      ***** Please, Rodman's block was great, Jordan's (on Rodman) was weak. He caught it from behind before Rodman had barely jumped. Rodman's block of Jordan's was when Jordan was fully in the air.

      Bitch please, name me another athlete who could EFFECTIVELY guard all five positions like he did. Defensive versatility made him greater than other defenders. Who else could guard the likes of Jordan or Magic and establish the same dominance over the giants of Shaq and Hakeem. He made the NBA All-Defensive Team EIGHT times and Defensive player of the year TWICE. There were much better shot blockers than him, and players better at steals but his all round game plus his defensive rebouding ability (At his size he rivals Bill Russell) resulted in his defensive Superiority.

    The one thing LeBron fans who swear he's better than MJ will never understand. It's not the skills that made MJ the greatest. It's not the rings, the stats, or the MVPs. It's his heart and will to win that separates MJ from everyone else. Even if you get the best of him at one point, he'll make sure to come right back and put you back in your place. You can't teach that kind of willpower.

    • @chuck430
      @chuck430 7 років тому +7

      Stonemansteve II Can't argue with how great Jordan was, but Pippen and Rodman are in the HoF and they had a pretty decent coach. I would call that a super team.

    • @sandman1008
      @sandman1008 7 років тому +12

      chuck430 He didn't have Rodman for his first 3 rings, though. Rodman joined after MJ came back from retirement. So he only had 1 HoF player (Pippen) for his first 3 rings. It was hardly a super team.

    • @chuck430
      @chuck430 7 років тому +4

      I know Rodman wasn't on the team for the first 3-peat but, I was replying to Stonemansteve's claim to 6 titles without a super team. And that earlier team may have not had Rodman but they had Horace Grant, who was no slouch on D, and still lead by arguably the best coach of all time.

      Drew Filson it was, especially when Rodman joined the team. It was hysteria here every fricken day. He opened up a cigar bar. Jammed traffic because his face was painted on a building wall next to the express way. But this hair was on a billboard on top of the building shaped like his head....everytime he changed his hair color they would change the billboard to the same color. People would slow down or get off to take pictures.

      Just curious.. Did you live in Chicago when the cubs won the series? If so, how would you compare that celebration to the bulls?

    • @ChicagoTRS
      @ChicagoTRS 6 років тому +1

      @Andy Kilker The Cubs celebration was giant (5-10x) compared to any of the Bulls celebrations. The Bulls were a different beast though...everyone knew you were watching the best there ever was and probably will be. It was a sustained success and MJ was simply dominant in an era that had a lot of all-time great players. The Bulls were still a relatively young franchise in Chicago and not as strong a fanbase, though Jordan did eventually turn everyone in Chicago into rabid Bulls fans. The second three-peat they were basically The Beatles.
      The Cubs were an entirely different story...many more longtime fans and generations of fans that never saw victory - a team that famously loses finally wins...it was historic/epic (tbh some of us are still celebrating). They say 5 million came for the celebration...I was there I would bet it was less but still was huge. There were a lot of tears the night the Cubs won...with the Bulls you came to expect victory - they were never beat in the finals (never really challenged)...they faced a lot more challenges in the Eastern Conference finals.
      The 1985 Bears...may have been even bigger than the Cubs...not celebration size as it was like -30 wind chill that day...still 300K showed up. Chicago is ultimately a Bears town and that team was a super team - great players, great personalities, bigger than life coach, a historic team that had never won a Super Bowl. Might be the best team in Chicago history for one season...maybe even more dominant than the 72-10 Bulls.

    The best basket ball players that have ever lived play right now. That statement will always be true. The kids in 8th grade right now have astonishing basketball ablity. All of the great players from yesteryear could play today but the role players from those days couldn't make a D-league roster today. All head to head games would be lost by the older teams because of these weak links as well as strategy errors like insufficient use of the 3 point line, especially the corner 3.

    There's no debating that. You're absolutely right. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. The argument was, who is number 1 in career PPG. It may have been similar, but Jordan is still #1.
    Also, Wilt dominated the league back in the day, but no one can ever duplicate what Michael Jordan did. I dont mean talent-wise. I mean, marketability, comercializing, ratings, popularity and fame. What MJ did for the NBA can never be done again.
