One of the best-looking aircraft ever designed. Beautifully restored. Should be considered a national treasure. Can't be replaced.
Iconic, and one of the most beautiful aircraft ever produced, and to my knowledge, the last aircraft to navigate using the sextant from its observation bubble.
Boeing usually created the most beautiful planes, but the Connie certainly was an exception to that.
I wasn’t able to see the first flight after the recent restoration, but I was able to see the second flight on July 4th where it took off with an escort P-51 from Planes of Fame. Hope everyone enjoys seeing Connie at Oshkosh as much as I did!
It would have been nice to hear the plane.
So glad I got to see her flying around Chino before she left. I’m slowly restoring a 1967 Cessna O-2A Skymaster and it would be an honor if Steve would come over and put the first flight on her. She hasn’t flown since 1978 when the Air Force delivered her to the boneyard.
Hinton and his team did an amazing job on her, what a beautiful aircraft.
Easily in the Top 3 of most beautiful aircraft ever made. Absolutely magnificent!
Had the opportunity to have traveled in an Eastern Airlines Constellation from San Juan to Idlewild (now JFK) NYC back in 1958.
I was eleven years old and although my present memory of the trip is sketchy, there are parts of it I do remember well, such as the droning of the engines for hours.
Thanks for uploading this jewel.
What a beautiful airplane that is!!! So happy to see these type of restorations, it's a win for historic education.
I remember when I was a kid seeing these in regular service. They were beautiful then and this one is even more beautiful now.
O mais belo e elegante avião comercial construido...
Parabéns !
🇧🇷
I'm sure this was not intentional but just as the Connie is taking off, you can hear the sound of what sounds like a Cessna or Piper taking off, like the sound was dubbed over the Connie's. LOL!
I flew in the Navy Lockheed EC-121K fron 1960 until I got out of the Navy in 1963. I was a radar operator in AEWBARRONPAC and VW-11. My last station was at Argentia, Newfoundland with VW-11. We deployed to Keflavik, Iceland for patrols between Greenland and Iceland and Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
Two legends in the video, Steve and the Connie !
Steve Hinton is an absolute legend!
It's great to see him in good health. I re-watched him flying the Corsair so many times I think I warped the dvd.
I would like to learn more about him. I think he recently flew an A-26 that belongs to Kermit Weeks.
I spotted it at our Aurora airpark last week, One of my favorite aircrafts
Sure looks a beauty, thanks for posting. Safe travels. Ken
She's an absolute beauty!
I’ll be in Oshkosh tomorrow, if there’s one airplane I want to see up close in the Constellation. What a gorgeous machine
My Dad was a flight engineer on C and EC-121s back in the 1960s.
What a beautiful airplane; congratulations to Team Lewis and Team Hinton for keeping history alive and sharing it with us👍
I'm not jealous of too many men, but Steve Hinton is one of them. "BZ" Steve Hinton and POF staff. What a beauty your / Air Legends Connie is!"
The Planes of Fame is an amazing facility where they restore and fly some of the COOLEST historically relevant planes. The museum is easy to find so add it to your family vacation.
Chief Wilkins (RIP) 0:52 , it's finished! Most beautiful plane ever made! A couple of Connie's out there?
Les américains ont cette volonté de garder en état de vol , les avions mythiques . Félicitations
When I was a very young child these used to fly over our house regularly as commercial airlines, but were shortly being fazed out in favor of jet aircraft at the airport in my hometown. I really do miss those days of the prop aircraft flying over our house, especially the Connies.
My mouth hangs open from the first image. Absolutely stunning. A work of art from the Golden Age of Aviation with a story to match. Thank you for all your efforts in preserving this living history.
That is a truly beautiful plane
What a gorgeous example, huge applause to the restoration team, and thanks for sharing so all of us who can't get there can get to see these fantastic aircraft.
I had the privilege to fly in one and the sound of the engines starting up while seated inside was amazing.
Wonderful restoration! Really something to see even only on a little UA-cam video. A very special work to sustain history. Thank you for sharing.
i never understood why small propeller planes are still operating but larger ones were discontinued. we could still use them for regional travel, the europeans had kept even older junckers ju-52 flying for passenger trips until recently.
Are you serious? Piston engines vs turboprops? Or do you think anything with a propeller is the same?
That's a lot of aluminum . And it's beautiful 😊
finally a connie airworthy in the USA again.
This would be just nuts to take a ride
In this flying piece of history...
Such a gorgeous airplane even today. Must have been quite the looker in it's day.
thank you for keeping those pieces of history flying!!
Un avion légendaire absolument magnifique,
A voir au moins une fois dans sa vie de fan d’aéronautique
Merci pour ce post
a beautiful airplane. Congrats to all that helped return this plane to the sky
Magnificent, good job.
Fantastic !!! What a beauty ! Credit to all involved.
211st subscriber LIKE, 1,473rd desktop view - the most beautiful, long-legged, top-model-esque plane ever built.
Im so glad our Connie here in Australia finally has another play mate
Except ours is a Super.
Great job and report Steve.
Beautiful - such a thrill to see her at Aurora during some of my flight operations! ❤
more sound less talking.... even if after the talking you just add some plane clips please!
Agree.
Amazing aeroplane ,great to see it flying !!
My Lord you just took me for a ride down memory lane and thank you! My very first flight on a commercial airline was on a Connie! I believe it was 1967 if I remember correctly! I flew from Miami International Airport to Jacksonville Florida to spend time with my father's parents, my grandparents which I had only seen once before! Water ride down memory lane in the other thing was is that I flew alone at that young age! I know my dad had contacts because he was a cheap Aviation electrician during the Korean conflict! On board the Midway. He was quite an aviation not and I grew up around it he had a fondness for the constellation and I never knew until I blew on one at a young age and now it's one of my greatest memories thank you so much
Awesome looking aircraft !
She's an absolute beauty!
Thank you for the story on the Aircraft of General of the Army Douglas MacArthur. A recording of the takeoff from Fort Rucker was documented by the Audio-Visual Department at Fort Rucker.

she’s a stunner!
I remember the Constellations flying over as a kid.
Beautiful restoration, Great job!!
I remember when TWA flew the Connie back in the day.
Saw this exact plane just fly over my house, in SLC on 4/13/24, looks
Like it came from south Texas flying to Oregon! Beautiful listening to those 4 engines roar overhead, don’t hear any 4 prop
Planes these days, so when you do hear it, you look up to the skies and then check the ADSb to see what it is! I’d love to take a ride in this beast!
I know it looks absolutely beautiful in flight...but maybe there's too much 'American' history wrapped up in it...maybe it should be in a big U.S. aviation museum?
Will forever remind me of "Howard Hughes" and "TWA" .....
My dad had 7000 hrs in the EC-121 as a radar operator, Air Defense Command, droning over the east and west coast searching for those Rooskies back in the day. Those Pratts had a tendacy to catch fire, resulting in the affectionate phrase by the crews, "two's turning and two's burning!"
Holy Moly this just flew over my place in c cal about 20 minutes ago!!! I watched it with binoculars going NNw at ~10000 ft Thankyou!!!

Maybe the most beautiful aircraft ever made.
That would be the Concorde.
Nice to see it on its way to Oshkosh!
Que buen video, y el Constellation precioso.
Abrazos.
Absolutely FABULOUS!!!!!
As a kid, my folks brought us to Peterson Field to see Ike and Nixon come in on the Columbine Special.
What work of art, which in this case is a plane.
There’s a Constellation that has been sitting for years at KSLN on the north end of the field that they should look at trying to do something with. It’s been sitting for the 36 years I’ve been alive.
What a beauty, I can't stop looking and listening to the sound of those engines!!!!
I would like to take a ride in this beautiful plane! As a passenger..
Simply magnificent.
ABSOLUTELY F'ING STUNNING!!!
Gorgeous plane!
Breath Taking- My Dad was a Navy transport pilot (who served in WWII and the Korean War) and flew this beautiful airplane (Queen of the Sky as I remember) when he was stationed at The Patuxent River Naval Air Station- He also flew with The Ferry Command and MATS (Military Air Transport Service - formerly NATS- Naval Air Transport Service)- He also flew the DC 3 DC 4 DC 6 as well as the PBY-PB4Y and PBM-( I have all of his flight books) -but none that compare with this beauty--
He retired as Commander from South Weymouth Naval Air Station in 1962-Thank you for all your time and effort to restore this awesome airplane for all of us to see and enjoy-
Marc Chase
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! would LOVE to get my wrenches on some old school war iron!
Die lockheed constelation eines der schönsten flugzeuge der us air force tolle starke motoren das flugzeug hat eine schöne klassische form echt sehr gut alles klasse an der constelation
How can I get a seat on this beautiful plane?
Great video, hilariously ruined at the end by an editing blunder of a light aircraft's engine sound over the famous Connie four radial engine roar as it's taking off. Obviously the audio was used for the dialogue, but no less amusing that a video about this legendary airplane builds to the take off climax only to leave you disappointed. Hilarious and frustrating at the same time 😂
it is beautiful and so cool they are flying it. New engines, not much smoke ! Imagine the gas - 600 gallons per hour. Yowza !
Such a beautiful airplane!!!! Nice job getting her to look so shiny!!!!
Dad flew 121's out of McClellan and parts unknown. So beautiful! SALUTE!
What years was your Dad at McClellan?
It's my #1 plane to see this year at Airventure. Heard it didn't make it as scheduled on Monday and is being repaired at KMSN. Hope it makes it to the show!
My daddy loved the Connies. I remember flying on them until I was six.
She is a GORGEOUS BEAUTY THE SUPER CONNIE...😍😍😍😍
It's not a Super Connie FFS! The Super is much longer, and has square windows.
Can people pay to ride on that "Connie" airplane?
Just saw it fly over. That's what brought me here. Beautiful!
Why did these go out of production?
An amazing air ship and fascinating to the eye. Wonderful that it lives on.
Connie's so pretty! Such an honor to see and even work on her a little! So gorgeous!
I think this plane is more secure than the original ! 🥂 Hello from france !
Chubmobile. Nice work.
What a wonderful old bird! The last one I got to see was flying at Barksdale Air Force Base during the airshow. That’s been 10,,,maybe 15 years ago. Bright white with the red TWA,,,,looked like a brand new aircraft.
There's one in TWA colors in JFK that has been converted into a restaurant. FLY NAVY!!!
Hinton can fly anything.
Realy realy cool aircraft
Lindo demais 🇧🇷
Wow she purdy
GORGEOUS plane
1960年代、日本にあった極東米軍立川基地にコニーがよく飛来してました😊
