- The freeze glitch is a glitch with Ice Climbers that causes your opponent to be completely frozen in place and unable to perform any actions. Despite the fact that it is banned in most tournaments, it can still very rarely happen accidentally or just happen intentionally if the tournament allows it. (Yes, some tournaments actually have freeze glitch unbanned, as you'll see in this video)
The freeze glitch is caused by nana throwing or being thrown and popo using squall hammer (Side-b) at the exact right moment, if timed properly, your opponent will be frozen in place.

I'm the ICs in the clip lol. Me and Eikelmann were roommates at the time so whenever we met in bracket we would just mess around.
At this tournament in particular we were both just sort of messing around entirely so I decided to throw in a freeze glitch. It was a goofy night.

For what I gatered he didn't forfeit, the glitch came by accident and he lost because it was illegal in the tournament, but idk
SoulTheRed Yeah it is actually not Tournament Legal to Intentionally do the glitch, or to do it in general, as its not only a stall option, but its also another level of unfair play, as Wobbling can be countered while being frozen and unable to move is another whole thing.

I have to ask, why would some tournaments not ban this? I mean I can understand cases where it happens accidentally, but if I understand this glitch correctly, the only thing the Ice Climbers need to win is even stocks, because then they can just freeze their opponent and take the percent lead.
