Hi Beenay, Word doesn't really have an option to reorder pages. You need to organize everything into sections, then move the sections accordingly. That would be the easiest and most efficient way to reorganize pages. That's more of what this video is trying to accomplish.
Technically Word doesn't view your document in "pages" but rather by sections. If you reorganize your pages into sections, then you can reorganize pages. That is the goal of this video.
Hi Family Zone, Word doesn't see text in terms of 'Pages', therefore you cannot rearrange pages by page number. Instead, you need to organize your pages by headings and reorganize your headings. So if you reorganize your headings by pages, you can then move pages.
Hi Sarosh, You need to arrange your pages by headings in the navigation pane. Word 2016 doesn't have a method for easily moving around pages since Word views sections as headings rather than pages.
You helped me Soo much, your the best. I didn't organiz my book content, and I didn't want to retype it, so thih helped me to move it to the first chapter and not the 3rd chapter
Instead of flaming, Adam has in the comments proposed a solution. You can't rearrange the pages themselves. You have to do it by sections/headings. What some of you are not getting is, it is fine if you are wanting to switch individual pages around, that would be good. But what if your text, under the heading ran over several pages? If you had the ability to move a single page around at a time, then moved one page that was the first of three pages, it wouldn't make sense. The sections he is talking about, is giving your page/s headings. Then you move them in the navigation pane like he is showing. :D
At the top, there is a light bulb that says, "tell me what you want to do." I clicked on that and typed in move page. It gave me a button to either move the page up or down. It worked perfectly for me. Hope that helps.
Thanks so much Professor I was doing an assignment with word, and I used shapes for making a diagram, since I barely used a lot of words I needed to add a page manually so thank you.
I'm not sure you can so easily move section of a Word document around in Navigation pane in Word for Mac. They didn't include all the features, but I'm going to try to do it on a book I'm writing. Wish me luck. Yes, I save a backup of the original in case everything goes south.
Hi Patricia, You are correct, the navigation pane functionality is different on a Mac. Try putting your Word doc into outline view and moving sections around using that method.
