and listen to their feedback especially since they can actually afford all the value packs and what not. I’m a huge LADS fan, and enjoy your helpful tips and the excitement you bring for possible content in the future. It really is disheartening when you enjoy something and either see them not take their player’s feedback into consideration, or ignore the actual demographic who play the game in favor of who they want to target. I’m happy they are taking strides to help out with the limited resources, but then when things like this happen it’s like taking two steps in the right direction and one step in the wrong. 😑
If they were to ask how much each player spends on the game each month, they'd notice really quickly who their target audience should be. It was such a shock to see the cut-off at 1984. Took me a minute to adjust and I was before the cut-off, so I can't imagine how it felt to be after it 🤧

This is the same for genshin, HSR, and others gacha. I’m not sure it’s that important, as someone in that bracket. I’m kinda used to it by now.
Now that really makes me wonder if this is a cultural thing or if it's just the way gacha will always be regardless of the country of origin. Like would the demographic market be different or the same if an otome gacha game was created by a western company? I think it's an objective question that I hope one day I'll get the answer to
@@Gacha_Goblin More than likely. Western people have totally different standards especially with the whole gender identity thing. A lot of complaints I see are predominantly on why they don't include different genders. But really, imo, they should focus on different races and ages which have always strictly been about the typical Asian beauty standard (though it makes sense since it's from a Chinese company but having a create-a-character feature with different skin color of the MC knows they want it to be accepted globally).
I doubt the Asian market sees a profitable business model for catering to older women. Mostly they think of older women in Asia just to be working or taking care of the family, not romancing hot twenty-something year old men (even though Xavier and Sylus might be older...at least it's hinted at). Asian culture is just very conservative, western audiences seem to not get that Asian culture is very strict with their standards.

Well, I'm on my 25th tomorrow and I still play otome games. So when this came out I'm soooo excited to finally have a 3d guys as a Love Interests. It was so immersive and kinda like you are looking to a real fictional LI that's also kinda looking at your soul (from the screen😚). I believe that the developers are still entering a new era of an immersive otome game where it calls new players who just got introduced to these kind of game. Younger girls are kinda more prideful because of the Love Interests ages and it feels kinda traditional that this games were meant to them. When older girls before ignore otome games where you only interact with 2D boyfies and is not this kind of immersive. 🕊 Thankfully I'm past that age 😆. Yesterday was my first time watching a woman in her 40s(or below) I think reacting to a comment of a 17 yr old girl. She had children who calls the 4LIs as space boyfies 😂. Please girls younger than me-Adults actually fund these games if you want more immersive 3D Love Interests Do Please be kinder and not Let our obssessiveness hurt the comfort of fellow women. Whether what age they are...😗
This comment made me laugh and feel sad at the same time. Thank you so much for commenting. It's 100% true what you said. As someone who was once that same exact way, younger girls can be overly possessive over their "crushes". Much like how fanbases in kpop can become extremely feisty for no real reason. It really takes age and maturity to understand that content from any form of media like LADS is meant for a large group of people. AND YES! The seasoned adults FUND THE GAME. So instead of being close minded and inconsiderate, its actually smarter and more humane to be kind and supportive of the older players of any gacha game.

Gaming is so mainstream right now. And being able to game on a phone makes it way more accessible than it has ever been. Gaming isn't just for teens and young adults anymore. I think game studios globally need to understand that.
And I agree 12+ is not a suitable rating for the game. I hope they just go 18+ with LADS. 😆❤️ It's already 18+ in CN (so I've heard).
I would love if this game was 18+ hahaha more spice for us! But you're so right. Gaming has seen an enormous rise in popularity over the past couple decades and I think including more people in your target audience would be the smartest way to go. Gamers 20 years ago are most probably still gamers now and so on and so forth. This is just adding to the growing list of things I hope to see from LADS lol
@@Gacha_Goblin I doubt they would make it 18+ because there's no incentive to do so. People are already spending money on it as is and also it would lockout alot of the minors from playing the game, who PaperGames might think would be potential long-time paying customers in the future.
I do think these games shouldn't be advertised to minors since even in Casinos, at least in the U.S. you have to be 21 years and older and in Europe 18. So to think that this gambling game is advertised to people under 18 is something I wish Google and Apple would crack against, but unfortunately I don't see that happening.

Yeah really...i'm neither a mother nor do I like Soccer. So...but she's young so they have that type of mindset when they're that age.
I'm not a mother,but a brother and enjoy the game with my sister and older family members who apparently are in love with love and deepspace! I hope for the best for every age to be loved and appreciated! Especially mums,or even those who aren't,but are still mature women. Mature women deserve recognition and appreciation in every gaming genre❤
I don't play LDS, but I do play the Nikki franchise so I stay up to date with LDS 'cause I noticed that Paper's newer games are starting changes in the industry.
I can understand making surveys according to social/cultural norms in China, but the whole point of having different servers is to cater to different markets, right? They could have changed the surveys accordingly.
I also find it weird that they're ok with minors seeing this content, but they're picky about the older age groups. It would be better to bring up the age rating for the game...

Yes, that survey kinda rub me the wrong way (I'll be lying if I say I wasn't a little sad) but you know what, gotta say I'm used to it. Maybe I have made my peace with Otome Games in general, but I try not to let things like this get in my way of enjoying myself. Life is too short. I'm turning 44 in a few days, and I'm proud of my age. And for peeps who thinks that 40 somethings are too old for this kinda games, well... I will say... you need to open your eyes. Age is just a number, it does not define you. But side note, the devs really shouldn't offend the market that pays for their game. I am just gonna say that right here. I've made my opinion about the age rating in one of your previous videos, and I still have the same opinion about it, they really should raise the age rating to 18+. I don't even feel comfortable to know that 12+ audience are reading the Misty Invasion cards!

Actually, there was one time i was very annoyed at an otome game targeted at my age demographic..i can't remember the name of it. I believe it was made by Voltage. You play as a woman in her 30's who is single and everyone is insulting her for being older,unmarried and unattractive. It was so over the top and ridiculous. I hated it SO MUCH! LOL 😆 I am insulted by crap like that. But with the survey, im chill. Im assuming if they see a lot of 40+ players, they will look into it and want feedback as to why they like the game and improve from there.
Yeah I've heard of that game you're talking about. The otome fanbase weren't kind either saying she was pathetic and old and she was only in her 30s... It's odd that a lot of young people are so progressive in some things but so backwards in others. But again, any women over the age of 30 is a tiny minority in this fanbase so I doubt PaperGames will give us much stock. They would just be like "Huh? Ok. That's interesting. Ok is (Insert popular KPop idol) available to advertise for the game for the twenty-somethings? ". I doubt we'd ever get a protagonist like Captain Jenna for us older women to play as.

I know i'm not the target demographic and I doubt they'll ever cater to me. The gaming industry is still backwards on the age range and even sex on who actually play their games. I think they mostly see the younger fanbase as advertising the game through their social media and also as future potential paying customers, so thus that's how they aim to get their money by pandering to them.
While the Misty Invasion is sexy, it's not graphic . I doubt they will ever raise the age range because, again, it will lockout future potential paying customers, plus why should they? People are already paying for it so like the saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Also, I don't think Google and Apple would allow a game with such uncanny valley graphics to be put on their stores. It would be borderline pornographic and it would create a lot of controversy which I'm sure PaperGames, Google and Apple don't want.
Also...even Zayne's Misty Invasion card, while the steamiest, it did look a bit awkward. It looked like two mannequins just laying on top of each other and they still haven't render the kissing well. So imagine the clipping that will present itself with more, ahem, advance positions.

Yeah there are definitely down times for all gacha games in general. But it's a way to give an opportunity for F2P players to get the current running memories so I understand. Console like the switch? I think that's the only console that you can play otome games on right?
