I got this transmission/ transfer case as part of a trade for a 4.2L engine that I plan to put in my 1963 AMC Rambler project. This Peugeot transmission has a reputation for being unable to handle horsepower and aggressive driving. It served no purpose for me, so I listed it for sale and apparently it serves no purpose for anyone else as no one bought it. As I have somewhat limited space and an excess of other parts, this had to be parted out along with the attached NP231 transfer case. I have a transmission of those but simple (4x2), and I have to change the ball bearings and retainers, thanks for the video, best regards from Panama!🇵🇦🇵🇦👍

OMG, why did you tear it apart. Mine broke because I abused it. Just needed a new bearing. Actually very straight forward to work on with parts available they say. I could fix it without dealing with shifter balls and pins which appears to be a big time pain in others. forget what the say online, just a bunch of whiners to the extreme just like BMWs. Pease save any other auto parts you have, they are becoming more valuable, really! :)

I didn't have a reason to keep this weak trans and no one bought it, so it got torn apart. Just the reality of it.

I've only got so much space unfortunately so people need to buy parts as well. I've had things I couldn't even give away sadly.
