Nice one. I use a diamond chisels and don't have the reverse one - I just flip the piece of leather instead! I really like your no bullshit approach to videos, straight to the point. No essays on how awesome bump jigs are (wink wink).
@@BlackFlagLeatherGoods one thing I feel unsure about is how to decide on the combination of chisel size, thread size and needle size. Would be amazing if you could make a video on this
@@jnhhhhhhhh if you order John James needles just buy the one according to the size of thread. I personally like 5mm spacing diamond chisels with .8 or .6mm tiger thread or .035 Maine thread. Hmu I can shoot you some pics of my stitches
I actually got it from a guy on Instagram who no longer makes them. There are a bunch of good places to get them though. Leather Stamp Maker probably being the most popular.
Does the top edge of the full card pocket sit directly behind the bottom edge of the t-pocket (ie: flush with the brown backing leather) or is it laying on part of the t-pocket?
Question. Where did you get your makers mark from? I’m currently on the look out for a good place to order from and having a hard time. Just wondering if you would share your thoughts on this.
For those with issues on the size (like I did) you may need to print your cutouts in landscape mode. I noticed after I did the cutouts that they seemed very small for a wallet. It was my first attempt at leatherworking so I didn't think anything of it until I cut it all out. There's a noticeable size difference printing in portrait or landscape mode. The bad part is the "measurement" included in the pdf comes out perfect even in portrait mode so I thought it was all good.
This was a combination. The brown stuff is 5oz. The darker one is around 3oz. I've made this wallet with a wide variety of weights though. It's pretty versatile.
Thank you so much. I just started leather work this month and this tutorial helped so much. Also double thank you for making the pattern free.
What a legend, the best template on youtube and free!! Made this in a few hours.
Aw man thank you! This is my favourite template I've made. Glad you like it.
Thank you for the clear presentation, and the pattern.
Thanks for the template, this will be my first project as you have made it look simple
The 2" rectangle still measures 1 7/8 "
I like adding a stitch groove line especially on the t pockets to sink the thread in more and decrease bulk
I've yet to try the stitch groover. Speakeasy leather does that with the hole punch style. One day I'll give it a shot
Hey man, love your vids! I'm a knifemaker trying to venture into leathercrafts. Vids like this are great to watch, thanks
THank you Tim !! Look great !!
Thank you, Marc!

Haha! Thank you! I do love a bump jig though! I 3D printed some for myself. Generally I just eyeball stuff though.

How mm is the leather m8
Hmmm I'm not sure. It's a combination of 5oz and 3oz leathers. 2mm and 1.5mm maybe?
