- It's not a Raptor, it's not a TRX, and it's not trying to be. What is it? Think of the AT4X AEV as the "ultimate 1/2 ton truck" for pragmatists. So in other words: not quite the ultimate, but more rational than the bonkers Ford or RAM....

Come on GM drop the 6.2 supercharged in there
Keep telling them, they might listen. -Travis
@@AAutoBuyersGuideI’m not sure why so many folks think *gm* is supposed to chase Ford around the marketplace yet no one has demanded Ford to offer a hand-built supercharged V8 engine in any of their products or _any_ high performance motor for ANY high performance Lincoln product that can compete with Cadillac’s V-series lineup, since not a single example of a vehicle of such caliber currently exists from Ford.
Why is this video labeled AEV edition when it is a standard AT4x?
Exactly
Look… it’s the “at forx”!!! 🤣🤦🏼🤦🏽🤦🏿
-stop it!
My favorite truck , thanks for the video , have a Blessed Day!
It's a good choice for favorite truck. -Travis
The only reason this is cheaper then a trx is that fiat raised the price 30 grand, there's no justifying such a high price on a truck that has such minor changes
Beautiful truck, I love that Volcanic Red. The LZ0 is the way to go in these trucks. I had a MY23 1500 ZR2 with 6.2 and I sold it to buy a diesel. The only bad thing on this truck is that for about the same coin, you can get a 2500 ZR2 with the L5P V8 Duramax diesel. Otherwise a great truck!
It's a beautiful color and it was a lovely engine. -Travis
It’s shame the AEV dosent get 35s.
Am I the only one that thinks it's funny that GM created their own sub-class of overlanding within the full-size and mid-size trucks? Chevy and GMC are also the only ones competing against each other in the overlanding segment. Why not use one of manufacturers to compete against the Raptor and TRX and the other to continue the overlanding experience? I don't know, GM is kind of funny thinking that it's smart to compete against one another when both of their actual competitors are competing against each other.
Like most raptors and trx' this will be a mall crawler.
Your question has come up in conversation but it seems like it might be a bit too fringe/extreme to invest significant resources in. -Travis
Amazing video Alex.
Any thoughts on the towing capabilities? Does the back end squat with a 4500 pound boat attached to the hitch? Those bumpers and skid plates are heavy.
Awesome truck and Awesome review again Alex, I think I would choose tundra because I'm not hauling huge loads often, but I would choose F350 or F450...is there update on F550 to F750???
If you're not hauling huge loads, why mentioned F350+?
It won't be a bad idea if GM makes something that actually competes with the Raptor (including the R) and the TRX. Something with the 6.2 supercharged V8 from the Escalade V.
That’s a hand-built supercharged V8 for a luxury vehicle. Neither Ford, Lincoln, RAM or Jeep offers anything that’s hand-built or within that realm of craftsmanship or attention to detail. Why would they choose that motor to compete with run of the mill engines off an assembly line from Ram and Ford?
GM did a great job with the tailgate...just be sure you remove the hitch before using it.
Where’s Brian?
Does Ford Have Better 4 Wheel Drive System Than GM Trucks(Chevrolet/GMC)
The question with diesels always is does the increased MPG ever offset the extra cost of the fuel itself. I don’t think increased fuel economy a valid reason to opt for a diesel for that reason.
At one time, it did and it was cheaper…especially in the summer. Sadly, that ship has sailed.
Outside U.S, diesel is much cheaper than petrol ( gas)
I'm posting this on all the reviews in the hope someone has an answer. I just bought the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 AT4X AEV Edition (Duramax) and I know its heavier than Non AEV edition. Its an amazing truck no doubt. There is some bounce and at times it can get unbearable on less than perfect freeways at almost any speed and 200 of the 300 mile drive home from the dealer was not pleasant. I spent heck of a lot more, paid over 126k including tax and dealer premium. GMC tell me, after extensive tests, its normal. One or two other reviews mention this bouncing effect and perhaps its more pronounced on the AEV Edition. Being desperate, having spent so much on this new truck, since the Wrangler MTs than came with it appeared to be less than perfect, I replaced all 5 tires at 500 miles with Mickey Thomson Baja Boss (that set me back another $2661) and reduced tire pressures front and back. I have to take this on a longer drive for a test. I think its the Multimatic DSSV, either I have a defective set on mine or its something else with the leaf springs or could be anything. GMC is no help at this time. I may have blown my $$$$$$ on this one.
Hmm
Hmm? -Travis
You need to change the name of this video. Its not an AEV Edition. It simply has the AEV front bumper, as all standard AT4X now do. Know what you are talking about first.
Too bad these turbos already having issues.
Video is mislabeled. Not a AEV model.
Being a diesel it burns hotter !?!?
Wtf?
YA YOU CAME OUT TO MONTANA ALRIGHT 🏳🌈
