  • I wanted to share my impressions on the UPLIFT 4-Leg Standing Desk with a real wood butcher block frame. In the video, I review my thoughts on the desk, show some issues I encountered with the official accessories, my cable management ideas, and how it compares to the first standing desk I bought from Fully.

Great video and glad you like the desk! I’ve been enjoying my new Uplift desk too. For the keypad, the advanced ones allow you to save height presets with the M button.

Thanks for making and uploading this video. From my personal perspective, the only negative I see (for me) is that in a sitting position, the lower height of the desk may make my knees/upper thighs hit the front crossbar. I see that you have this covered by having a second desk as you referred to. That's also great information, as I was considering replacing my main desk with a standing desk, but after watching this video, I will probably keep my current desk and add a standing desk as you have. Once again, thanks for the great information.

I don't ever notice my knees hitting the crossbar when I have the desk in the sitting position, but that's just me. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Thanks for providing a review of the updated 4-legged frame! When I was searching for a sturdy standing desk months ago, the only reviews I could find were of the old version without the feet. (Why Uplift thought not having the feet to begin with was a good idea is beyond me.) You've convinced me to pull the trigger on this desk!

How did you mount the monitor arm for your pc monitor? I was told there is no room under the 4 legged desk uplift because of the steel frames running under it? Great vid btw

Thanks for taking the time to make this review. Like you said - a lot of the reviews for this desk are outdated. I’m considering almost the exact same spec except for maybe black legs instead of silver.

It looks like the older 4-leg version also didn't have the 45 degree braces that your desk has (I imagine this is for side-to-side stability).

Nice video, Roger! Does your comments about this desk are still the same even after a few months since you recorded this video? Is it a 1.5" table top?

Thanx for making this video! It's hard to find reviews on this version of the desk. How much does your desk weigh? Did you get the magnetic cable organizing channel?

Can I reduce the large size with other board? Or motors blocks this idea?

What monitor mount did you use? I am considering the 4 leg uplift and would like to know how much space is at the back of the desk to mount.

I'm using the Ergotron - HX Single Ultrawide Monitor Arm.
I didn't cover this in the video (i really should have!), but with the 4-legged version, the monitor arm will not fit properly under the desk since it will hit one of the cross bars.
I accepted the risk and only installed 1 of the 2 cross bars on the back part of the desk. If you search on Reddit, you will find lots of others that do the same thing. The only other option would be to use a piece of wood under the desk to allow the monitor arm to clamp on with both cross bars there.

@@rogerstechtalk you could also mount the monitor arm in one of the grommet holes, right?

Hey man! Hows the desk treating you? Any way you could do a bit more stability testing? Cheers

I have the exact same model. I wish the crossbars were thinner. I can't lower the desk as far as I want to because it hits my legs.

I am really considering purchasing this desk. My one big concern is from the looks of things the back leaves no space to mount clamps. I noticed you may have removed the center of the last support beam to work around this issue. Is this ok to do? I saw Upline offers a arm with a clamp that supports up to 3.75" of thickness. Is that something that could cover the thickness of a 1.5" butcher top and the thickness of the beam underneath or is removing that beam really the only option?

Great review! So are you saying the Uplift power strip doesn’t work with the four-legged desk even though they sell it as an accessory for that desk?

The required holes on frame aren't there for the 4-leg version from what I could see. I guess you could drill into the desk to mount it like that, but I wouldn't recommend it. The magnetic power-strip I found works way better in my opinion.

I just purchased the 4 leg and found the same thing. All of the mountable accessories like the foot hammock and power strip required extra drilling to add additional mounting holes into the wood. The website should really mention this for the 4 leg.

Just found out the same thing myself. As for mounting the power strip to the frame / Crossbar End , 3M command strips should work. They have some rated 20lbs and higher.

Well I'm stuck... I'm looking at the 72x30" comparing the C shape vs. the 4 legs. Very torn which one because it's right on the edge of your definition of "wide" - what do you think? 2 or 4 leg?

oh wow a 4 legged standing desk! Have you tried the Flexispot E7Q? I wonder how it compares to the uplift one
