I like tanks so I keep using the MBT but I'm not sure what logical reason there is to use it over the Wildcat which can kill a tank faster than another tank and also can defend against air attack much better.
@@lapoippoipoi2776lol they simply decided to remove the 57mm. Which is esthetically bad, because the 57mm gun was the most beautiful, and also the most accurate compared to the real EBR Jaguar. Yeah, I'm that kind of guy who prefers anesthetic over efficiency in video games.
The reason bf2042 has this disconnect from how we expect armaments to be (light armor with more damage per minute than a tank) is that the real stuff has already been engineered and optimized for its role. All this imagined future stuff gives no regard to the engineering and physics it would to make this stuff real. Its just game designers taking chassis from current tech, re-skinning, and slapping on non-sensical weapons. Side note: the fact that the land based missles are lockons and not laser/wire guided is a travesty. The TOWs were fun because they took skill but had a high reward.
it's a video game bruv... one where you can revive dudes that got shot in the head. if anything the 3rd person is what's too strong. with that high fov in 3rd he can literally look over hills
My ol bessy I thrown on all the last upgrades except for the secondary missile to ground. I leave it on anti air to help take down air. I figure with the 12 shots u get easily take down a tank or anything else and if u have a full squad in, the mortars for anti infantry, and the missile barrage for anti tank aswell. Aswell as having an repair tool obviously to get out and repair quickly for the next engagement if ur repair is on cooldown. Love the wildcat been wrecking with it.
Just hit tier 1 with it last night. It’s a little weak vs infantry, even after the last update (which was a nerf but they fixed hit reg and increased 57mm fire rate so it was kind of a buff), but it two shots little birds and three shots attack helos. If someone soflams, the atms one shot all helos except transport. Fun fact, in a battle between a full health wildcat with 57mm and atms vs a full health tank with heat, the wildcat will win every time. When you have the aa flak for the third seat, it is better and more relatable for combatting air attacks from helos. Takes more hits but has much better hit chance. Only thing it doesn’t survive against is hers with agms. That’s op af
They really need to replace the ATMs with TOWs. TOWs take more skill but can engage a wider variety of targets, making it a high-risk high-reward weapon instead of the fire-and-forget ATMs we have now.
usally main gun is standard weapon dual 30mm aa, second is ground to ground missile, then 50cal or minigun, 60mm flak. when i use this the enemies fly zone is restricted :) 57mm is really devastatin, but its not really ideal for anythin with rotors or wings, if the shot flew straight in the direction u shoot, yea, but it loops in a wierd direction, so not really ideal. 40mm is balanced, not good against airplanes, but somewhat effective against helis.
They’re gonna nerf this. I’m afraid they’ll nerf it into oblivion. I think a good way to limit it would be to make the lock on harder to get with thermal smoke on the field. So if a vehicle pops smoke the lock on won’t be able to lock on for the duration the smoke is visible on field. I’d also make the smoke last a few seconds longer. It still leaves that vehicle open to getting shot via the main cannon but rockets (i.e. big damage) will be harder to use. Thus keeping the skill gap higher. i don’t mind big damage when there are counter measures to that. I want to keep the skill gap high so it remains fun for those who are good. Nerfing damage isn’t always the answer.
When I played using EA Play, the smoke never helped at all. Vehicles and SOFLAM could lock on no matter what, then it's just missile and rocket spam after that
if you have a whole squad of teammates, you can do the party lav strat with this, one flir/Soflam, and your AA missiles become AT missiles, or vice versa, and you can take an engineer for repairs.
Kinda weird that a lightly armoured anti air vehicle would be such a tank killer. There should be a separate LAV (like the M3A3, or some future variant) that is better against tanks, while the Wildcat is almost entirely suited to killing aircraft and smaller lightly armoured vehicles.
@@Xll-LP Way too powerful and unbalanced, mixing up two different vehicle roles like that, but it's characteristic of DICE and BF 2042 now - removing class restrictions and having do-it-alls rather than specific classes.
@@xanderabbey8529 it's really powerful, but unbalanced? I think not, in any battlefield since bf3 LAV 100% beats tank in close range and lose in long range, plus tanks got low profile and Wildcat is high enough to hit it, and tanks got same speed going forward and reverse, which Wildcat can't do, it can go full speed only forward and x2 slower going backwards, so maneuvering on Wildcat a little tricky vs tanks, Wildcat can defend from anything efficiently, I agree, 57mm gun + AA rockets make it truly META VEHICLE what can deal with any treat with enough skill, so it's not unbalanced, it's perfect example how you can create effective LAV from AA in bf2042 and still got decent AA functionality
@@Xll-LP LAVs win at close ranges and lose at long range? What? I think it's the opposite way around lol. In almost every case it's better for the LAV to keep at least a medium distance from an MBT, and rain hell with it's cannons and TOW missiles. Short range engagements only really work when when you're literally right up in a tank's face with 25mm/APFSDS and Zuni missiles, otherwise the tank's main cannon will likely out DPS you at short ranges, especially if you can't get a good angle on him. Distance is an LAV's friend. At a distance, tankers need to account for shell drop and enemy vehicle speed and movement and angling, and every missed shot is dangerous. An LAV can fire at a distance and a few missed shots won't be a problem because it has 12 shots before you need to reload, and TOW missiles don't have bullet drop and can be guided to hit moving targets easily. The Wildcat just excels at one-too-many things, being efficient at anti-air and vehicles, while being able to outdo tanks at close range. Far different from the MAA and LAVs from BF4 and BF3 I'd say. Not to say this thing should be nerfed into the ground, but for a vehicle with serious anti-air capabilities it really shouldn't be a powerful jack of all trades like this. Give the anti-vehicle role to a new vehicle, like some futuristic Bradley Fighting Vehicle, call it the M3A4 or something lol.
@@xanderabbey8529 in BF3 LAV allways win in close range cos dps is huge and constant rain of 2 types of shells disable tank and kill repairing engineers easily, in BF4 LAV can feel better at range, but skilled tank driver will outdps any LAV in the open at any range with hi-speed shells + staff shells combo, you just loose time using TOW while tank destroying you with this combo

I have been using the 40mm canon and ATM missiles since i ulnocked them, yes the 57 mm is tempting but, the 40 mm is a perfect balance for infantry air and ground vehicles !
57 is a one-shot on direct impact for infantry, can disable most helicopters with three hits, and has faster velocity than the 40mm. It just requires you be a lot more accurate and disciplined with the trigger. Definitely give it a shot.
