our amazing main dancer (and my wife) SuA choreographed Demian and she also directed the performance video! all the lighting and camera angles choices were her idea
Shutter is inspired by the myth of Medusa, the Gorgon that turned people into stone. Since the album is called Villains, so Medusa is one of the main characters of the album. Max Demian is a character from Hermann Hesse's book Demian: The Story of a Boyhood. Demian is a dark character, with no distinct gender and Emil's friend, who has his own personal moral code. The book was published in 1919. Koreans go insane for this book. BTS even did a whole album called Wings inspired by it, with the title song Blood, Sweat and Tears. Now Dreamcatcher do their own take on turning the theme into a powerful awesome song Demian.
Both absolutely stunning songs show Dreamcatcher's diversity - by K-Pop standards, they experiment frequently and in the best way. Both musically and in the choreo. You won't find a more diverse band in K-Pop, that's for sure.
Welcome back! Thanks for checking out Shatter and Demian. Shatter is from the same album as OOTD. There are a lot of themes all throughout the new album about beauty being dangerous and Shatter has a lot of imagery and lyrics that tie it to the Medusa story. This is also why the song ends so abruptly. The last line is "I think I'm turning into Stone" but they song cuts out abruptly on St---- and everyone freezes because they become stone. Demian is based on a novel by the same name by the German author Herman Hess. The book follows the protagonist as he navigates a world of illusion and awakens to reality which I think is a metaphor for coming of age. The person who helps him on this journey is his friend Max Damien, hence the songs title. The opening hangul reads "Stay with me my Damien" and is a line from the book. Members from left to right at the beginning when the first lines are sung. Gahyeon - Maknae and vocalist Jiu - Leader, lead vocalist, lead dancer, visual Dami - Main rapper, lead dancer, vocalist - You pointed her out as one you liked Siyeon - Main vocalist. - You pointed her out as well Sua - Main dancer, lead rapper, vocalist. - She is the one who choreographed this dance and video. Handong - vocalist, chinese member. Yoohyeon - Lead vocalist. If you want a guide, then the most up to date one is An Extensive Guide to Dreamcatcher 2023, by Dreamer. Also, the Insomnicsy YT Channel is the defacto fan YT channel for DC. Kit, the lovely lady who runs it, does compilations and videos for the girls on a weekly basis, usually multiple a week. She has a "This is ______ Series" that has 4 seasons, with each season having one video per member that's 7-mins long. Each season has different clips and it's meant to be watched sequentially. This series is all about the girls personalities. Insomnicsy also has some other great series like "Dreamcatcher being unfiltered Idols" or "Dreamcatcher Funny Moments". Lastly there's the video Dodging Disbandment and other Extreme Sports: A History of Dreamcatcher, by Mera. This is a must watch if you're interested in their history. It's older but that's fine as its mostly goes into detail about their time as Minx, the change to Dreamcatcher, and the hardships they faced early on in their career. As I'm not sure what other songs you've heard of theirs, I'm unsure what to recommend you, but in general, all of DCs discography is fantastic, so starting at the beginning and working forward through their discography is a viable option. Their debut song was Chase Me and the single album is called Nightmare. If you decide to do DC albums at some point, the Intros are a must listen. Enjoy!
The song writing partnership of LEEZ and Ollounder have been creating Dreamcatcher's songs since debut. LEEZ left the company right before the Apocalypse: From Us album so Demian and Shatter were composed without him. I think the changes in the music with Apocalypse: From Us and VillianS is because of that. Ollounder was always the edgier of the two and it really shows in Shatter and Demian.
the reason you might not hear “shatter” everytime is because of their accents😅 in korean the sounds L and R are the same, so it’s hard for korean speakers to pronounce a real R sound, that’s why they almost all sound like they’re saying “shattuh”
First off, your hair is fabulous! It's so cute! Shatter is my jam. I listened to it everyday and I didn't like it at first. Demian is great and super funky. The video is awesome with great lighting and the outfits are 🔥 SuA did the choreography on it. She's our main dancer.
Yay! Glad you liked them. Both these songs had me in a choke hold when the came out and I'm still jamming to them on the regular! I think you're going to have a great time going through their discography, just so many good songs. If you need some lyric videos I made this playlist of the most accurate lyric videos I could find for Dreamcatcher: ua-cam.com/play/PLoAahkatNIT8kVxOqHNCvw6D2TyvU-KVH.html Hope this helps! ^_^

Thank you love! Can't wait to check it out.
As far as I've heard, the Korean alphabet doesn't have a hard "R" sound. So they will use "L" or "uh". I don't claim to be an expert, tho.
Yeah L and R make a similar sound in Korean. G and K make similar sounds too.
@@emanymton713 also P/B and B/V if i'm not mistaken :)
@@lanango5152 yeah, say the words as if you hav3 a sinus infection as an English speaker and you’ll get it right.
