There are three moments in football that gave me goosebumps: United in '99 winning the Champions League (I'm a United fan), the first 4-3 Liverpool over Newcastle, and WBA staying up. It's why we watch sport.
I can't help but cry rewatching this, I remember it being close to impossible to get a ticket and my Dad had gone to 60/70% of the home games that season with my Brother. We were sat around the radio in the kitchen listening to the commentary. I was 7 at the time and It was the first time I'd seen my dad cry, it's the moment I fell in love with football and I've maybe rewatched this 15+ times
AMAZING DAY. Only time I've cried at the football. It's not been all easy being an Albion fan the last 10 years but a day like that makes you realise why its so special. West Bromwich Albion - greatest football club in the world.
My best memory as a Baggie. We played some great football the following couple of seasons as well. I hope we can get a bit of flare back into our play and spend a bit of money. Not often I'm jealous of the Wolves, but I'd like to see us build an exciting squad like they have
Still amazing to watch all these years later.. remember when the first goal went in and going absolutely crazy. Then when the other game went to 2-2... One of my best memories in 25 years of being a baggies fan .
Funny how some Chelsea and City “fans” complain about 2nd place and an FA Cup, yet WBA fans celebrate staying up like they’ve just won the UCL. These are proper football fans
One of the greatest “great escapes” I can remember. Perhaps not as good as the irons survival in the 06/07 season, but watching this gave me goosebumps
64 years a baggie I was there got married in 2005 my mate Dave"s Pompey mate got us tickets so sat in the Pompey support until Richardson popped his in then the coat came off they were cheering with my us bloody marvelous support both teams great day shame we struggle so much . was navy in Portsmouth. loved it. in 2023 are we going up again? Coventry today. coyb great post made me cry suffered a Stroke in 22 so don't get to games. great post. godbless and love from Suffolk, England .
Im a West Brom fan. The two games that give me goosebumps are this one and Uniteds win in 99 champions league. United and West Brom both looked dead and buried.... and yes it's why we watch football
This is one of my main reasons I wish I was born in Europe. The LOYALTY yall show to your clubs is unreal. Here in the U.S. everyone jumps from team to team every season
@tennis4life20082000 Hey, thanks. I think things are looking good for us at the moment. I agree, Hodgson is a great manager. If we do stay up this year, which I think we will, I think he is the man who will turn is into a good Premier League club.
Well sometimes you need a couple of wankers like your self to get motivated time to time. W. B. A. You lot will never be in the premier league for a very long time.

Best day ever! Even the Pompey fans were cheering as it meant Southampton went down (hence the noise level).
I was at that game "let them score"

Your story made me a bit teary eyed. Football is beautiful.

Keith Johnson - only cos it meant they could send Southampton down
We totally did….our players knew the score
It was a fairly meaningless game to them tbf
@@hakc97again nah, us winning sent the saints down
One of the very few times the whole stadium & both sets of supporters want one team to win
Lmao, Portsmouth 100% let us win, look at the defenders at the last goal! Got to love it🤣
still brings tears to my eyes. in 34 years of being a baggie, that is still the best moment. the GREAT ESCAPE, never to be forgotten.
