In this video, I’m going to show you everything you need to know about page numbers in Microsoft Word. I’ll show you how to firstly add page numbers to a document and then go on to adding page numbers that start from a specific page.

I went over and over the instructions on the help site for Microsoft and it never did work. Your instructions were clear. First, I did not see on Microsoft's help page that I should have both a page and section break on the second page. Also, Microsoft does not tell you to click on the actual page number you want to start with (the former 3, in this example) and set it to zero or to delete the other page numbers in the other sections. This made it clear. Thanks - and I'm giving a thumbs up.

Thank you for this video. It's fairly simple, however I added a cover page and TOC after the page numbers were inserted. It appears the Different First Page is making it more difficult for me to restart the page numbering at the correct page. Should I uncheck Different First Page? I believe this is automatically added when I inserted the cover page. Thank you
