Trying to Break the 420cc Lifted Go Kart!

- In this video we get a little bit too confident in our 420cc offroad go kart. This kart was originally a trailer park find for $50 and over some time we've managed to build it into what it is now. When we were driving it we decided to test the homemade go kart snorkel we made as a budget air box but we got in a little bit too deep of water and it didn't want to run after that. Also in this video we install some v-tread tires from go power sports that really make this thing plow through ridiculous amounts of mud.

Styrofoam secured to the frame or 2 liter bottles to make it buoyant so you can cross water. The tires should be able to rotate and move the cart foreword. Put a pan under and around the engine.

I have a good question why do you pump the gas pedal when you're starting the engine there is no accelerator pump in them. Carberator
When you submerge a small engine in water, you are instantly bringing it down to room or lower temperature which means that you need to use the choke again. I just did that with my minibike a couple weeks ago. Turn the choke halfway and the engine should stay on with some gas pumping.
Skinnier front tires will help you great deals. Pushing a tire that wide on front, end up turning into a bulldozer and not rolling through or over mud

It needs a conversion to a conventional canister coil setup with either points or with a solid state coil driver... and then all electrical connections dielectrical greased/sealed to prevent water shorting of the ignition system and charging to be done by an external alternator setup
Also the exhaust needs modified if you plan to submerge it look at a house sink drain you'll notice it has a p- shaped trap in it... you will need to put a flipped version in your exhaust to keep the water out between exhaust pulses. You can actually hydrology through the exhaust too.
D L even if you get it all water proofed. The drive belt will slip pretty bad when wet!
John Abell Jr well there are several solutions out there to that as well such as a 2 speed transmission with double pulley clutch or fully enclose the cvt with a forced air cvt intake (I had to do this to my 50cc moped for other reasons...I'll just say it isn't anywhere near stock and literally was melting it's belts).

Carb has water in it and squeeze your air filter out and clean your carb if this doesn't work could be electric issues

Build something to protect the belt and engine that you can take off put a solid axle in it and lift the front end with thiner tires with more tread and you gotta do something about the exhaust pipe it's way to low

your coil/plug is wet. itll run just fine when it drys out. same thing happens when you get water inside a distributor on a truck

It's the torque converter, those don't work in water or in dirt.
Don't keep on slaming the gas pedal press it and then hold it.

Damn I would’ve loved these when I was 12. Always wanted to build my own but traded my ATVs and dune buggy for a sport bike when I left for school in the city lol
I think you got water into the carburetor or into the engine one of the two and if it got anything engine drain everything putting new oil in the spark plugs see if it'll fire up again I would definitely probably do a carb job on it I'll try to reseal it better next time enjoy watching your videos hopefully we see what you guys do good luck
it was downing out the ignition system the coil uses the fly wheel to make the power for the spark just like a lawn mower
Most likely shorting the magneto to ground (the coil uses magnetic induction to create the spark energy from the building and collapsing of a magnetic field as the magnet(s) pass by the coil) normally in order to shut down a magneto you ground out the coil so that it cannot generate the induction charge needed to create the spark for the engine to run (and that is a simplified description of how it works) the reason it starts sputtering is because it is getting an intermittent short to ground
