My ex-husband was the painting contractor who painted The Prayer Tower (shaped like a star) when it was first built, during the 1960s. By coincidence, I ended up working in a law firm with Oral Roberts' daughter (Roberta Potts, Attorney) when I first arrived in Tulsa to get a job as a legal secretary in September 1991.

Attended ORU from 1978-83. Saw it go from ground zero to complete and treat my roommate. Hope that someday it can fulfill its vision and become a full fledged hospital and research center

It’s only 8 feet taller than the Gateway Arch.

Yes, the other Tulsa hospitals complained that Oral Roberts would create an oversupply of hospital beds. Then, once they were sure that Oral's hospital was closed, those other hospitals commenced massive new building projects.

Drove by there to see it up close for the first time thanks to my GPS, normally it does not route me that way, but somehow it did the other day, thankfully the towers are still up still doing good and it brings back the 80s and 90s, I just wished they kept the prayer hands in front of the Citiplex Towers.

He probably meant the FAA (Federal Aviation Admin)

It was a fund raising boon-doggle. It was never designed with floor plate sizes, floor-to-floor dimensions, or vertical circulation to be suitable for hospital occupancy.

Oral didn't start/create what has been called the, "Prosperity Gospel", which had been in different forms for years, but because of his prominence, made it more well known to a greater public (to some). It could also be said his use of, "God wants to to be well and prosper", helped him achieve that prominence to build upon.

33 is way more powerful than 7, every numerologist knows that.

What the reporter did not mention is that several floors have NEVER been finished out. Floors have never seen any office work take place. No carpet has ever been laid down. in almost 40 years just sit empty ! Because no one moved in during and after Oral Roberts ownership. And Tulsa was correct they already had enough hospital beds . The ORU hospital was so desperate for sick people. They tries to get people from the Fort Worth/Dallas area to come to their hospital and they would pay for any travel expenses !. But Fort Worth and Dallas already had several hospital in each city.
